This may be the worst soldering video on youtube. He holds the circuit board with big sharp jaws that are sure to cut any traces as it shifts around. His addition of a galvanized spring is complete voodoo. And his soldering iron is oxidized from hell. The whole problem here fixed by properly cleaning your surface. We've all been in that exact situation where the solder is not behaving correctly, not sticking, not flowing onto the component or traces. This is because a layer of oxidation builds up and basically increases the surface tension of the solder. Resin cleans that up and makes things flow "magically" again. use resin, people. It'll change your life (while soldering, anyways)

Eek! That is terrifying, the idea of that monstrosity going to pieces while using it. That is not even starting on the fact that they just spent $5 worth of CA glue to make a bit they could buy 10-20 of for the same money.

I prefer my high speed rotating tools to NOT have a significant risk of energetic disassembly. Especially when I can buy an good abrasive bit for a couple of bucks instead of wasting my precious time. I'll build a tool, jig, or fixture anyday when it makes sense. This doesn't.
