Bass fishing on Inks Lake State Park Pre Fishing for a Blue Line Bass Club Tournament scheduled for 8-17-2024. fished the lake about two weeks prior to the tournament. The last time I was on the lake was 5 years earlier and do not fish Inks very much. That will change this coming year as the fishing was great and the lake doesn't seem to get a lot of traffic.

if your fishing from the shore try a frog on the surface of the grass...If fishing from a yak or boat try a wacky rig, weightless senko or fluke around the edge of the grass...... let it slow fall and watch your line for any movement....

I appreciate this video. I have fished canyon lake a few times and trying to dial in my electronics deep, but this video enlightened me a lot that I may be fishing too deep. Thanks for the video. Light bulb may have went off.
Great to hear! I also fish deeper than most. I like offshore structure fishing as the fish are less pressured (usually).
My parents always used to tell me I was conceived on that lake lol. Aside from that weird bit of info ^ lol, it was always a cool place for me. It has/had a nude beach, used to have really good live music there 15+ years ago, cold waters, clear waters, fun fishing, etc. The people who live in the area are some pretty wild river people HAHA! One time I caught a HUGE flathead with my hands there at that boat ramp in that park, it just swam right by me and I grabbed it. Canyon Lake is (or at least was) such a great place.
I hear its not safe to fish alone i would be willing to assit you i have a drone as well with a part 107. I live down the road from there. I do mostly wedding videography but been wanting to do more fishing videos if you ever want to link up. I've been killing it on the fly rod out there lately.

I am lucky I didn't break or damage the knee.....i didn't include my clip where earlier there was about a 10-15 foot gator sitting on the bottom I could see with my FFS...I was in full panic mode..😱

the highest priced alloy money can buy...and a little bit of pride is all you win....both are not worth much but its really about all the endorsements you get for placing.....I'm at home now waiting for "Wheaties" to call....nothing yet but i'm hopeful.

I fished Canyon for the first time Saturday. (Just relocated from WI). Do you catch smallmouth here often? I caught 4 which I was shocked. Also caught a 18 inch Guad. Is the grass new with lower water?

@shanelogan1579 were you my platoon SSG. We went to Ft Hood on our two week drill in 1997. I was your driver. You loved fishing and your wife would help sort your lures and label them in ziplock bags to make it easier. You're were also a manager of an apartment complex in Austin.
