Hi, I’m Jenny, a garden lover and flower enthusiast from Northern California (zone 9b). No matter how much I learn about gardening, there is always something new to discover. Watching the process of a seed or bulb turn into a beautiful plant brings me so much joy. What’s better than making a flower arrangement and bring the outdoors inside? Or better yet, sharing a home-grown bouquet with a family member or friend? My garden is a place to decompress and connect to nature. Join me on my gardening journey!
Cut Flower Garden in the Landscape // Spring Abundance!
Hi fellow gardeners! I've been working on a cut flower garden in the landscape for the last several years and this spring it finally feels like its starting to come together. I'm bringing you along to walk through the landscape, cut flowers, and create a floral arrangement with me in my Northern California (zone 9b) garden.
I planted a variety of daffodils last fall, including orangery, pink charm, and the classic king alfred daffodils. The freesia's planted two years ago are flowering and giving off a great scent. I'm super excited about the ranunculus because its' my first year planting them successfully and harvesting flowers. And the mini rose has erupted with flowers! I hope the fence is strong enough to hold it up! I hope this gives you some inspiration for what you can do with cut flowers in your gardens.
As always, thank you for watching and supporting this channel!

Garden with me // Planting Hellebores and Dahlias // Spring Bulbs
zhlédnutí 177Před 3 měsíci
Hello fellow gardeners! Garden with me during my favorite time of the year - spring! In this video, I'm planting a hellebore that's is long overdue to be put into the ground. Get a peak at the other plants in my shade garden. My dream is to add different varieties of hellebores to eventually use as cut flowers. I don't have drip irrigation in this area of my garden, so everything will need to b...
March Garden Tour // Tulips, Daffodils, Ranunculus, Amaryllis blooms!!

Hello fellow gardeners! This March Garden Tour was such a joy to film and I'm so excited to share it with you! We worked hard planting spring bulbs during the cold days of fall and winter. Now, together, we get to sit back and enjoy the fruit of our labor! The March garden is FULL of beautiful blooms! The spring bulb containers we planted lasagna style are blooming (somewhat in succession as pl...
Scilla Peruviana (BULB to FLOWER!) // How to plant, grow, and harvest!
zhlédnutí 549Před 4 měsíci
The Scilla Peruviana bulb surprised me most this past winter! It is a must-try for every gardener in Zones 8-10 (sometimes 7!) who love cut flowers. I wasn’t expecting it to be so easy and rewarding to grow. Each day in the winter as the foliage of most other plants was dying back, the Scilla Peruviana was thriving! It started growing leafy greens almost immediately (about 1-2 weeks) after plan...
DAFFODILS in BLOOM + Planting GLADIOLUS, LILIES, and DAHLIAS
zhlédnutí 1,2KPřed 5 měsíci
It's February and the daffodils are in bloom! It's definitely feels like an early spring here, so the groundhog got it right :D We've been having a ton of rain over the last few days that just trample the daffodils over and lead them to have a shorter lifespan, so I'm harvesting everything I can now before even more rain clouds roll in. I'm also planting summer bulbs! I was originally inspired ...
10 FLOWERS I'm starting from SEED (+ RANUNCULUS BLOOMS in FEBRUARY!)
zhlédnutí 1,5KPřed 5 měsíci
Here are 10 flowers I'm starting from seed this year :) I'm excited to be growing a lot of new flowers that I've never grown before. I've picked a lot of drought-tolerant varieties, as we get close to no rain from May-October/November here. I also picked out some flowers that can tolerate shade, as part of my garden is near the fence. If I had to chose one flower that I'm most excited to grow t...
Planting AMARYLLIS OUTDOORS!
zhlédnutí 1KPřed 5 měsíci
I decided to plant amaryllis outdoors in the garden after purchasing three large bulbs from Costco. This is an experiment I'm doing, considering I've never planted them outdoors before. (after filming this video, I started thinking I should have planted the bulbs deeper into the ground, with around 1 inch of soil above them to protect from frost - much different than planting them in pots where...
Planting SPRING BULBS // THE LASAGNA METHOD
zhlédnutí 1,4KPřed 5 měsíci
I'm planting spring bulbs again using the lasagna method of layering, in hopes this will produce weeks of flowers in the spring! I always start by planting the largest bulbs on the bottom (daffodils), mid-sized bulbs in the middle (tulips), and small bulbs at the top (crocus and iris). I also did some experimenting at the end with cool flowers (hardy annuals)! I'll be sharing the results in the...
April Garden Tour (just edited!)

