The Dark History of Gundam
Behold, one of my favorite scenes from Turn A Gundam. Humanity never learned from their mistakes, so as a result we have The Dark History.

Giant Robo and Xenogears Music Similarity

Was listening to the Giant Robo soundtrack and noticed that one of the songs sounded familiar. It could be a cool reference from Yasunori Mitsuda (Which I like to believe because Seibzehn exists), or it could just be a coincidence. Songs: Masamichi Amano - A Great Fissure: A Tumult! The Saddest Scene From Space Battleship Yamato
zhlédnutí 29KPřed 2 lety
One of the saddest scenes from the versions of Space Battleship Yamato which I've seen so far. In this scene from the sequel movie to the original show Farewell Yamato, Kodai decides to kamikaze the Yamato into Zwordar's ship in order to defeat him. But as he's about to ram into it he sees visions of his friends, both those who died and those who he ordered to evacuate the ship earlier. Source:...
An Abrupt Ending to Ideon
zhlédnutí 25KPřed 2 lety
While originally planned to have about 43 episodes, Space Runaway Ideon was cancelled at episode 39 due to low ratings. As a result the ending of the TV series was... not as great as it could've been. This was eventually fixed later with the release of the second Ideon movie Be Invoked a year after the original broadcast of the show had ended. Source: Space Runaway Ideon (episode 39)
The First Use of The Ideon Gun
zhlédnutí 13KPřed 2 lety
In episode 18 the pilots of the Ideon noticed a button on Cosmo's dashboard was glowing, pressing it caused a hatch to open in the front of the Ideon revealing a mini-black hole used to suck in the Buff Clan's sunlight missiles. Later in episode 23 (the second half of the clip) they use the Ideon Gun to channel the destructive power of the mini-black hole and offensively attack the Buff Clan. A...

First time making an AMV after finally getting around to watching this Minky Momo OVA which I've had on my "plan to watch" list for the longest time. It was pretty good. Song: The Dear Hunter - The Squeaky Wheel Anime: Minky Momo in Yume ni Kakeru Hashi

Where is she going?
This whole still makes me cry after all these years. It was beautifully done the music was spot on. This and the scene when the Yamoto destroyed the Water Planet and water in space the she raises up out of the water trying to to stay afloat and you hear she lets out a Roar!!!! And she sinks back into the water
gunbuster and danguard ace: this is too much for us to fight
Turn X is lit a fuck.
OMG 😭 i can see why this hit my husband hard he’s a veteran and half his band of brothers are in heavne now. We went back to South Africa and he walked through his old barracks and he burst into tears. The fate of soldiers the fate of veterans
That’s stronger than a colony laser btw.
Physically, it doesn't make sense. Because of gravity, the two half of planet will not be torn apart. They will merge again instead, because of gravity.
Won't destruction of the core f#ckd up the planet?
If you want accurate physics and science don't watch mecha shows 😂
I think the best way to look at this is the Breath of the Wild method: regardless of which timeline they are, ALL of them end with Turn A.
Fun fact, Breath of the Wild being a convergent point for the Zelda timelines was inspired by Turn A.

@@MrSoftypolimer I remember it being in an old interview I read a while back, it was the only thing that really stuck out to me about the interview, so unfortunately I don't remember much else about it to give you a source.
@@MrSoftypolimer Unfortunately I cant find anything about that, but it would be cool if it were true.
Yeah it’s pretty dumb
That was the point where everyone should have taken a step back and asked themselves, “Is it really worth it?”
To buff clan, it is.
Too late for that.
So the ideon spontaneously combusts?
czcams.com/video/KMmGvWGXWy4/video.html

