No guitar on this 78, unlike his Cameo electric 78, "Riding on the Elevated Railroad". Plenty of yodel at the end.

I have a question for you and you may or may not be able to help me learn more about what I am looking for. So I have an old lullaby I memorized from my childhood that my Grandma used to sing to me. Its very likely a plantation era lullaby judging by the lyrics. What im trying to find is when the time frame of this might be from and maybe an author. Also it would be nice to see if there is anymore to it or if I have all the words right. So without further ado here is that lullaby. Skeeters are a buzzin round his little woolly head, while mammy's singing her lullaby hark I hear a knockin at the door and there peers (appears) to be a somethin strange a creepin cross the floor so you better come a runnin quick and jump in mammy's lap and go to sleep my pickaninny babe go to sleep my pickaninny baby, mammy's got her arms around you dream, dream close your eyes and dream and go to sleep my pickaninny babe. This is all I know of it and of course the spelling is how the song i heard is sung. If you have any information on or direction to point me in on where I might learn more about this. I have tried to look online with no luck. I assume this was passed down from my great grandmother to my grandmother and she was a little girl during the great depression in the south, so It may not have an actual recording or even be written anywhere but I hope so.

Terrible sound from an era long gone and good riddance ! This is what was passed off as entertainment in the days when men wore brown shoes and wore hats and had no idea just how good popular music can be and is . Thanks for putting it up for people to hear just how music was perceived by the English masses back in the day .