I just edited this April garden tour I filmed back in spring 2023. It's the dead of winter, and I figured we can all enjoy a springtime garden tour! I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed editing it. It was so refreshing to see the garden full of life and it makes me excited for this coming spring. I'm curious to see how the garden will change. Enjoy the cottonwood trees, azaleas, ro...
How to plant BEARDED IRIS (+ UPDATE at 2 months!)
zhlédnutí 211Před 6 měsíci
In this video, I'm showing you how to plant bearded iris the unconventional way. And guess what, it works! So far anyway.. Because I'm working in such tight quarters among other plants, and due to the heavy clay soil, the conventional method just wasn't going to work for me. I came up with a method of planting bearded iris that worked in my garden. I use my bulb planter to punch out holes, as I...
Garden with me! // January garden
zhlédnutí 233Před 6 měsíci
Come and garden with me as I prune back the hydrangea, plant daffodils, enrich the soil in the garden, cut back peonies for the winter, and prune roses. The hydrangea is now taller than the fence. I'm hoping a hard prune this winter will mean less sun damage on the flowers in summer (if the avocado tree is tall enough to provide it shade). I still have so many spring bulbs to plant, even though...
How to START SEEDS! (+ UPDATES at weeks 1, 2, 4, and 6)

It's time to start seeds again! I am starting these seeds very early, as it's still the dead of winter in my zone 9b garden. I was just too excited and couldn't wait! I actually started filming this video in January 2023 and it is now December 2023, which means I'm ready to give you my progress report. There was one flower that really thrived in our VERY HOT and DRY summers. Can you guess which...

Hi ma'am, wonderful share, can you please wipe out the dust from the fiddle leaf fig, the dust may be choking the Stomata from the leaves, which could be the reason that it is dying
Hi. Does Home Depot have online store or worldwide like ebay?
"not much is happening outdoors" but you decide to cut those beautiful flowers?!? What a strange "policy" and way of enjoying them!
Hi, your video is so good. I want to invite you to try the solar water fountain. How can I contact u?
I have given up on bleeding hearts. I have tried to grow them 5 or 6 times over the years in different locations, and the outcome is typically the same: they do great the first year, they come up the second year (looking smaller and more anemic) but almost never for a third year. Have no idea why - they never seem distressed or diseased. They just don't come up again.
🌼💕 keep up the gardening!
Always!
Those yellow and cream flowers are so bright and cheery! 😄 Could have easily made 2-3 bouquets out of all those!
❤❤❤
Woww where is this I’m in socal and here my fruit trees are branching out

@@WhereTimeBegan ur welcome
great sustainable gardening as we all need. good to see your tulips are coming back.
The double tulips coming back has definitely been one of the biggest surprises this spring. Thanks for watching! 😁
Lovely flowers, I’m planning to add flowers in my garden this video came, thanks for the garden tour
Thank you for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed it 😁
Hello I Garden in Minnesota. You have an amazing Garden. The plants may be different but the fundamentals are the same so I'm definitely will be watching thanks for posting
Thank you! What kind of plants are you growing in your garden this year? I imagine your spring flowers come later than ours here in zone 9b?
I'm definitely going to be putting in some rose shrubs, lilies have been missing in this garden and some various flowers yet to be determined. My garden tends to be more on the shade side, but every year it seems like I get more sun because of neighbors cutting their trees down or trimming.
We can start planting trees and some shrubs now. Most flowers are planted as early as mother's Day or just after
I’m also planting lilies for the first time this year! I’m growing different varieties in hopes of having longer bloom times in n the summer :) And I’m also currently working on my shade garden adding hellebores, hostas, and bleeding hearts :)
Hellebores are intriguing to me. I had looked into planting some last year but in my zone may not get a flower . They would be perfect for your shade area because of your long growing season
So beautiful! All the different flowers blooming in all their glory. Nice job, good reminder that hard work pays off and no matter how long winter is, spring time will come
Very true! There is always the hope of spring during the long cold winter 💕
Your spring bloom containers are lovely and colorful! I love the way they turned out! I’m in SF Bay Area in zone 10a, I never had success with planting in pots. My bulbs rotted with all the rain. I finally moved my pots into the garage but they didn’t perform well. Did you have to cover your pots from alI the rain we had this year ? Thank you for sharing. 🌷 🌱 🪻 🌱 🌷 🌱 🪻 🌱 🌷 🌱 🪻
Thank you! 😁 I didn’t covered the containers, though we also received a lot of rain. I usually purchase the moisture control potting soil from Costco and drill at least three drainage holes on the bottom of the containers. Thanks for watching! Hope that helps!
@@WhereTimeBegan Thank you for your quick response , that’s good to know. I will try again next year! Happy planting 🪴
Yes, there is always next year! I had trouble with my ranunculus the first year (they dried up when I went traveling a couple weeks last May). But this year they’re blooming beautifully!
Such a lovely blooms for March, Thanks for the garden tour.

