This beautiful small town nestled between the cliffs of the Cape Garden Route is definitely one of my favourite places to unwind and recharge. Whether you are into fishing, surfing, swimming, or just sitting on the balcony absorbing the views, this place is just right.

"Hemel-en-Aarde" translates to "Heaven-and-Earth". This aptly named valley is surrounded by mountains and hills overlooking the Indian Ocean. The valley is filled with picturesque vineyards and plenty of wineries, making this the perfect day-trip for wine tasting and a quality lunch.

The salt lake at Verlddrif on the West Coast of South Africa has a surreal red/pink colour due to the type of algae in the high salinity water. This makes for beautiful photo opportunities with flamingo colonies feeding around the lake.

Seeing the dam filled to its brim is indeed a sight for sore eyes after the 3-year drought that had Capetonians on their knees. The winter of 2020 brought plentiful rain and snow, filling Cape Town's major water source to nearly 100%.

During late winter/ early spring, the area around the aptly named town "Darling" turns into a lush oasis of colour. Green wheat plantations, yellow canola fields, and a vast spectrum of colourful wildflowers paint the canvas of nature into an annual masterpiece.

Winter in this area provides a beautiful contrast between lush green and bright yellow colours. Just because there are no leaves on the vines does not mean it is any less breathtaking than during summertime.

If you are ever in the area, do yourself a favour and visit the beautiful Muratie Wine Estate. The old-style cellar and tasting-room is filled with aged wine barrels and cobwebs and bursts of character, just like their wines. Situated on the Kromme Rhee road outside Stellenbosch, South Africa.

You are correct. The yellow flowers are canola plantations in bloom.

If one takes a bathtub that holds 100l before it overflows, half fills it with sand, will it still be 100% full of water when it overflows? No! We have the same issue here, the Theewaterskloof has a high silt load - clearly visible on pics when almost empty - although "nearly 100% full", is it really?

i hope they reduce our rates and ask us to use a bit more so that the water wont all be wasted. also the earthquakes might crack the dam so give us more water pressure please, to prevent that.

Adriana Scholtz This full dam is a beautiful sight. But if it is thanks to god then surely he should helping the people of PE who now basically have run out of water. He seems very erratic. Why is he somehow oblivious to the millions who have suffered the brutality in Syria for 9 years now. Or those who have been oppressed for 74 years in North Korea with starvation and state brainwashing and being jailed for talking ill of their dear leader who incidentally is also to be revered as a living god. God fills this dam but doesn’t intervene when fathers rape their own helpless children who are then scarred them for life. Perhaps it just rained a lot.

@@Mike-Bell Beloved, don't blame God for the choices and hardened hearts of man. They should be praying and repenting with a sorrowful heart, then He will hear their cries and prayers and heal the land. Unfortunately, if you don't believe in Christ Jesus and you're worshipping false gods (or self) like what you wrote above, then how will prayers reach the Most High God in order for Him to have mercy on you? People reject Him and then cry when things are tough. It didn't just rain, it all comes from Him.
