This is Wellington Point cool video. I got discharged from hospital today & the guy who wheeled me out to the car told me about your video channel because of the fishing shirt I had on. He started asking me do I like fishing & have you heard about Marty who has his own fishing channel on CZcams. Keep up the content I’ve subscribed & have watched two of your videos. Will be watching more. 🧑🌾🤟🎣🐟
@@flyrodder1404 Thanks mate I’m glad you enjoyed it. I hope you stay well and can get out there and catch a few yourself. 🙂👍🤙
Awesome 🤩 good fishing 🎣 mate. Thanks for showing us what’s on the sounder, always good to learn what to look for. Cheers 🍻 mate
@@arnoldrudder9624 You’re very welcome mate, I’m glad you enjoyed the vid. I’ll try and put more sounder info in my vids from now on. 👌🙂
Love the boat. It obviously does the job well. Can I ask what shaft length and thrust is the motorguide. Do you find it handles the weight of the boat?
Good video mate very informative :) new sub here mate
@@tightdrags Thanks heaps mate, I’m glad you enjoyed it! 🙏👌
Hey mate, I was the first fish you caught. Thanks for saying I feel big. It's tough out here being an undersized bream. Much love, BREAM FAMILY. Toro Taki Taku!
Good fish bro what side of peel island where you on?
@@mikygoonie1087 Thanks mate, I was on the eastern side. 🤙👍
Great video mate, Crushed it!
@@RapalaAus Thanks heaps for the support guys! 👌🙂
Great vids very useful tips for beginner like me. May I ask what best speed to get those perfect side image? Are you using electrical motor or just drifting the current? Appreciate for some tips on how you work the electrical motor with the sounder as well. Looking forward to your next video. Cheers.
@@XBWang-yl2uh I think from memory 4-6 km/h is best for accurate side images on still objects. I’m glad you enjoyed it buddy. 👌🙂🤙
Dude I struggle to catch fish in Brisbane anywhere , I have a good hummingbird sounder but also find it hard to find fish or bait … I don’t have an electric motor do you think that makes a big difference to not shut down fish with a loud motor?
@@mrawesome001 you’ll get there buddy I certainly didn’t learn straight away. I’ve got to say the electric motor is just as important as the sounder, if not more when you’re fishing for bread and butter species. Most importantly one complements the other. If you’re lure fishing in areas like I do an electric motor is not as effective if you don’t have a sounder and a sounder is not as effective if you don’t have an electric motor. I use the electric to quietly move around and look for fish on the sounder and when I find them it’s important to use the electric to correctly adjust my drift, or position the boat to effectively target them. I often use the electric and the sounder together to locate and stick with a school of fish as long as possible. 👌🙂
👍
An excellent video Marty. It would be great if you could highlight what you’re looking for/at on the sounder with future videos too.
@@JH-nh9xx thanks buddy and yeah no worries can do. 👍✌️

@@dota2lol942 you’re welcome buddy and definitely I’ll try and put more sounder info in from now on. 👍👌
I'm surprised you are not snagging some threadies there.
I find with my AT2 I use forward mode more than anything as its a bit easier in my opinion. you can see what section in the water column they are sitting and know exactly where to cast.
@@nugdam8758 I think you’re right on the money there mate. When I use it to target threadfin I find them on the side scan, put the AT2 down on scout mode just to see how much they’re moving around and what they’re behaving like, then place it in forward mode to properly start fishing to them.
@@martytuckerfishing I need to try scout mode a bit more, I have it down to a T chasing bass on it now. Its so much fun in the local dam.
@@nugdam8758 yeah I can imagine buddy. I haven’t tried it in the fresh yet, I definitely should though.

