SAS was Great back in the 1980s...it is not very inclusive now...
Lol!
Nice job Pauli and Crew! Making fun during this challenging time. 👍
For a senior video that's pretty good.
This video does a great job of discussing learning environments from complete rebuilds to smaller renovations. I love the discussion of pedagogy change and interviews with the teachers! Well done!!
Interesting...
I would suppose that most of them are leaning left or have parents who are Democrats. Singapore is Socialist Americans and Europeans' wet dream.
I miss this school so much and everyone!!!! so weird to see all of my old classmates all grown up :(
So if PLC system is causing ~30% of HS students to find tutoring help outside of school I think SAS needs to answer a couple questions: (1) Do you consider the shift from couple dozen students to several hundred students seeking outside help a 'red flag'? (2) how do you account for such change in behaviour (3) do you care if student behaviour changes so dramatically; (3a) if so then what your game plan? (3b) if not...WHY NOT. (4) there was some discussing about not enough time in day to contact teachers for help but this misses the point entirely because if so many students need help it means material is not being covered in sufficient depth in class; the admin has made it clear PLC and open classroom or what ever you are doing is not about self learning but isn't that exactly what is happening when students cannot reliable gain knowledge from classroom or teachers?
Quite interesting to hear educators bringing and applying the concepts of the future of work to education. They obviously see how schools have to change. The challenge is how to equip teachers with the skills to meet a rapidly evolving work environment that is currently under sourced. AI will make preparatory work even more challenging as skills beyond the fundamentals have been ratcheted to higher standards. I think teaching there could be a really rewarding and challenging experience if they are open to adopting LMS concepts in pedaogogy.
I am a huge fan of this series! Once again, thank you Singapore American school for introducing us to your teachers and letting us into your classrooms.
