I either (a) play 2s with my friend which I still enjoy doing more than any other game or (b) I main 1s now because playing with Randoms is incredibly annoying. Most of the content is pretty stale which I get. Best of luck!

You know whats crazy im 33 and have been playing since launch and i still love playing the game. My only real concern js how toxic a lot of the players can be in the chat, but i just dont care to engage with them, but that is not a unique problem to RL, its basically a "gamer" problem. I never watching rocket league youtube content, i dont even know what RL content could even look like besides 1. Strats 2. Funny moments 3. Cool tricks but none of that really appeals to me. Since youre a content creator i could understand your frustration with lack of new content, but i think the core game is and has always been so close to flawless that it still holds up to this day, and i always find myself wanting to get better. I hope you can still join in a queue with a friend (randos often just bring down morale) and can enjoy the core gameplay again some day, not worried about making content. If doing the game as a "job" in a sense that youre only doing it for content is going to leave you frustrated. Happens to all sorts of creators and their game of choice.

Started in 2016. Was addicted for 4 years. Once you hit your skill ceiling the game gets stale. Now i only play private matches with mostly the same people i started the game with in 2016. They took away too much of what built thier community. I dont blame you one bit. Come play some fun games. New sub buddy ill follow you on your youtube journey.

It's just really sad that I saw this coming YEARS ago and the community never felt like the game was turning in the wrong direction until it was way too late. Like back in 2020 I made a reddit post about it, which earned me A LOT of hate. I myself quit the game in 2021 and as expected it only ever got worse and worse. I said the game would be getting a Battle Pass and wildly overpriced skins and that Psyonix's creativity would suffer drastically as Epic would use Rocket League to heavily promote Fortnite. Cant say I didn't tell you... I'm sad for my first ever competitive online game turning into dust but on the other side I don't really care for Epic Games at all and I'm glad one their games is dying.

I 100% agree with you with the game modes theres so many new type of game modes that they could be adding or inspire to take some from other creators but instead focuses on other stuff which add a little bit but not much

well the RL streaming and video scene might be dying, the game i doubt as it still has tons of players. i feel its a good thing honestly ... you can only milk a cow that much ... just let rocket league be a fun game to play ... i play still alot but i stopped watching nearly all content because everything is already done ...

The game isn't dead. Just for people trying to get money out of it by making "content". I clicked the video because I was curious about your your opinion. Friends of mine and myself been playing it for years now and still have fun. Our skill is dogshit, but who cares. I like to compare it to chess is some way...how old is chess?? People still enjoy it. I think it's a matter of how you look at the game. What you are playing it for.. To me, it's a game I enjoy for having a good time with my friends.

