Blimey Gav, your wife is a keeper! I'd like that Peter Green one - it sounds right up my street. I like Haircut 100 too. Good album. I have several Nick Heyward 12" singles that soon followed the dissolution of H100. I know that Malvern shop. Downstairs in the cheap shop he had a loads of very nice classical albums, and there was plenty of interest upstairs too.

Excellent commentary, Gav. Talking of the UK 'dress' sleeve, a copy is being offered next month at the auction house I buy most of my records from so I will be able to see it - would expect it to sell for big money.

I got there st 4am fir the Bowie Ziggy release on RSD And love th production and the songs but was really disappointed I didn’t get anything new I got the single vinyl of this as l collect Vinly and in case I had a lot of the songs I was just gonna listen to the rest on Spotify nut THANK YOU I, NOW GONNA GET THE BOX SET as well based on your excellent review. I just posted the Bowie tv advert for the Legacy advert on my site Solid Sounds music on instagram and it ends with line The Mac & his music celebrate an Icon and that he was even another icon said when he died he was the most important artist of any generation

Well put together and delivered Gavin. Excellent video. I got back into Bowie again when Ryko was the first label that had the rights to reissue his 70's catalog in the early 90's. Hang onto that Ryko copy: long out of print! 😎🎶

Great vid Gav, What a lot of silly nonsense over that dress sleeve. I recall that when I was in the US 72/3 I was doing College radio and we had the TMWSTW cover that you featured US copy think it was on Mercury. Anyhow it was gatefold . Anyway in the early 80s in RC small ads people desperately wanting to buy the Dress cover version

Nice collection. Sold and gave all all of my vinyl from '77 to '82 (to Groucho's in Dundee). Really don't miss them. I had all of the UK vinyl releases plus the SC & Jam boxed sets. It seemed important at the time not to hang on to them once I converted them to digital.

Just taken delivery of “here’s some that got away” on 2nd hand cd from 1993 - has a further 10 months unreleased songs / demos plus 12 b side - it’s also excellent so worth hunting down - thanks to @beatleytonebeatleschannel for the heads up on that one ☝️

For a so called big big David Bowie fan it would help if this guy pronounced his name correctly. 🙄 Very annoying, so much so It stopped me watching after only a couple of minutes.

Hi Gav. Thoroughly enjoyed this. We’re probably a similar age so, like you, I first really got into Bowie in the early 90’s. I’m a big fan of his 90’s records. I saw him on both the Outside and Earthling tours. Not necessarily his best records but they were the records that I picked up on the day of release. Heathen is a really underrated record. I think it’s one of his best albums. Certainly better than The Next Day, which seems to get far more attention. Cheers! John

Hi mate, great to hear your little story of your personal evolution of being a fan. i love both Tin Machine albums, i think theyre great. im actually not a huge fan of the "ziggy" or "diamond dogs" album (yes i like them but i dont love them... glad to know you are a big Prince fan, Lynne is a huge fan and although it really like him im only really discovering his complexity now. great video! - Lloyd
