Napoleon Hill’s Thought for the Day Only the highway of useful service leads to the city of happiness. Psychologists who study human behavior have concluded that we are happiest when we are striving to achieve success. It is the act of striving, not the successful completion of the task, that provides the greatest psychic rewards. When you strive to achieve success through service to others, you multiply the benefits to yourself, and you ensure that whatever road you choose in life will ultimately lead you to success and happiness. There is no occupation or profession that will not benefit from a concerted effort to better serve others. But the greatest benefit will be to you, in the form of the self-satisfaction that comes from knowing that you made a difference, that without you others would never have received the service you provided.

Napoleon Hill’s Thought for the Day The richest persons are those who give most in service to others. Financial wealth is only one measure of success. The truly happy and successful individual is the man or woman who is healthy, financially secure, challenged in his or her career, and is making a difference in the lives of others. It isn’t always easy to render service to others. The world is a cynical and dangerous place where others are likely to mistrust your motives. They can be convinced only by consistent, sustained, outstanding service that is enthusiastically and cheerfully offered. In time, even the most cynical individual will come to accept your willingness to go the extra mile if you are sincere in your offers of assistance and in the service you provide.

Quote from New Life newsletter: Check Your Ego Amigo Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18 There is much more to life than merely serving your ego. Those things that seem like failures to the ego, are pure opportunities for raising your awareness to higher, more fulfilling levels. Experiences your ego would never allow will connect you to what you sincerely desire. Feelings, thoughts and actions that go beyond yourself show you who you truly are. Anxiety, fear, worry and doubt are all devices that your ego uses to hold you back. Stop being a slave to ego, and you are free to live without limits. By appealing to your ego and cooperating with it, others are able to control your life. Yet when you let go of your ego’s concerns, you can freely live to fulfill your true purpose. Why would you let ego hold you back when there are so many great things you can accomplish? The best thing you can do for yourself is to live your life beyond yourself. Let go of your ego’s incessant pleading, and discover a whole new wonderful world. Father in heaven, forgive us for the times we let our egos get so out of control that it takes us away from You. Help us to remain humble, especially when everything seems to be going good. Help us to set aside our pride and remember everything we have, even the very breath in our lungs is from You. Help us to be slow to take credit and quick to be humble. In Jesus name, AMEN! Ego is just a small three letter word, but can destroy everything.

Napoleon Hill’s Thought for the Day Don’t push others around if you have no blisters on your own feet. Good officers lead by example and make sure the troops are cared for before attending to their own needs. When you treat others respectfully and never ask another to do something you would be unwilling to do yourself, you are entitled to the respect of others-and they will freely give it. But you cannot expect others to continue marching until they have blisters on their feet while you ride in the jeep. Leading others means you must be willing to give far more of yourself than you would ever ask of them.

Quote from New Life newsletter: Be a Light Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor and] glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 When things around you seem too noisy, hectic and out of control, be extra calm, peaceful and patient. If the people in your life seem too greedy and selfish, that’s the time to be extra loving, giving and sincerely compassionate. When the world seems a bit too confused and aimless, be extra focused and purposeful. If you don’t like what you see, you have the opportunity to change it by changing the way you are. If there is darkness all around you, that’s an opportunity for you to shine a light. Even a small beacon in the darkness will shine for a long, long way. Choose to be the difference that makes a real difference, and your efforts will bear abundant fruit. When things around you seem to be at their worst, that’s when you can accomplish the most. That’s when you can truly make a valuable, much-needed difference. When trouble and confusion surround you, see the situation as the opportunity that it is. Shine God’s light in the face of negativity, and you will change your world. Father in heaven, today we are reminded how we are called to be a light in a dark world. We don’t want to add to that darkness; we want to shine Your light through our lives. Help us to see that we can make a difference. Use us to be beacons of hope in our homes, workplaces and wherever we find ourselves today. In Jesus name, AMEN! In a world full of darkness, be a light.

Napoleon Hill’s Thought for the Day Start going the extra mile and opportunity will follow you. Going the extra mile can give you insight and a good reputation, attracting opportunity. Many oblivious opportunities are found in places no one else has ventured. If you put in the extra effort to make a good project even better, or you get to know your equipment better than anyone else on your shift, you will see things others overlook and be in a position to use them. Leaders who need a job done think first of people they know who will do it well. If other people respect you for your work's quantity and quality, you will find yourself advancing past others who regard their jobs as drudgery. For all the extra service you've rendered, you'll find yourself more than amply compensated by opportunities others never grasp.