Thanks for the helpful tips on the sounder. Have you tried Luggage point at the mouth? I have caught some really good bream there.
@@Grimaceshake49 No worries at all mate. Yeah I used to fish Luggage point a lot but not for a fair while now. When I first started fishing the Brisbane River it was one my favourite areas for big bream flathead and jew. We’re pretty lucky with the quality of bream fishing around Brisbane. I think it’s as good as just about anywhere, but it often gets overlooked because all of the other amazing species we have at our fingertips. 🙂👍
@@martytuckerfishing Yeah man. Keep up the good work

@@Murarrie Cheers buddy, I’m glad you enjoyed it! 🙂👍
did you sounds up the Jew or just blind cast? I've sounded the port for hundreds of hours and haven't found schools yet. sometimes pairs.
@@JP-cy4uk Hey mate. It depends where in the port. If it’s down along the terminals then yeah I won’t wet a line until I see a few on the imaging and will specifically target the fish I see. Over the deep reef I’ll usually have a quick sound to see if there’s a big schools if there isn’t I’ll just start doing drifts over likely areas. 👍🙂
@@martytuckerfishing thanks. Is that because you might miss them on the sounder within the structure?
@@JP-cy4uk yeah basically, they’ll sit very low and close to the structure if there’s a lot of current around.
Your video is inspiring and frustrating Marty. Inspiring because I can clearly see how you caught those beautiful jewfish. Frustrating because my mate and I tried that area last Friday and couldn’t get any interest. We were there just after the low, so not a lot of run from the small incoming tide while the light wind was holding us in position. Will have to give it another go. Keep those great videos coming.
@@JH-nh9xx thanks mate! They’re not always there. I definitely prefer the run out tide and a far bit of current. Covering ground usually helps unless there’s a big concentrated school of them. Often they’ll sit in ones and twos over a large area which is why I like to cover a fair bit of ground if I’m not seeing a lot on the sounder. 👍🙂
Hey man, me and my dad have been using your vids as a complete fishing guide for Brisbane River fishing, what's your biggest tip for sounding around the river and what tides to fish?
@@Grimaceshake49 Hey mate. It very much depends on what I’m fishing for plus where I’m fishing, and that will dictate how I use the sounder to locate those fish. When it comes to those deep reefs in the port and chasing jew around them. One of the most important things to look for on both the down scan and side scan is structure in 8m plus of water that also looks like it would create breaks in the current. Jew are fairly lazy and often will sit either in front or behind these peaces of structure. The bit of structure doesn’t have to be overly large (1m in height is heaps). Jew also love to sit around ledges, if you can find a ledge on your sounds and set your drift to run along it your going to be on with a good shot. I hope this helps mate. 👌👍
@@martytuckerfishing Thanks for the really in depth response I will try this out on my next session! Have a good one
@@Grimaceshake49 your welcome mate.
Thanks Marty !
@@MickH60 no worries mate! 🙂👌
Good vid Marty.
@@peterclose1530 thanks mate glad you enjoyed it. 👍🙂
Enjoyed watching this Marty. Love to see that you’re looking after the jewies. Do you change scroll speed and ping speed while spotlocked or slow drifting?
@@henrydangg Thanks mate! Nah I keep everything the same, I make too many adjustments on the electric to worry about changing the ping and scroll speeds. 👍🙂
Thanks for the content
@@gdaam1377 No worries mate I enjoy making it! 👌🙂
Looks like a great session. Two jewies is nothing to complain about.
@@ArbyCreations Yeah mate, it was a great way to finish off a work day that’s for sure! 👍
Nice vids mate, may I ask do you spot lock or keep drifting to have a good image on side scan when targeting the fish? I’m quite curious that you keep watching the sounder and adjust the direction to cast while I found myself hard to get any good image on sidescan using spot lock…thanks heaps for suggestions.
@@XBWang-yl2uh there’s a lot to unpack in that question. I really need to do a specific video on how I use my sounders when I fish, because showing would be 100x better than just explaining. I often move the boat a little bit if I can’t see fish moving past the transducer. If you’re spot locked the image you you get is very dependent on whether the fish are moving or saying still. If you’re spot locked beside fish that aren’t moving they’ll show up as a line but if the fish are moving you may get a better image. When your spot locked any structure will come up as a line because it’s not moving but moving fish may come up as a more circular shape depending on how fast they’re moving. There’s a whole lot of variables that will affect your image and interpreting the images just takes practice.
Hi Marty great thanks for helping me to understand how it works. Keen to watch your next video. Cheers
Are those threads supposed to be good eating?
Yeah mate not bad at all. 👍
What side of mud island were you at? Caught nothing but bloody grinners out there
Southwest side and yes some days the grinners are so thick out there you get nothing else.
@joelmyers3955 I’m glad I’m not the only one. I got a record haul of them Sunday. Nothing else. Big ones too!
I gave the watermelon red grub a shot on the weekend and caught my 1st fish on a plastic! Appreciate the tips mate

