    Do you leave that tool on the clutch when riding ? Or do you take it off when you’re done using it?

    Great info! We tumbled and inspected all our cast parts,that should have been rejected and reworked at the factory,now I have to pull my secondary’s apart to check lol

    Terry, thanks for the product, what a difference on the low end and all thru the middle, Just what I was looking for. You set up the Weights just right for what I was looking to do. Wanted all my power in the lower end. I imagine I will still get over 100mph. I modified the airbox and added a 4th wheel kit, Rolls pretty good now.

    its funny that its a 1/4 turn before it breaks and then is hand tight afterwards on that 14mm bolt

    No need to remove the main primary bolt to do this.

      If you don't, you have a good chance of scoring the cover bushing. The lock washer has gouged some bushings and has caused engagement issues.

    I wonder what foundry makes these? I worked for 3 months in a foundry when I was a young man. One contract they had was with Polaris making clutch castings. Once cured they went on carts that got rolled to a table full of women who took and hand filed any flash edges off. Wonder why Yamaha lets this go on?

      Carp Spudpicker - I could have. But it's good to always check manufacturers specifications. It's listed there.

  • @terryburmeister6242
    @terryburmeister6242 Před 8 lety

    yes, the higher percentage you go #2, #3 for this kit, takes away top end and gives more on bottom end. The percentage is based on the numbers in the helix (0,3,6,9) and in the secondary (1,2,3). 3-3 is called 60%, 6-1 is 70%, 6-2 is 80%, 6-3 is 90%...the higher the percentage, the more bottom end you have.

  • @chaleurphantom1
    @chaleurphantom1 Před 8 lety

    Number 1, 2 and 3 settings on the secondary clutch. You say number 2 gives better performance off trail. Does that mean it has more low end torque at a sacrifice to top end speed? What would the number one setting do for you?

    • @terryburmeister6242
      @terryburmeister6242 Před 9 lety

      I switched out the weights to a heavier Yamaha weight with a stronger spring because the extra hpr from free flowing was hitting the rev limiter

  • @terryburmeister6242
    @terryburmeister6242 Před 10 lety

    The XTX to me is the perfect sled for trail and off trail. The clutching I'm using kicks but and with a little more testing will be 105 mph or better with stock gearing. Soft, loose snow on this run was just under 100 miles per hour. You could tell were the track was slipping on top end. Thank you 4 the positive comment :-)

    Is there any difference in top speed when set up properly between the viper rtx ltx and xtx I'm really leaning towards the xtx for deep off trail riding but still ride a Lotta trail. Love all your info on ty. Thanks