And Ideon did this. Not Cosmo or anyone piloting it. *Ideon.*
We all know what It's power is capable of.
Ok... So Destroy mode Asura vs Ideon.
idk who Asura is but even if Asura successfully kills Ideon, the universe will be completely erased.
I wonder how this will effect the climate.
Even if you really couldn't fit every series, hell, even just the ones prior to 1999, into one continuity that ends with Turn A (electing to ignore Tomino for a bit here that G-Reco takes place after) thematically, it makes sense for Turn A to be the ultimate end of every series, even the ones made after 1999. So in light of that, if you had ONE scene from every animated series, ideally involving the final protag Gundam, to represent it in the Dark History, what would you pick?
for every series that goes totally different such as from UC to Wing to G gundam to X gundam, it is assumed that it was done by Turn-A who judge/decide to destroy the whole world history and restart it by using the butterfly nanomachine. there was special movie of Amuro talking about Turn-A and saw the action of resetting of the universe when he became one with time itself, and saw the reset event with lalah
This is what the GMs dream they were
FR
Either purposefully or by stumbling into it, I think this contextualizes every that happens in every gundam in relation to human nature. It is not about the argument itself, because history will be written by the winners, but to understand the suffering that comes from taking part in war and overcoming the urge to hurt those who are differ from you, either by color or creed. We make Gundams to stop the war but the Gundam is it self a curse, a drastic measure that humanity repeats over and over again as part of an arms race that only escalates until it brings us to the brink. It is not cure but a inevitable phase of the disease. That's why I think that 00 got it so right, that you can't truly stop the bloodshed for all eternity, But you can work towards understanding and advancing the cause of mankind and we can try to move forward. When you are faced with the prospect of violence, remember this and aspire to be a better human.
Star Blazers was seen every weekday afternoon on WSBK-TV 38 in 1979-80, and later, on WXNE-TV 25 from 1980-85!

Final Yamato in my opinion is sadder for the final shot with captain okita in it
Yamato spirit will always passed down to next generation either with the Yamato itself or with it's clones in different show czcams.com/video/09YS9MfEo8w/video.htmlsi=T18h6Xm3L44LUfaH
Saw this version (Arrivederci Yamato) at my local theater here in Chiba City. It was great to see it with an appreciative audience.
The epitome of overkill!
What is the name of this piece? Ive heard it performed in the sympnic versions, and I'm looking for it on the soundtracks. Thanks!
Great Love
What's the name of the OST used in the start? I tried searching through the Ideon OST but couldn't find it

My theory is that something happened to these timelines. Before that, the Universal Century, Future Century, After Colony and After War timelines were definitely separate timelines, but something happened in the far future of these timelines. An extra-dimensional phenomenon caused these timelines to forcefully merge into one, or something akin to Gundam's version of The Crisis of Infinite Earths.
U know what that sounds reasonable, I take it
Well a very powerful, fully equipped psycho-frame mobile suit happens. You now a Unicorn type ms can travel through time, and we don't know where Phoenix is.
My interpretation is that Turn A is an extradimensional gundam that exists in every possible universe. And every action that turn A does does all of its alternate versions. In this way I would explain each Gundam series as its own separate universe, but at one point in the U.C. Turn A is created, which causes it to be created in all universes and the pilot activates the massive destruction mode ONCE! This occurs in all universes at the same time. Doing that all the series from that point is "combined" since all will have the same development. Or directly the turn A destroys all the universes and unifies them in a single point. Sincerely I see difficult to combine each Gundam universe in the same continuity. That's why I see better that they are not related but they arrive to the same point. Which hurts me for certain Gundam series like Wing, X and G that have optimistic endings to break the war cycle.
I just saw this today at the "Farewell to Yamato" Remaster at Midland Square in Nagoya. I never had tears roll down to a movie in my life at the theatre, but tears rolled down by themselves throughout his speech to the remaining crew and unto this scene, the movie was in Japanese but even though mine is not good enough, I understood every word. Every emotion.. Yamato is on her eternal journey into the stars...
Ideon says “F yo planet, B****es!
They don't call it the Giant God for nothing.
The scariest part about this is that the Ideon did this on its own. It....made a choice.
The Ideon can be a dangerous mecha.
Japanese Santa Claus isn't playing around.

The Ideon may be powerful, but I didn't realized their tech can be extremely dangerous. I wonder if the series will get a reboot.
It should.
I fear that reboot may undermine the original message.@@justagundam

Ideon, the Eldritch Lovecraftian Super Robot
This was Ideon's warning to everyone. Pretty much Ideon was telling everyone that it was running out of patience.
To bad no one got the memo in the end.
@@MasterSwo-MK It's implied that the universe was reborn countless times, and that this is always how it ends.
