Also just realized tested boat in this video had VolvoGXi - Mine is Merc MPI. Probably explains the small difference in performance. Mine ran just a touch slower toward end of season than when bought (2-3 MPH and 2-3,000 RPM less). Maybe its all the junk I've accumulated - lol! Will see in a few weeks if new oil and tune-up helped. Can't wait!

TZakPol: Sorry I did not see your question till now. 1st - Congrats on the purchase! Pretty sure my prop is OEM (don't know size or pitch - its painted black). Same engine as yours. Sounds like the prop (or speedo), as we both get about 4800RPM - I just get a little more speed - and you probably have an after-market prop. Wondering also: How are things now? Did you get any more speed or RPM's? My upper range RPM's & speed match almost exactly: 48MPH at 4800RPM (+/- a bit).

Hello, At what rpm you get 48 to 50 mph? Also what prop you use? I can get mine only to 4800 rpm and 44 to 45 mph.

I went and I bought that 2007 monterey 214 fs. I paid 17,000 plus tax without trailer. I actually had 140.8 hr on it and now I have 167.6 and I love this boat. What prop you have on yours? I have 19 inch 3 blade alum. and I feel like it's not grasping water well on turns. Mine is also 5.0 MPI mercruiser with alpha one drive. Thank you for any info.

My advice is this: I just got a 2008 214fs (love it!) Paid $19k (no trailer). 190 hours, inside-stored and fresh-water used, great condition. My advice is to NEGOTIATE, considering I see them online for TEN THOUSAND MORE than I paid (and of course they are STILL for sale). To whomever posted the video: I noticed this one was running 55MPH at about 5200 RPM. Mine has the 5.0 MPI Mercruiser and tops out at 48-50 MPH at 5,000RPM (light or medium loads). Brand? Tune up? Age? Your thoughts?

You still have that boat? I'm looking at 2007 model with 154 hours, engine 5.0 mercrus. Anyone whith any advise?
