How do you record into logic? I’ve been using the drums mono output but is there a way to record stereo into logic?

I've played alot of gig with drummers. Some guys have their "system" worked out and some don't. I've played with some drummers who use aluminum stands because they are lighter and easier to move around. Some use the bags to put the drums in (like in this video). Some guys carry each piece individually. The drummers who are organized and put some thought into it never complain about loading in and out and those guys hardly ever want anyone to help them. The ones who don't have a system or a thought out plan, complain much more and usually have or want someone to help them. It's just like anything else in life.... try it different ways, see what works and what doesn't ... then adjust and plan accordingly and always revise and improve your method to make your load in and out more efficient so that your not worn out before or after you play your gig.

Also: If you have thumb pain like in the beginning of the video, try sticks that have a coating on them like vic firth's double glaze sticks. They arent as slippery as regular sticks so you dont have to grip them as hard.

I agree with you. Casual gigging, I really like Protection Racket drum bags. Touring with all your drums mixed in with other gear in a van, truck, lorry with other people handling your gear? Hard cases for sure!

I just replace my p-83 the original one on my Ludwig accent snare drum I had some issues getting stuck on the bottom and when it arrived I put some 3 in one oil and it worked perfectly and still looks new

I use DW 3000 Hardware. It’s a medium weight. But I also have a 9000 double tom stand as well!!!

Do you have recommendations for buying rubber padding yourself to add to a hard case? Apparently some cases don't come with padding or some of the cheaper ones have low quality material. Just wondering if you know of any go-to material to buy yourself and line the inside of a hard case.

Tip for the snare if you put a napkin or a sock over the snare wires it will mask the noise dramatically and still sound like a snare

poplar shells in a good tuning with good touch will work.nice.

Regarding the span of the wires, I use the notches in the metal core of the handle to narrow them. My personal favorite is the first notch to narrow the span about an itch. This works best for my style and I have a light touch with Remo Renaissance heads with no coating - the texture is built into the surface and doesn't wear out. My wires never snag in the gap between the hoop and head.

I need new earplugs. I really do. I used to have a pair of Vic Firth earplugs. They make the best sticks, and their earplugs aren’t bad either!! Unfortunately, I think I might have lost them.

I have both. The Jazz are great for large venues, the Heritage great for smaller ones. Love them both!

thanks for this video and your insights my friend. i just received a Tama Club Jam Pancake kit , along with a set of Remo Silentstrokes (super quiet) and got some Wuhan low volume cymbals (they work somewhat, but I find them still a bit too loud, while feel remains the same). In this case, I may return them and grab this exact set after trying it out in store, and I find the feel to be nearly exact to the Wuhans, even the same quip/gripe about the crash feeling... weird... but the ride and hats being fine! I tried to go cheap and get the Wuhans but they are still oddly too loud, especially the ride cymbal. Hoping with these new cymbals I'll have my practice kit complete and will be able to get daily practice in at my house, instead of breaking down my giant PDP concept maple (10x13 racktom, 18x16 floor, 14x26 bass drum) to take to a rehearsal space once a week lol

I always used hickory in the past until I tried maple! I'm now using Vater 5B sugar maple and will not look back. I agree tho, when they break, they usually break completely in half but the tip usually stays intact!