Hi Marty great fishing. Do you think you could do me a favour and wear a lifejacket? I’m an old bloke now but I fell out once tripping over thhe anchor rope. I was on my own and it almost ended my life. I’m just hypersensitive to young guys who are great at fishing but may overlook something that happens so easily.
Thanks for the video Marty...
Thanks heaps man, I really appreciate your support! 🙂🤙🙏
Gotta love when a bloke gets spoon fed a few spots then makes a video at them spots and shows the location for a few minutes of fame.
No one showed me these areas I found them on my own. Plus the area doesn’t matter, what matters is whether or not there’s fish there at the time (fish can be anywhere on any given day). The other important thing is whether or not the angler can find the fish and then actually catch them. ✌️
Gotta love it when some random in the comments has no idea what he's talking about and makes stupid assumptions.... I don't know how long you've been fishing mate, but there's plenty of things in this guys video's to show he knows what he's doing. I have no idea what drives you salty guys, but it's always funny to see how clueless people like outing themselves in the comments....
@MickH60 I've fished that river for many years, and I've probably caught more threds in that system then you and old mate combined. It's blokes like this that go to these spots and film the location just to get a few likes and views, wait till you fish a river and a few spots that you can go at any time and usually not have anyone there then have some random utuber make a video at the spot and blast it everywhere so they can get some likes on social media.
@martytuckerfishing it does matter , some people spend years and alot of time in finding areas, and usually these areas don't get hit hard then blokes decide hey I'll post a video of it for some likes and views, in the next month ull have 200 blokes fishing it then ull be complaining the fish arnt there. Be smart and be like Peter herbst , make Ur videos without background .
@@user-dg3vs3fn6u Adam, 1) It’s no secret that you can catch threadfin there in fact there’s an entire Facebook page dedicated to fishing that system where people say what they caught, where and how. 2) I never stated what river it actually was, you’ve decided to do that in your comment however. 3) If someone can tell the exact location based off a simple generic looking background in a river then they probably know the area fairly well and fish it already. 4) You can catch threads on any bend, deep section or piece of structure in that river and I really don’t have a favourite “spot”. 5) Peter has plenty of times shown backgrounds when fishing different areas. He also has plenty of times expressed his frustration around this very topic. Quote - “If you hide the backgrounds people complain if you show the backgrounds people complain”. “Ruining” people’s “Secret spots” is never our (CZcamsrs) intention and it’s something we all in fact take in to account. Note there was an area in that vid where I did hide the background as it was slightly more specific “spot”. I doubt you’ll see any more traffic on these areas because of me and if you know the river really well I’m sure you’ll a heaps of other areas up your sleeve.
Great work Marty. Your best video yet. What a cracking Snapper! Well done. Keep em coming mate.

Gday Marty, Nice vid. Anychance you might be able to do a sounder tutorial, you seem to be able to spot them easy. Ive just bought a sounder. cheers.
Hey Steve, definitely mate. That’s on the to do list for sure. Although, I’ve only ever used Lowrance units so when it comes to settings and so on Lowrance is all I’d talk about because the other units I just don’t know much about. But image interpretation and how to use your sounders to help you catch fish yeah definitely. 👍

Hi mate, another great vid. Do you mind I ask that why you didn’t get the 70hp over the 60hp? I believe the max HP for Renegade with replate is 70hp. I have the exact same boat with 50hp Yammy and thinking to go bigger. Also great idea to extend the rear casting deck will do the same. Thank you again and tight lines.
Hey mate, I’m not too sure what the brand new model of 420 Renegade is max plated to. Mine is a 2016 or 2018 model I can’t remember which tbh haha. I spoke with the dealer who I got the engine off and they said the max plate would be 60hp if I got it re-plated. I would have got a 70hp if I could but I don’t think I could get it re-plated that high. I’m still super happy with the 60hp but it’s great. 👌🤙
@@martytuckerfishing thanks mate! That’s awesome. I have 2017 Renegade with factory fitted console and 50hp Yammy, does job but just wish to have those extra powers. I’m assuming you went for high thrust model for your 60hp? Cheers
@@shuomo1 I think the t60 is the high thrust model. I went the f60 because my boat pretty light and I don’t plan on changing the props often for different scenarios.
