DIY Mudroom Coat Rack and Storage
zhlédnutí 10KPřed 6 lety
We built a custom coat rack and storage solution for our narrow mudroom. This high traffic area needed a place for all of our coats and jackets, but we didn't have a lot of space to work with. We got creative and found a great solution that helped to organize the mess.

Pony Wall Transformation
zhlédnutí 688Před 6 lety
We transformed a pony wall into a grand entrance for our formal dining room complete with custom columns. The old pony wall used to really limit the space and forced us to use a small table. The new open concept gave us so much more space to work with and plenty of room for hosting large gatherings.
DIY Outdoor Dining Table

We wanted an outdoor table that could hold the whole family and since we couldn't find one that we liked (or afford...) we built our own.

Here are some bloopers from our first stab at recording a project. This is for our outdoor patio dining table.
Wine linked to cancer. Beware.
I really enjoyed it thanks for sharing the video
Trying this this week!
How will I kill vampires if I use all my wooden stakes?
I was surprised this was even on here, but I sure am glad. Where did you get plastic corrugated cardboard? Thanks!
Michael’s. It’s the stuff they use for political yard signs Spray looks like Loctite® Spray Adhesive High Performance 200
Thank you lovely couple; this was very helpful!:)
What type of wood did you use? And what finish product? Thanks
The straightness of this table defy laws of physic and common building practices. I hope you don't have a drunk 220 lb friend that sits of fall onto it, it will either rack on the side or bend 6" or more in the middle. How come the 2x4 long rail skirt lumber are not vertical ? Even then, that would be pushing the limit of the span of such board. I don't say this to be rude but the goal is to inspire people to build stuff, which that video does, but the design needs to be refined.
Thanks for your feedback. So far so good. Luckily our 220lb friend hasn't tried sitting in the middle yet. :)
I’m going to try and make the top before July 3rd. I’m going to add metal legs from Amazon instead. I have a big blended family and we need a table just like this. I’ve never build anything🙏🏾
How did your table turn out?
I had someone to make it and he did a terrible job. As soon as it got wet, the wood separated. And I paid him $550. Should've just did it myself.@@bethm8673
So 5 years later, did the table hold up? I was concerned about a long heavy table not having cross support for the legs.
It’s still holding up! We could use a sanding and refinish but the structure is fine. I wish we would have covered it during the winter months too.
@@bethm8673 Thank you. This is the design I want for my 9ft long table. I was concerned that it would need cross bracing or additional leg support. Great to hear!
Jinkies! No more disappearing graves! Thanks you guys! Now I can go find out who the rubber mask villain is this episode! P.S. - what glue did you use? I keep melting my styrofoam!
Looks like Loctite® Spray Adhesive High Performance 200 i
Hi! What adhesive spray did you use? I always have a hard time with trying to glue anything to the styrofoam.

Finally!! I've been looking for a solution and everything seems so convoluted. Takes some time, but hopefully will last for years to come. Thanks!
Good luck and Happy Halloween! 👻 🎃
I used stakes then screwed the tombstones into the stakes after they were hammered into the ground
This was an inexpensive most effective way to secure my tombstones. Thank you so much! Took me a couple of tries to get it. My husband and I just put them out 🤞🏽 we shall see if it withstands the wind. Again thank you!
Awesome! Good luck. We have to put ours out this week. Happy Halloween!

We have some in the works!! Just need to edit them. 😁
Oh my gosh, thank you guys so much for this!!! I really needed this guidance
Awesome video! Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm gonna have the creepiest yard on the block lol.
Hi Luis are you using the 1ft or 1 1/2 ft stakes… thank you
Excellent video definitely needed to see this.
Can you share the Amazon link? How’s it held up Thank you
what if your umbrella doesn't have a screw cap at the top? is there still a way to remove it? I tried but it doesn't seem to come off.
Woodglut has a lot of designs to choose from.
The totes is a nice idea, very customizable
But love the table size, that’s how to have a party. Might be cool to know where you got your chairs
We got them at Costco and it was a seasonal product. Haven't seen them since! :(
You know the growth rings pointing down isn’t for rain to shed off, it’s for when the wood seasons you don’t encourage anymore cupping of the wood.
I got inspired and started making my own BBQ Tables. There will be a video: czcams.com/video/eyIllBL4ykY/video.html A fantastically beautiful practical product.
I was looking for a way to temporarily repair an umbrella canopy and discovered your video. You just saved me a good bit of money and I like the bones of my umbrella anyway. Thanks!
Hi. Would you please share the name of the jigs you used and where to purchase? Thank you
great idea, you should make these and sell them, you are great parents and decorators!!
Thanks Ron! Maybe we will! :)
12 days and going strong ... they haven't blown or moved a single bit! Highly highly recommend doing this method!!! We had very high winds yesterday, not a SINGLE problem! Thank you again!!!
That’s awesome to hear Mike. We put ours out this weekend and then the winds came. They are holding on strong!
Tq
This is a fantastic idea!!! Thank you so much for posting!
Happy Halloween! 🎃
Thank you so much!
Any photos of what it looks like now?
Hi Eddy, I don’t know of a way to upload pictures in the comments on CZcams. We could use a new coat of stain to freshen it up but it’s held up pretty well. We keep a cover on it during the winter months.
Thanks for posting!! Any updates on how these held up over time?
We get some pretty crazy winds in October in Colorado. They have held up great over the years. We’re still using the same tombstones. Now we just need to figure out a solution for our snowman during Christmas! He always gets blown over and breaks in half!
Woot woot!!! GO BRONCOS!!!!
Go Broncos! Happy Halloween. 🎃
Looking for square cantilever canopy 9'×9' replacement. Where to buy one.
We searched Amazon and found ours there.
Thank you for this advice, and your great How-To instructions ... what a great idea! Adding this to my store bought tombstones so mine too won't blow down any more either! I used wooden dowel rods on both sides and fishing line for years but it was such a pain. Thank you - Happy Halloween 🎃 2021!
Happy Halloween!
A great video thank you
Thanks.
awesome job. How long are the legs the (4x4's) I'm trying to do the exact same setup and same chairs but want to make sure they fit under the table similar to yours. also what is the name of the chairs or where did you get them? thanks!
Thanks Alejandro! Let us know how it turns out for you. We really enjoy ours. The chairs were a good deal too! They are from Costco. I found this link for them costcocouple.com/resin-wicker-chairs/ overall the table is 10feet long x 38.75inches wide x 29.5inches tall. The top planks are 10ft long x 5.5in wide x 1.5in thick. The leg posts are 3.5in x 3.5in x 28in tall.
Good build! Thanks for posting!!
You guys inspired me to make one
Awesome! Let us know how it goes!
Thanks for posting your video it was helpful. Could you please email me where to purchase the new cover?
Hi Luz. We found it on Amazon.
lovely! Trying to see if we can fit something like this in our laundry room since we have a split ranch and no real coat closet. What are the dimensions of your space?
great job guys!
I have question. As time goes by middle part of your table didn’t bent? Still straight?
Hi there! Yes, the table is still pretty straight all the way longwise. Gluing and using screws for the long skirt board really makes it strong @0:59. I have mentioned to others that if you are concerned with the wood sagging over time then you could arch the wood about 0.5in at each end to help make a bump on the middle, but you wouldn't want too much of an arch.
Someone tell me why this was on prymrrs music playlist lmaoo
Ha. That is random. No idea how that happened. Someone must have added it by mistake?
Thanks for the tutorial. I followed it and my tombstones have not gone anywhere despite some super strong winds we’ve had. It works!