I'm sick of this constant rhetoric to bash on games with claims "it dYiNg!" because I've seen so many people like you it feels like those crazy homeless people carrying "tHe eNd iS NiGh!" signs while shouting bible verses of the apocalypse. That's you, bro! Why so harsh? I'm a boomer gamer who's seen many people like you trash on games and pronounce "tHiS gAmE iS dEaD!1" a thousand times. I was around World of Warcraft around every expansion release when, naturally, the player population declines until rebounding, but a thousand crybabies like you scream in the forums "gAmE iS dYiNg!" It's happened in Minecraft, early CS GO, and dozens of very successful, very popular games that have been around decades. There's always people like you, and TBH, **you** are the problem with the community. Crying about the new younger casual player-base because you can't relate to them. It happened around the time RL became "faster" with more aggressive ball chasers and all these kids trying to be like Zen and do solo plays in team matches. The classic "bALlChAsEr!" and "what a save!" aggression. Don't like it? turn chat off or play with friends so you don't have to solo queue. Because let's be real, "toxicity" isn't a uniquely Rocket League problem. Every single online multiplayer game that depends on team work for success has the same problems. I see it in LoL, CS, Starcraft and all other multiplayer games. It's not a Rocket League thing. So stop blaming the game for it... RL is quite a simple idea; put ball in opponents net more than they put ball in yours. That's it. But it has an extraordinary high skill-ceiling and the required individual skill-set and team work to have fun and win games is **enormous** It's actually a super complex game. I like how you show the stat sheet of declining players but it's a select snapshot of only last few months and really... isn't that bad. I'm glad you showed the % too because a decline of 0.12% doesn't make a "dEaD gAmE!1" brother. It's sad to see any decline at all, but you chose to display 0.12% decline as an example of a "dYiNg gAmE!" Wow I also like how you mention creators leaving and only mention Thanovic. Naturally, people eventually leave games no matter how bad or good it is. The loss of Thanovic is sad but...whatever. You can only name 1 guy who left? That's lazy. I can name more but it's irrelevant. You also show screenshots of Rocket League only having 2K viewers on Twitch. When did you get that? Did you wait up until 3AM on the quietest night of the year to take that because streamers such as AlphaKep, ChiefBeef, Squishy and many other RL streamers are doing well. Those three particular streamers get 1K every day each, and there's a huge list of RL Twitch streamers. Whenever an RLCS is on, the collective goes into 6 digits and rivals the top billing on Twitch viewers. So... you're cherry picking data for your agenda which is easy to disprove. Streamers are still getting audiences in the thousands and RLCS still draws big numbers. The player-base is hardly dipping. 0.12% could be the number of bots banned or smurfs abandoning their alt accounts. 0.12% is so insignificant it's petty that you even showed it on screen as an example to prove your point that the game is (allegedly) "dYiNg!1" I said earlier that YOU are the problem because if you actually loved the game then you would give constructive criticism on how it could be improved, not bash on it for a CZcams video like a crybaby and leave. Just leave if you're not going to be productive about it. You don't need to slam the door as you leave and upset other people still having fun. On your point about RL being "boring" I don't understand what people like you expect? You want Lethamyr type maps released every month? You know those are just fads, right? The vast 99% of RL players just want to do Standard, 2v2 and 1v1. If you actually looked at the real stats of the player-base, Extra-Modes only accounts for small % of the players lobbies. I don't know what you expect from a basic game which is about "soccer with flying cars" and expect "new modes". We already have plenty of modes people don't play. Just last season we had the "rival" feature where they'd put in new Extra-Mode in casual playlist and whichever was more popular would stay, the other was rotated out for another extra-mode. Heatseeker 2v2 stayed the entire season because nobody wanted to play the other modes. I tried queueing for dropshot; no games. I tried queuing for knockout; no games. Heatseeker was unbeaten the entire season and guess what? We have Heatseeker in tournament schedule again (at least in my region) People don't want Extra-Modes. If you want modded maps, then go make modded maps and play it with your friends. The tools are there for you, go. Make. That's how gaming communities work. The community makes tools (like Bakkesmod) to customise maps and people play it with their friends. Go, make your maps, bro. You cry about voice-chat. Okay... it used to suck. It doesn't now. Why even mention that. It's fixed. Go speak. I can only partially agree with one thing you said; the loss of trading sucked. But you know what... as an older gamer I actually understand why they did that. Yes, it's partially due to greed, but it's also more complex than that and would take another 8 paragraphs to explain why. Partially due to scams. Partially due to abuse of items. It's easy to create multiple alts and grind season events to gather crates and pass them to your main account and end up with hundreds of crates and enormous item libraries. Using this to hoard and manipulate the trading market etc. etc. Let's be real. People were using it to abuse the system. Do I miss trading? Yeah but whatevs. I didn't start playing RL to trade cosmetic items IDGAF about. I play to smash balls in nets. The fancy wheels and decals didn't make me smash balls better. If I wanted "cool rare" items then I could use Bakkesmod. I'm not saying the game is perfect, but it's not dying and I'm sick of you crybabies sooking about it. Take a break. Go play some Minecraft with Thanovic.

It's not an airfield you don't have to announce your departure. Rocket league and it's tournaments are still big it's just not for you anymore, easy to be unreasonably negative about everything about it when you're quitting.

Well said. I was hooked for 4 years straight until 2023/2024. Got GC, loved it, and suddenly in 2024 the game seemed to get toxic threefold. It’s just simply unenjoyable, don’t think I’ll ever be back and im kinda happy lol

Well this is bullshit I just started playing the game and I'm old as hell. Now I learn people are leaving it. What's next? Farmville? Kony 2012?!?

I still love playing the game. At it's core, it is a very good game. But Epic's decisions to "improve" it have done the opposite. Clearly Heatseeker doubles is a favorite game mode, but they haven't made it a competitive mode. And then they are still alternating between Dropshot (my favorite mode) and Snowday (my third favorite mode) while keeping Hoops and Rumble (Which I absolutely hate). And we don't always have access to Chaos mode anymore so 4 player team ups are out the window. I used to collect items, but I stopped caring when they killed trading. And with the shrinking player base, the matches get harder and harder as I get better and better while being stuck at the same rank.

I mean i get it why for you it has got boring but for me this game is something i can just sit down whenever i have time get some games in and hop off i am low champ been playing for 750h or so and i love the feeling it gets me close to playing real sports in real life, i play 3s mostly really rarely other modes but they should add some more content would be fun. And about content i don’t need any elaborate videos all i need is to sit down and watch Squishy play and i am like got damn that is freaking clean and i have fun watching his videos just playing those 5 min games don’t need anything else but that’s just me 😁
