Adventures and Overlanding
I have spent the majority of my life dreaming about the things I wanted to do, but I always found myself coming up with the same excuses. There isn't enough time, there isn't enough money, there isn't enough vacation days, etc.
After our family business failed I felt completely lost as to what I was supposed to do to provide for my family I decided I wasn't going to live my life like that anymore. Once I figured out how to provide for my family, and things were finally starting to stabilize, I decided my family was going to LIVE!! Not just sit around hoping and dreaming about the things we wanted to do!!
I started this channel to hopefully be living proof that it is possible to go on these adventures if you make it a priority and stop making excuses! My goal is to inspire people to get off the couch and DO those things they have always dreamt of. ADVENTURE: experience regardless if you know the outcome or not. Face it head on and live!!

Overlanding Shawnee National Forest

Shawnee National Forest lies between the Mississippi and Ohio rivers, in southern Illinois. Its terrain spans woodlands, hills and lakes. We spend time at camp cooking and exploring this area. Garden go the gods is a must see when you are in this area. The sand stone cliffs and formations rise above the trees giving beautiful views of the hills and valleys for miles.

@@cjones3710 LBL isn’t a national park. It’s Recreation area. We can hunt/shoot/camp and other things in this area. I’m well aware you can’t fly in a natl park and never have.
Can you see the extra battery on the app when it's being connected to the station?
No. It only shows the main unit.

Welcome to the long side ....(IE, the Gladiator).....What part of Tennessee do you live ? (I'm in W. Tn. (Memfrica.) the dark-west corner of our parallelogram of a state). Epic Beard man! I like your channel, and I am a subscriber, & I would LOVE to go wheel together sometime, ( I don't care if I'm on camera or not, I just want the adventure). I'm in a 2020 Launch Edition Rubi Glad , on 37' Nitto M/Ts 2 " Mopar lift, Fire-rcracker Red in, color. Anvil dash rail for all the extra goodies( phones, tablet, walkie talkies, radio mike.etc...) iKamper Mini RTT on 3/4 rack , ARB Fridge in bed (been contemplating rear seat delete my self, to bring fridge indoors and battery/power station to power it) but I have a senior Great Dane furry travel buddy named Biscuit, who needs the back seat to lie down...) Aluminum roll back bed cover,. 180 degree awning, and various other camping things... Rubi Glads are super capable off road, I was severely impressed, the fist time i took it off road in the Quachitas and the Ozarks.... (my previous off roader was a 1970 Toyota FJ-40 Land Cruiser, that little donkey would go anywhere you pointed it. no sweat...) I know you are going to love the Gladiator we enjoy ours. I ran the Yokohamas on the JK good long life good in mud but not good traction on the rocks. I swithed to Nexen Roadian MTX on the JT and the JK really like them for wheeling both are 37 12.50 17

I took out the back seat in my wrangler and put a flat platform down. I used heavy duty brackets that I got from Menards and the bolts that held the seat down; so it is very secure. I use the platform for my dog and refrigerator; it works great. My dog loves it and my refrigerated is protected and I don't have to slide it every time I want somthing out of it.
That's a great idea! I’m trying to keep my fridge out of the weather as much as possible
Putting the original jeep seat bolts into the original floor holes (and Menards metal brackets) made it bomb proof. I attached 2x6 aboards to the brackets at the height I wanted. Then attached the platform to the 2x6 and the back area. I have traveled all over the west with this set up and love it.

What's the maximum weight capacity for this tent ?
Not sure the max but I know I’ve had 600lbs in the tent and had no issues at all
@TheSepticguys. I'm currently have xl tent smittybilt it's alot space for 2 and I'm wondering if this comfortable for 2 and with some space left on side ? Thinking about getting hardshell
@@dab0yhdizzle this is a really small hard shell tent. The bed is a little smaller than a full size bed. It is built great. If you are under 6ft tall it will be good but coming from a larger tent you might not like it. For quick fast setup it’s perfect for one it’s great two it can get tight but that’s all depending on your size

You need to check out snake road in that area. They close it twice a year for snake migration across a road that is between rock bluffs on one side and a swampy area on the area.

Where in Tennessee are you from (closest town) ? I am in Memphis, I really enjoyed your video , especially because i could not make to Moore this year, life, work, etc. conspired against me this time... Epic "face fur" (beard) by the way, mine used to be that color, but now it has gone "chrome"(grey)...maybe we can go wheel together sometime in the future. I've done some trails in my 2020 Launch Edition Gladiator Rubicon, like the Quachitas N.F., Ozarks N.F., Mark Twain N.F (southern Mo). and ,Red River Gorge/Daniel Boone N.F. (deep into eastern Ky.) Keep the shiny-ish side up and happy technical trails....
We are near Jackson so not far from you. Reach out anytime and maybe we can connect and hit some trails

I really have nothing against the preparation, everything looks delicious. Except for asparagus, I hate asparagus. Where I come from, they are crazy about the stuff. I'm the only one who can't eat it even though it grows out of the ground everywhere here😅

@@anvilsadventures I live in Germany not far from the Black Forest. Not far from asparagus fields or plantations. Believe me, I ate my fill of asparagus as a child. And please, please don't misunderstand me, everyone should eat what they like, but for me it's over 😅😅😅

How thick is the mattress and did it come with a condensation mat?
Mattress is about 3 inches and it did come with a condensation Mat. The mattress is comfortable but I added a 2in foam mattress and it works great

Are you getting better mpg with this hard shell vs. your older soft shell tent? I might have missed the weight of the tent in the video. When these started appearing on Amazon and some other inexpensive tents they really seemed to drive down the prices of all RTT. I saw my USA made RTT tent that I bought in December drop over $1500 plus a lot of extras got thrown in.
It has help by a couple MPG. THE WEIGHT WASN’T IN THE VIDEO I DONT THINK. I want to say it was around 130lbs. It’s worth the money and build well but it’s small. I’m 5:11 anyone over 6ft will not be comfortable in this tent. My brother and I sept in it a few weeks ago and we are both 275-300lbs and we had some solder room. I think the bed is 49in wide. I’ll be doing a review if a OVS MAMBA SOON. Please like and subscribe. It really helps
