I'm Hispanic and we pronounce words how they're spelled. At work when I call African patients' names they always say "wowww you pronounced it correctly!" 😭 meanwhile my monolingual classmates are struggling.

Accents are how i can tell if someone is canadian or not! I know you're canadian if you pronounce Toronto like ter-ron-no, not to-RON-to Or Calgary like cal-gree, not cal-GAR-ry But after spending some time with people who arent Canadian, the biggest difference is that I slur my words. A lot. Like instead of "can i go to the store?" Its "canna go tuh the store" "Want me to take the dog for a walk?" Equals "wan-me tuh take the dog fora walk?" Basically, taking away useless syllables to get down to the bare bones of the sentence. Lol