What a pretty bouquet!! 😍
Spring is on the air!!!
It feels so early this year compared to last year! 😁👏🏼
Hi! I really like gardening. I live in Tuscany quite near Florence, in the hills of Montespertoli, one of the city of wine. I love too much daffodils, irises, simple roses, gladiolus and chrysanthemum, but our summer are every year much warmer, several day up to 36' C so when I go to holiday it's a bit a problem 😅
I love Italy! I was lucky enough to be able to visit last year in May and I was in awe of the poppy superbloom in Tuscany and really everywhere we went (I made a CZcams short about it 😁). The funny part is that before I left, my ranunculus was as about to bloom, and when I got back, they all dried up from the heat, so I know exactly what you mean!
@@WhereTimeBegan yes, poppies are magnificent, I'll see soon your tuscan video and the others! I really like daffodils and all the flowers.
Ooo love the thunderstorm vibes. Sucks the flowers all got knocked though. Makes for a beautiful bouquet at least!
A lot of them actually straightened back up after the sun came out :) I was happy to see that!
Peonies are my favorites! Can't wait to see all your beautiful bulbs in full bloom!🌻🌼🌷
Thank you! I will definitely be making an updated video when they are all in bloom 😁
They smell so good I wishes they last longer
Bowl of beauty are so amazing flowers ! These are the most beautiful flowers I have planted in my garden THanks for this beautiful sharing !
Thank you! How long did it take your bowl of beauty to produce flowers? I’m very excited for this peony :)
Basil will spread everywhere. Trust me we planted one lemon basil plant 4 years ago and now have 100s of them come up each year.
Thanks for sharing! I will definitely keep this in mind.
NEW FRIEND HERE! UR Garden is colorfully ❤❤
Thank you! 😁
Im assuming what you mean by a hard prune is that you cut them back even more?
Yes, exactly! I cut back the roses more than in previous years :)
This idea is awsome! I absolutely love these. Can i ask how long do these last? I do alot with succulents so id love to try this.
Thank you! They lasted around 1.5 months. I kept them on the kitchen table. The marigolds did dry up and got smaller, so if there is one thing I’d change, I would use dried flowers over fresh flowers :)
Ohhh I'm coming running 🏃🏻♀️
Hope you find what you’re searching for! 😁
Oooo can’t wait to see all the flowers bloom! Good job! Big sister support! 👏😆
Thank you! 🤗

Nice! Enjoy! I have some out in the garden that I planted 20 years ago and they get huge blossoms.
Thats great to hear! What zone are you in and how deep did you plant them? 😁
@@WhereTimeBegan HI! I'm in zone 10a Los Angeles. It's a Dancing Queen in a very large pot with a Plumeria tree and Jade plant. Now it gets at least 3 or 4 flower stocks with 5 HUGE flowers on each. They like cooler roots and hot tops. Love your channel!
Thank you! Plumerias are my favorite flower! I had a few in containers but they died after a frost a few years ago. You are so lucky that they thrive in your zone! 😊
Nice garden.
Thank you! 😁
I sprayed my rose bush with baking soda and water.
That’s interesting! How much baking soda do you mix with water? And what time/season do you spray?

I noticed you mentioned your cala lilies, perennials need to be divided every two to three yrs somthing to think about 🙂🙂
Thanks for sharing! The cala lilies have never been divided since they were planted and still seem to bloom well each year (with the exception for the smaller plants in front). I may have to dig some out and see what I’m working with!
When it comes to peonies they are a full sun plant..6 to 8 hrs of sun, otherwise they struggle to bloom..happy gardening 👨🌾👨🌾
