I've done Challenge on all classes except Mage, keep getting my ass handed to me by stage 8 and 16 boss over and over again and bad RNG

You lasted so long without an additional attack skill I would have desparately needed a gritty gust or monsoon or howling gale just because it makes clearing huge spawn faster. 118% avoid is insane lol

I've been capping daily with the ch 5 boss the last 2 days because its interesting to go in with different builds for every run. I always aim for the high def and had 2 runs with higher def/avoidability but average att which made the boss fight feel really long. My last run with low def/avoidability but having high att, crit rate, high lvl skills and lots of HP to waste felt more fun. Im just so addicted in trying out different builds for the boss fight I didnt expect to get this invested

MIKEY IM DEAD I DEFEATED APEP ON THE FIRST TRY WHEN I JUST PLANNED TO DO A SURVIVABILITY/PRACTICE RUN AKSJDHAJ I DIDNT EVEN HAVE FULL HEALTH GOING INTO THE BOSSFIGHT BUT MY RANDOM RELIC CRAFTING AND EARLIER STAGES GAVE ME 19k ATT 68 DEF AND 68 AVOID. I FEEL LIKE THE RED AND GREEN GROUND ATTACKS DONT ACTUALLY HIT WOW IM SHAKING FROM THE SURPRISE DEFEAT I REALLY WALKED INTO THE BOSS FIGHT THINKING IT WOULD BE A FAIL RUN BECAUSE I DIDNT HAVE WATER SHIELD OR FULL HEALTH BUT I KEPT SURVIVING LOL. I was definitely carried by that high def/avoid and this stupid coincidence will probably not happen again. Luckily I had gritty gust and howling gale before stage 10 to help me clear out mobs faster (and save my precious HP). My 2nd ever Ch 5 (Which was before this) was really bad I lost alot of HP unable to deal with huge mob spawn. This run also had the least amount of coin stages which could have helped me a bit at the end but I somehow pulled through which is crazy. Actually Apep didnt really feel as intimidating as the other two, but I'm just really bad at evading full map bullet attacks Thanks for documenting this side content on CZcams it has helped me alot I cant believe I got to finish the main normal modes.

i just cleared it on my bowman, shop before boss didn't have potion so i went in with 300 hp, but my revive mask and 50% avoid came in clutch and i barely beat him. the green and red geysers and meteors dont do any damage like the last chapter, and bringing an aoe clear for the mobs like monsoon is amazing. thanks for your guides for all the chapters. they really helped me throughout this gamemode~

if im starting fresh from chapter 1, do i have to grind everyday in order to complete all chapters?

your upgrades work for challenge mode. meaning it doesn't have the lower mob hp scaling from hardcore mode

Tips on the boss: Basically all you really have to worry about is when he turns purple with lightning around him. Get behind him. It's similar to the lazer in ch 3 and 4. The next attack to prioritize is the green homing arrows which are slow and easy to dodge. Other purple attacks (besides lightning) and when he turns yellow, you want to jump to avoid a tail swipe. You can still get hit though. Timing is weird. Red = meteors which are telegraphed but can overlap. Not sure if it actually hits but I dodge them anyways Green = poison geysers. Telegraphed and easily dodged. Blue = spawn mobs. Build some defense and some avoid like usual. Save your defense items for the boss, don't fuse all your items just yet. Try to break all the pots and get coins for things like buying stats. It's ok to take off attack items for some defense or avoid if it helps you live. It's a tanky boss, a ton of attack won't let you brute force it.