Get Creative And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom and skill, with intelligence and understanding, and with knowledge in all [areas of] craftsmanship. Exodus 35:31 Creativity is not reserved just for those who engage in artistic pursuits. In every life, in every situation, there are opportunities to be creative. Being creative means acknowledging that there are many possibilities beyond the obvious. Being creative means having the courage to consider doing things in a way that’s different than the way they’ve always been done. Creativity gives you the ability to solve multiple problems with a single course of action. Creativity transforms weakness into strength, and builds value where there was none before. Imagine the possibility of a connection between things that don’t appear to be connected, and creativity will start to take hold. Look at life from a new perspective, and it will further nourish your creativity. Creativity refuses to accept limits. And as such, with sufficient creativity you can move beyond any obstacle. There is always room for improvement, and there is always a place for beauty, for achievement, for fulfillment. Be creative, and you’ll continue to add richness to life. Father in heaven, thank You for shaping us to be creative. Please guide us when we face problems, to find a creative way in solving them. We don’t want to get so caught up in looking at the problem or what we don’t have, that we miss out on what you have given us to use. In Jesus name, AMEN! Every problem has a solution. You just have to be creative enough to find it.

Napoleon Hill’s Thought for the Day Those who do more than they are paid for will sooner or later be willingly paid for more than they do. If you consistently do more than you are paid to do-whether you are a professional, an executive, an hourly worker, or an entrepreneur-you will eventually be compensated for far more than you do. If you give more and better service than those around you, customers will eat a path to your door, and your boss will consider you irreplaceable. With the dearth of outstanding service that exists in the world today, you can instantly differentiate yourself from the competition simply by providing good service.

Napoleon Hill’s Thought for the Day Remember, you can place under obligation anyone you can induce to accept favors from you. It is a very basic human characteristic that we tend to respond to others in the same way they treat us. They will always remember the kindness a person extends, and someday when it is needed most, help will appear from a totally unexpected source. The kindness and courtesies you extend to others need not be large and expensive. A kind word, a friendly greeting, or assistance with a favorite project lets others know that you care enough about them to lend a helping hand. When you help another cheerfully and enthusiastically without asking for anything in return, the law of compensation places that person in your debt. You have made a friend who is now interested in your success.

Quote from New Life newsletter: Mistakes The mind of the prudent [always] acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise [always] seeks knowledge. Proverbs 18:15 Mistakes are valuable reminders that you do not know it all. And as such, they provide golden opportunities to learn. Mistakes are a sure sign that you’re making progress. For when you make mistakes, it means you are putting forth effort and having an influence. Mistakes are certainly no cause for shame. The greatest achievements require you to work your way through the greatest errors and misunderstandings. Mistakes are not to be feared. For the same actions that enable you to make a mistake also put you in a position to correct it. When you’re willing to accept the possibility of mistakes, you’re able to follow the best opportunities. When you become experienced at handling mistakes, you’ll be skilled at creating real value. Success comes not from avoiding all mistakes, but from learning to find a positive way forward no matter what may happen. With each mistake, get over it, get wisdom from it, and become even more effective than you were before. Father in heaven, we know we are just dust, frail and feeble, and will make many mistakes. Help us not to live in fear of making an honest mistake or two knowing You are there to pick us back up again. Help us to learn from our mistakes and grow through them. In Jesus name, AMEN! Mistakes are for learning, not repeating.

I would recommend a ported Echo 7310p over any Stihl 70ish cc and below. A ported Husqvarna 572xp will cut faster than a ported Echo 7310p, but I experience Husqvarnas to require replacement parts sooner than an Echo. To answer your question directly, if only one chainsaw can be chosen between a Husqvarna or Stihl: 70ish cc, definitely Husqvarna 572xp, especially ported. Now 80cc Stihl 500i vs a Husqvarna 592xp, I think while there is a 10 cc or so difference, the weight difference may make it worthwhile to go 500i. If you need raw performance over weight, than the 592xp is the way to go. Ported 500i or ported 592xp, I would personally go with 592xp. Not only cheaper, but the significant power difference, especially when ported, really makes the 592xp a gem. For the old school folks, a ported Husqvarna 395xp can get up to 10 hp when ported. They are heavier than a 592xp though. As you can see from the video though, the 500i is definitely a well designed chainsaw. It can just about meet all needs of any professional when ported well. I’m no pro, but I do have ported saws and have watched many differing chainsaw comparisons. I’m not brand loyal, except, I expect longevity. A few key saws I have: Stihl MS 311; ported Echo 620p; ported Echo 7310p. I should be getting a ported Husqvarna 395xp in the coming months. If I don’t get it, i’ll likely get a ported Husqvarna 592xp. I previously had a Husqvarna 266xp, and it was dog water to me. Most people love that saw though. But if my memory serves, I’d take my Stihl MS 311 over that 266xp I had any day. I think Husqvarna today, is a better chainsaw, dollar for dollar, than Stihl. I think Echo is the best bang for the buck, with the most consistent reliability.

