Good afternoon! You have recorded a very informative video-thank you very much for it. But it does not seem to you that you have overlooked the main thing to add to the plot the flowering of 183 species of magnolias that grow in this botanical garden - and you need to devote considerable time to this, at least 30-45 seconds for each species. Thank you for your hard work and your work. Sincerely, Maxim Ryabov, your colleague from Russia

Some of us still use plants as medicine. They are food after all. Let thy food be thy medicine, thy medicine food. They are one and the same and have been for millennia, at least until corporations saw an opportunity to make big money, and that combination is never to be trusted. Give plants a try. You’d be surprised how healthy you will be, and no side effects!

In addition to plants that attract butterflies with their nectar-rich flowers, it's also important to include host plants in your garden. Host plants are specific plants that provide food and habitat for butterfly caterpillars. Here are some examples of host plants for butterflies: 1. Milkweed (Asclepias): As mentioned earlier, milkweed is the host plant for monarch butterflies. Monarch caterpillars exclusively feed on milkweed leaves. 2. Parsley, Dill, and Fennel: These plants are host plants for swallowtail butterflies, including the black swallowtail and the eastern tiger swallowtail. 3. Passionflower (Passiflora): Passionflower vines are host plants for the Gulf fritillary butterfly. The caterpillars feed on the leaves of these vines. 4. Nettles (Urtica): Nettles are host plants for various species of butterflies, including the red admiral and the comma butterfly. 5. Spicebush (Lindera benzoin): Spicebush is a host plant for the spicebush swallowtail butterfly. The caterpillars feed on the leaves of this shrub. 6. Pipevine (Aristolochia): Pipevine is a host plant for the pipevine swallowtail butterfly. The caterpillars feed on the leaves of this vine. 7. Senna (Cassia): Senna plants are host plants for the cloudless sulphur butterfly. The caterpillars feed on the leaves of these plants. 8. Violets (Viola): Violets are host plants for various species of fritillary butterflies, including the great spangled fritillary and the silver-bordered fritillary. By including both nectar plants and host plants in your garden, you can create a welcoming habitat for butterflies throughout their life cycle.

A small piece of mine that I have had over 1 year broke off last summer so I just stuck it in dirt and it grew. By fall this little piece had red bracts on it. Simple. They get the same light all year and now the mother plant has tons of red bracts on it. Goes out in summer then in for winter.

So my poinsettia was purchased in a pot with 3 other leafy plants that I want to keep alive. What I’m assuming is that I’ll need to remove the poinsettia from the arrangement and then continue along with the cutback and repotting that you demonstrated. That way I could possibly save both the leafy plants as well as the poinsettia. Does this sound right?

Apparently I have been watering a bit too much and certainly need to prune back the fading plant if I want to save it. I have one poinsettia that is 13 years old and one that is 8 years old. I kept them in the same pot and just water once a week. No fertilizer and never trimmed. They have sat on a table at a west facing window the whole time. This fall I finally repotted them into bigger pots and new soil. They both produce the coloured leaves each year between December and April.

@@viviancordoves4220mine do not get direct sunlight in the winter. In summer, they got about an hour of direct sunlight and they did great. I unfortunately got a very bad infestation of white flies. Thousands covered every poinsettia but thankfully did not bother any other plants I have. Took them all outside and used a hose but they were sticking to the leaves and I could see eggs covering every leaf. They were outside for a couple of weeks and hundreds of those flies would fly all over when shaking the branches. I cried my heart out having to throw them all out. Especially when the plants were still alive and healthy but could not rid the flies and could not take them back into the house.
