I love me some big chips. Other day I watched a millwright running full speed on mild steel, making smoke, with an assistant just a-dousing the hole in lube. No clue.
HEY ! LISTEN YOU ¡! YOU DON'T BUY ! ME !! ANY NEW !! DRILL BITS !! WHEN ! THEY ! BREAK ! / BUST !! YOUR VIDEO !! IS ABSOLUTE ! UTTER !! CRAP !!! THIMBS !!! DOWN !!!!!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. After smoking three or four drillbits I decided to look up the proper way to drill in metal and your knowledge and techniques are spot on. Thank you so much!
Thanks great video, there is a technique to everything and you just showes myself and others we have been doing it wong and destroying drill bits. Thank you Sir!!🫡
Great video thank you for sharing your expertise I have been drilling wrong for many many many many many years I have learned a lot and will put to Great use
Cool edutainment video. I now know if I decide to install a lock on my black file cabinet, I would also need to use a stepper bit if the hole needs to be bigger to install that drawer lock.
Good advice. Remember, if you are using a larger bit, the drill speed at the edge is much faster than a small bit’s speed. Also, consider that if you’ve been doing it wrong, you may have work-hardened your workpiece, which can make it doubly hard to drill into. Don’t ask me how I know!
how vital it is, using correctly making sure that our tools last us a long time is one of the most crucial things people overlook. Thankyou so much, the video was very informative, simple and to the point.
This is my first time seeing that , just to know i have being using the drill bit the wrong way all the time , thanks to this guy i have learn something
Excellent video, Darrell - I learned a lot, thank you! I only wish you'd made more as I'm sure you have so much wisdom to impart to those of us still learning...
Tried your method of slow and hard......... No oil and the bit never even got hot. We made our metal curly-cues and before too long had all 4 holes drilled. Thank you 🤘✨
very good sir!! i told my friend not to drill fast and destroy the bits and he told me "that's an HSS drill bit no problem" after 2-3 holes the drill bit was burned.. it is so interesting to try do the same thing different way if you feel you do something wrong than keep doing the wrong all the time that cost more.. those drill bits are not free...
You covered a lot of issues here. Great demonstration. I appreciate it!!!

Excellent video!
This video saved a project I’m working on. Thanks!
Say I have a screw and it's a 3/4 hex or Phillips does that matter for what size drill bit I'm going to need to use to pre drill a hole?
I have been drilling wrong the whole time and blame on the bit😂 Foolish me... Thank you very much brother.. Glad l watch it through
Thank you for the thorough lesson Darrell.
