Wow Dan! This was an ear full of awesomeness. Nice tuning, a steady breathing cadence, as well as a nice feel to the tune itself. Keep up the great progress. Maybe a little more contrast in the dot-cut, you've definitely got the notes now. The place that you started into the most trouble was the steps of the taorluath, and this made the Taor. variation give you a few squeaks, as the motion of the embellishment steps moved into your forearms. A lot of slow reps that focus on D and E to Low A clarity can help, and, of course, sacrificing a little tempo in those variations may be required to get it there. You are doing quite well in all other aspects so, focusing on those steps will eventually bring you forward with this one.

Good playing Dan! I'm working on this tune myself. I find the melody to be one of the easier to remember, but the number of variations with their attendant doublings are definitely a challenge for maintaining tuning throughout. Good stuff.

Decent effort here Dan. The bottom hand technique making things difficult for you. The D gracenotes were definitely taking you away from your flow. Also, watch bar 7 in the 2nd part.... there was a bit of acceleration here. The drones were well set but left flat to the chanter making it sound pretty sharp, especially on D, E and high G. Hi Dan Nice to hear you playing here in this window, it's been a while. Overall this performance has many of the qualities we are looking for at the Dojo in reel playing. You manage to keep a nice overall tempo sticking with the click although I do mention below that at times you run the rick of over pointing the 1/4 notes so keep listening out for this. Lots of the finger technique coming across clearly including the D throws, although watch this movement when going from line 1 to line 2 in the 1st part as there was a slight out-of-sync thing happening there. The tachum movements which I know you've been working hard on I felt were improving. If I note correctly you were playing them with E grace notes at times before and these all seem to be played back with the D. Awesome work on that and although they were causing some MBA's you're starting to hear the short/long rhythm that they require. The pipes sound nice, drones well tuned together and also with the chanter. It's a hard time of the year for pipes, mine seem drier and thinner just now with the cold weather but so you're doing well there. Hi Dan, thanks for submitting, not heard you play for a while. Pipes sounding nice! This was going well... You made a good job of the last phrase in the 3rd part despite the technical difficulty but you were early off the Low G, jumping up to the short B to D. A pretty small drift past the metronome. Then the 4th part wasnt quite right, you were catching the Ds and Cs on the click and High As and High Gs on the off beat. You adjusted well and finished strong and back on the beat but it took a while to get there. All the best for the next one! Hoping for a nice easy jig!
