This was my first Rune Factory and I played obsessively as a kid. I tried replaying it last year and woo boy. Yeah, it’s rough to return to that but I would love for it to be remastered or remade.

Rf1 is my favourite rune factory. 1. I like the atmosphere in this, the colours... in the other games rf3 rf4 rf5 the colours are so annoying like theyre so intense. Rf1 is giving a vibe 2. I love the townsfolk here. I want to marry so many girls. Like Tau, Melody, Lynette, Tori, Sharon ... they are literally so amazing. In Rf3 and rf4 most of the bachelorettes annoy me especially in rf3. 3. The music is so iconic 4. The dungeons are so much cooler here

Some points to add to this 6 year old review: 1. CPU/turn speed can be sped up significantly in the options menu. 2. The campaign is extremely worth any degree of grind. It's unreal how vast and interesting the story gets, as well as the various situations you'll find yourself in, one such thing being alliance matches where you fight alongside an ally. You will also unlock some crazy good maps 3. The game has what I believe to be the most unnoticed OST I've ever witnessed. It's insanely good

I really enjoy this game because villager & bachelorettes is interesting me sir of course rune factory 3 & 4 still the best and many people still play it till this day

I remember buying a Harvest Moon game after seeing a Story of Seasons game on the rack by it. Told myself it was a knockoff of HM and ignored it. Took the Harvest Moon game back and told the Game Stop guy it was crap and I couldn't play it. He told me to try SoS and I did. I liked it. When I next saw him, he told me that the original people were doing that series, and I thanked him. Looked further into it to find out about the split and why HM was still happening. The videos may look good but don't think I can touch a new HM game again.

I spent 3 weeks delving over all the info, all the convos of characters, all the fmv in the game and the last 30-40% of the game/story is absolute trash. It makes no sense, is comically stupid and some of the worst garbage made up by people that had no idea how to write a story whatsoever.

lol I'll always love this game. the characters and their responses to things aer soooo relatable. There are many times i say something and then Alto or Sakuya just remuddle the same type of response i had, then i go., THANK YOU!! XD

So, to clarify: "Story of Seasons" is the OG "Harvest Moon," and "Harvest Moon" today is just "Harvest Moon" in name only, correct?

Capitalizing on brand confusion... it was the title that kept them in business. What were they supposed to do? They tried to take it in a new direction with Skytree village but were critically savaged by fan boys who never even played it.

Surprised there was no tile/sprite editor, since all you'd have to do is blow up a tile/sprite to bigger pixels and add a colour wheel to replace each pixel. Would have been really cool if there was, but without it, it will probably end up forgotten.

That's why you had to repeat the mission so many times even with lowered attack you must move so you can run away in time, use mordimorth puppets to distract the angels, those puppets have the ability to attract all attacks no matter the enemy so they are a great decoy next use Lizeth to restore alto and Sakuya those 2 make a lot of damage as for Popo this map don't use her for attack she is better a support healing plus that gives her lots of experience. Even if this video was 8 years ago it is never a bad idea to revisit a great game 😊

This is truly a great game 😊 a really good one for those who don't know, Stella Glow was made by the same team that made the Luminous Arc for the DS 3 of the most legendary games for the DS

This one was a banger

This game had so much wasted potential... Fan service apart, it has a lot of personality, some tracks of the score are amazing, but the gameplay gets boring soon. The maps could have been crazier and funnier, with cooler enviorments and higher jumps, the gameplay more dynamic and fast, and the IA more challenging. I had to slow down sometimes to make the things less easier. Such a pity, I loved the last Senran Kagura's. I guess they don't make fun racing games anymore.

I feel shared tool and item bag slot is okay, since you can keep unused tool from bag slot but it's always with you when needed

Personally its the very first SOS that i really like… i enjoy their remakes but for some reason i liked PoOT’s gameplay loop and its mechanic. I really enjoy the leveling system, the freedom of customization and although the Townies are bit substantial at time i like for what they are! but god! the maker! Forbid that maker!! They took so long istg! I think playing the game after the major issues was fixed, my experience was smooth and enjoyable!

I don't get any of the puppet creation stuff, sounds too complicated. Can this game be finished without getting to deep into this whole system?

Definitely agree in terms of the social aspect being lacking. Really do hope the dev team can improve that in the next installment

honestly this was one of my least favorite at the end of the day, and it really came down to the makers and the storage. I like makers but i don't like how long they take, specifically the seed maker. in every other game with a seed maker i can buy a certain amount of seeds , plant them and them sell most of them and keep a few to turn back into seeds and replant those not too long after, harvesting. but in this game the seed maker just takes waaay to long to be productive, i basically have to buy double the seeds i need so i have crops to plant in the meantime while i wait several days to weeks for them to be ready to replant. the maker takes 23 hours to give 2 bags of seeds from one crop, it's just way to long. The storage bins just make my farm feel cluttered since to store my various seeds, product ect, they require alot of storage and you start to place them close by where the products are being made. however they dont share space or link at all but the space is also quite limited so you need so many to accommodate everything, it's been years so my memory is a bit hazy but i think you could only store so much of one item in a single slot as well. i got married put the game down and never really picked it back up. it's the first time i ever just stopped playing a harvest moon game. i didnt hate the game but it did slowly eat away at my ability to care, never even came back to check out any of the dlc i bought with the game when they finally released. i also hated how you just kinda "obtain" a child but that more nick picking.

"Remake Magical Melody or Animal Parade" Throw in Tale of Two Towns and we'd on the same wavelenth. Or at least make a Island of Happiness > Sunshine Islands/ Tree of Tranquility > Animal Parade Equivalent. The two towns concept was fun, but I think ToTT rehash would benefit from the two communities actually being more fully integrated for more interaction.

without even trying to, this has ended up being one of my most played games of switch (over 200 hrs???) and my feelings on it are just "meh". but the gameplay loop is so low stress that it was a great game to just get lost in when I was tired/stressed