Takes too long to sharpen 3. Chain cost more 4. Too HEAVY. 5. Don't wanna hold the saw back, off the dogs. Guys will watch me cut with a 28",can see they kinda get it. Napoleon Hill’s Thought for the Day A bull may have good qualities, but you will never bring them out by waving a red flag in his face. Arousing others is easy-if you don’t care what kind of action you inspire. If you wish to create a positive response in others, you do so by example and through the art of gentle persuasion, not by daring them to attack. When you work with others, concentrate on their positive attributes, not on the things they dislike or fear. When you take the time to get to know your associates, to learn about their hopes, dreams, and aspirations, you can determine what motivates them. You can then show them how they can align their goals with yours to work together for your mutual advantage. When you do, everybody wins.

Napoleon Hill’s Thought for the Day You cannot make all people like you, but you can rob them of a sound reason for disliking you. Even the most popular people have their detractors. Because we are all different, with differing interests and personalities, it is impossible for anyone to be beloved by everyone who knows them. If your mission is to make everyone like you, great disappointment is in store. But if you are always kind and considerate in your dealings with others, they may not like you, but it will be impossible for them to dislike you. You can cement your relationships with others by making sure that you are a person of character who is predictably honest, straightforward, and ethical. When you follow such a code of conduct, you may not be sought out by others who do not share your values, but you will be respected by all who know you. And in the end, self-respect will mean far more to you than mere popularity.

Quote from New Life newsletter: Miserable or Happy All the days of the afflicted are bad, but a glad heart has a continual feast [regardless of the circumstances]. Proverbs 15:15 It is easy to be miserable. It is just as easy to be happy. Being miserable will nourish and support your ego. Being happy will bring peace and fulfillment to your spirit. Being miserable can be very dramatic, complicated and sophisticated. It can make you appear quite impressive to other people. Being happy, on the other hand, is an expression of simplicity and freedom and joy. Chances are, others could be suspicious or resentful. Once you have chosen to be miserable, it will require a great deal of energy and effort to maintain that state of misery. By contrast, when you choose happiness, that happiness actually brings additional energy and positive passion to your life. The choice between happiness and misery is one you make in each moment, over and over again, day after day. Whether you’re happy or whether you’re miserable is completely up to you. Father in heaven, what a choice we get to make today, to be happy or to be miserable. Help us whatever our lot to choose to be happy, not in our circumstances, but in You! Teach us to have glad hearts, living grateful for all You have done in us, for us and how You will continue to be with us always. In Jesus name, AMEN! Happiness is a choice, not a result. Nothing will make you happy until you choose to be happy.

Napoleon Hill’s Thought for the Day Every time you influence another person to do a better job, you benefit that person and you increase your own value. Someone once said that no one can really motivate anyone else; all we can do is motivate ourselves and hope it catches on. You will never know how much you influence others with your behavior. When you always go the extra mile, you will affect those in your circle of friends and acquaintances, your family, your co-workers, and even your bosses to do more and better than they have ever done. Your value to yourself and others is greatly enhanced by your ability to influence others to be happier, more productive people. There are no salary caps or career limits for those who lead others to great heights of success. Such people are too valuable.

Learn To The wise will hear and increase their learning, and the person of understanding will acquire wise counsel and the skill [to steer his course wisely and lead others to the truth]. Proverbs 1:5 Learn to love the challenges, and you will grow stronger. Learn to love putting forth effort, and you’ll find yourself becoming more capable and effective. Learn to love making a positive contribution, and your life will grow richer. Learn to love being around people who are different than you, and you’ll gain many valuable new perspectives. Learn to love discovering what you do not know, and your knowledge will greatly expand. Learn to love truly listening, and your wisdom will increase. Learn to love giving, and your life will be blessed. Learn to love being thankful, and you’ll know real abundance. Learn to love the ordinary moments, and you’ll find each day filled with warm golden treasures. Learn to love something about each day, and your days will bring rich fulfillment. Learn to love, and you’ll know how to live. Father in heaven, we are grateful today that You have given us the ability to learn. We ask for Your help to stop just seeking more than we have, but instead to learn to see and love what You have blessed us with. Whether a challenge, change or an old car we take for granted, help us to learn to love it all we pray. In Jesus name, AMEN! The capacity to learn is a gift, the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice.
