    If you've all finished guessing, here are the facts (all documented): the Spanish brought tomato and potato plants back from the Americas in the 16th century but used them only for decoration. The Florentines were the first to eat the fruits of either plant AND the first to deep-fry anything in Europe, including potato strips! One should never underestimate the influence of the Italian Renaissance----do your homework!

So the very origins were from Germany by the end, just modified kn USA. German immigrants brought a lot of cultural influences to USA, especially in terms of Christmas (decorations), food _(hamburger, hotdog, Berliner krapfen)_ and even sports _(bowling > derives from medieval German Kegeln)_ .Bullsh¡t.. The precursor of today's hamburger is from Hamburg as stated also by you in the video _(Hamburg steak or in German called "Hamburger Rundstück", literally meaning "round piece of Hamburg")_ Even the ingredients like tartar steak (from Russia) and pickled cucumbers are from Europe. The last ingredient is especially used in Eastern Europe and Germany _(originally from China like sauerkraut which is fermented cabbage in vinegar)_ where also the other ingredient which is mustard is consumed with sausages at a big extent. Immigration braught these things to the US but nationalists would surely like to eliminate inconvenient things from the history books.. like always.
