Hey, soccer fans! Does it feel like we've seen this before? It's because we have! The Chicago Fire do the same thing every week, and every week the wonder why they can't win a game. Once again, the Men in Red come out flat, concede early, and then are forced to try to break down a defensive-minded opponent. Don't let the possession numbers fool you, the Fire were not in control of this game at any time. Stay tuned as our host breaks down the lineups, stats, and play of the team.
It's not all bad, though! In the second half, Nick shares the positive experiences of attending the match with his boys. He ends the show recapping the USMNT's loss to Canada over the weekend (Ok maybe it was all bad.)

Nick, just daydreaming here, but if the MLS could get out of the Apple TV contract and go with more traditional networks, do you think it would benefit the league or is staying with Apple the best in your opinion? Whenever I see MLS games on live tv channels I make sure to thrown it on even for a few minutes to increase the viewership numbers, can't say the same for Apple TV exclusive games.

My energy recording this recap was greater than both teams combined.
My problem with berhalter is that his teams are low scoring. My opinion is to try to get Gio Savarese, he did a really good job with the Portland Timbers, good player development, won the mls is back cup, an exciting play style, and everyone has nice things to say about him
@FirewatchFC I almost forgot about Savarese! He'd be a great hire for Chicago. One of his best qualities was the ability to switch formations/tactics and get back to basics when his team was struggling. He could right the ship mid-season, whereas us Fire fans are stuck waiting for coaching changes or front office moves. I haven't seen Savarese's name anywhere, even in speculation, so I wonder if he's at all interested in cisching again.

I was pretty happy with this game. This version of Teran can go to Europe, Acosta giving tough love gets a good response from the team, Gutman finally looks like what we hoped at the start of the season, Guti looked aggressive, and Frank picked a good line up and formation considering he had to scramble without mueller and Shaqiri

One thing that the announcers on tv kept hammering and hammering is that the fire didn’t score in X amount of minutes (until they did) Chicago was really going at it for the first 30 minutes and really forcing us to play the way they wanted to play. One thing I noticed was the amount of first half turnovers they where able to force and dispossess the likes of Morris and Nagbe so easily who are usually two of the most calm on the ball under pressure then the Rossi goal happend and it was all Columbus from there
The Fire did put some good pressure on early, but that Rossi goal just killed their spirits.

Great takes as always! Big fat red box for Klopas on this one. I also hope we see Mueller starting. I’m still a believer in Guti, but I understand the frustration, he’s getting rid of the ball too quickly and not going forward enough. Also how do you feel about Cuypers getting subbed in the last 15 in almost every match? Personally I think he needs to be there the full 90, and not rely on young Koutias yet.
Thank you! Guti hasn't lost his talent, just needs to regain his confidence (and probably better coaching). As for Cuypers, that's a great question. If there's no service, it doesn't matter who is in. And Koutsias needs minutes to develop. But Cuypers is here to score goals and win games and should get 90min to do so. I'd be interested to see what Koutsias and Cuypers on the pitch together looks like.
@@glasshousesoccer i loved seeing all of our strikers out on the pitch against cf Montreal, I think that should be our end game strategy. Its a great way to give koutias minutes without sacrificing our biggest goal scoring threat. I don’t think this team is built for locking it down in the last 15, and our track record proves it

Might be burned at the steak for this but I was never a fan of the tournaments US Open Cup has really never been my favorite half empty MLS stadiums in the early rounds and it’s the oldest tournament in the country which has been one by a mls team every year since 07 I belive when Rochester won it it’s always been a dying tournament people just don’t want to accept it now that MLS is “controlling” American soccer but I’ll still watch until the crew get knocked out as I always with do with every tournament
You're basically saying what Garber is saying (so yeah, watch out for pitchforks and torches) - it's not a good tournament, so why would MLS want to keep participating? MLS is keeping it afloat, so you cater to us or die anyway. And I'll keep watching 'cuz I love the sport.
