The lovebirds are romancing while Figaro congratulates himself.
One of the best and funniest moment in opera. The dynamic trio of Juan Diego Flórez, Joyce DiDonato, and Peter Mattei playing the lovestruck Almaviva, the irrepressible Rosina, and the ingenious titular Barber of Seville, Figaro. While the lovebirds sing their joy, Figaro becomes increasingly impatient to get out of there--and rightfully so, as their escape is soon thwarted, leading us to the greatest trio ever.
This opera is such a romp and this production and cast are unmatched. From the Met 2007 production. Thank you, Bartlett Sher.

sad there's not a video recording of this, but happy we can at least hear this wonderful diva's voice singing this beautiful, beautiful aria. And how cool is it Sierra gets to be both a fabulous Countess and a fabulous Susanna? (Met 2018) Did you know she was only 30 when she sang this?

Sierra is possibly the only one who comes remotely close to touching Renée Fleming's Countess Rosina in my book. Here is the lovely diva singing one of the most famous opera arias of all time and absolutely killing it. (From the San Francisco Opera 2015 production.) (Note: the "donation" button in the corner at the end was in the original. it's not mine. I am not making any money off of this.)

This is one of my favorite choreographies of any ballet ever. It's so gay and genderfluid! Notice how many times ladies are paired up with ladies and guys with guys? And even if it's a male/female duo, there's not a distinct leader; they take turns being leader and led. No gender expectations here! Not to mention it's just some really fun, energetic, unique choreography! I also love the fun out...

Say what you want about Renee’s scooping and mannerisms in her later career, but this 1999 performance in my opinion is a masterclass in perfect technique and ravishing beauty of sound. It’s amazing!

Agreed, and I love how she has responded to the criticism of the mannerisms by coming back to simple, expressive singing in the sunset of her career. She’s back to the basics of what has made her the greatest soprano of her generation. ❤

È sempre sorprendente scoprire come il genio di Mozart ha tratto un gioiello simile da un testo certamente grazioso ma di per sé non eccezionale... la freschezza delle interpreti fa il resto. Impagabile!

Nadine Sierra kills this! This is one of Mozart's most spectacular showpiece arias. I can't accurately judge, since this is just this one aria, but, i would say that the Sierra ranks with Diana Damrau, Renee Fleming, and Dorothea Roschmann as the best countesses i've seen.

Beautiful, but no one has ever matched the lyric beauty of Arleen Auger.
I’d love to hear her tackle Gluck. Che faro senza Euridice. My favourite. But this countess brought to life by Renee Fleming is the absolute pinnacle of perfection.
I'm sure she could sing it beautifully, but Orfeo is normally a contralto, mezzo or counter-tenor role.
