G&R Tigercat M726E Tracks System
Let me introduce you to our latest G&R Manufactured Solutions steel tracks design for shorter wheel based forestry equipment. This much needed system is slightly smaller and lighter on its feet, and perfect for smaller compact skidders, wheeled feller-bunchers and mulching machines. Here you see it working its heart out on a Tigercat M726E dedicated mulcher, in some of the worst conditions.
Like its current generation bigger brother, this system's newly updated manufactured components are custom engineered around today's commonly available modern construction equipment undercarriage components. No need to worry about parts availability with us. We intentionally give you the opportunity, privilege and honor of acquiring your own replacement parts as needed, if desired, avoiding you the hassle and unnecessary downtime. If you need our help with parts, we will of course be there to help.
Some very notable system design updates can be clearly seen in these videos. First, the roller frames now have open outside access ports to the roller attachment hardware, eliminating traditional broken bolt and thread damage scenarios... especially important in the field. Also, the rock guard ends and runners are extremely heavy-built for the rough forestry environments you thrive in, adding even more rigidity and strength to the center pivoting, "flat-footed" roller frames. The mounts themselves are custom designed and machine specific. The frame/track units are, in many cases the same, and are used on several different machine models. It is entirely possible to use the same tracks on more than one machine type as long as the mounts are acquired for the second, or third, machine. This is applicable even between manufacturer brands in the event that you change equipment. This is unusual in this day and age.

    I know there’s a time and place for these but not all of the time. Too much steel on steel. We run 535s and only get 1 1/2 years out of our ring chains. That’s 10,000 $ for all four every year and a half for just chains. These things have to be double that price I would assume.

  • @Delabeled
    @Delabeled Před rokem

    As a Forest Harvester Operator I will never understand the use of Skidders in thinning jobs. They destroy all the new growth and make the thinning useless. Might as well just clear cut everywhere a skidder is used. Harvester heads and forwarders would be so much more efficient. Sure some places might want full length trees but you would have so much more timber to work with if you didn't destroy all the new growth. Granted this is coming from someone who has been working in a country that actually tries to preserve it's forests.

      Careful operators and proper trail layout can make a world of difference. In my opinion the worst problem with rubber tire skidders is soil compaction.

    I like the tracks for ground pressure and traction. That grapple works great with a feller buncher other wise cable and chokers would have a lot less damage to the woods.

      @viseshseernam39 Před 3 lety

      yes sure but it should tailor suited tracks because this machine is huge and they have measure it then do a little calculation on this one concerning mass pressure on the ground this may take a little but it is possible

  • @austingillenwater2816

    Y'all should put a set of tracks on a 948l2 or a 632 tigercat and see what they will do! Probably have to put a wider set of tracks on a skidder that big!

    It appears that all that has to be done is replace the wheel with a sprocket, and bolt the track assembly to the existing planetary housing. It looks like it makes for a much smoother ride over stumps and things than tires. I still use these same 648 H's. The Tiger Cats use the same rear ends as the John Deeres. John Deere builds them for Tiger Cat.
