Registrace 11. 12. 2007
Through research, technology, and education, the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) promotes the professional practice of arboriculture and fosters a greater worldwide awareness of the benefits of trees. This is our passion and serves as our mission statement.
ISA exists so that professionals, allied professionals, public officials, and consumers worldwide recognize the economic, environmental, and societal benefits and values of trees and their care at a cost that demonstrates the wise stewardship of resources. We are registered in the State of Illinois as a 501c (5) nonprofit organization.

Rules of Effective Community Engagement in Urban Forestry - Dr. Asia Dowtin
Urban forests are comprised of the woody vegetation found in the areas where we live, work, and play; that is, in the areas in which there are high concentrations of developed landscapes and human populations. While effective care and management of urban trees rely heavily on sound knowledge of the ecological and physiological factors that impact tree survival, they also rely heavily on a sound understanding of the communities in which these trees will be established and on meaningful engagement with the people who make up these communities. In this presentation, Dr. Asia Dowtin reviews the key tenets of effective community engagement in urban forestry, including an overview of the broader social contexts within which community engagement strategies should be developed. This presentation will provide an overview of the different engagement techniques that should be applied for varying intended outcomes (e.g., data collection, educational outreach programming, cocreation of management strategies), in addition to best practices to apply when attempting to stimulate and sustain collaboration with diverse stakeholder groups.

In this presentation, James Komen discusses how to correct for these situations by changing the way transactions are recorded. Examples are fram...

I wanna get a certified 😢
Hi from india ... Appreciate it 👍🏻
Nice video.
The ISA needs to make it a priority to capture as much of Kim Coder's knowledge and insights on trees as possible and put it up on CZcams. These lectures are pure gold and allow for much deeper and more efficient management of urban trees.
thank you, im a crop science student and planning to entering wood logging business and these helps me a lot, thabk you so much
Yeah go ahead, we need more women like you so we men can get some rest well deserved, 👏
Protect those root zones from injuries. 🤘😎✌️
Very nice overview. Would it be possible to put there a list of cited literature? It would be very helpful!
🙌
Very helpful, thank you!
Thanks for introducing us to these hardworking, skilled folks. There's nothing more gratifying to me as a public garden horticulturist than driving through my work garden on a cart, in my work clothes, with my tools and gear, and pass a child who sees me doing my work and understands that professional horticulture/arboriculture is absolutely an option for women as much as for men.
Thank you for this doing a focal series on Women in Arboriculture again. This is much needed and appreciated. This video does however bring up some frustrations for me. It's difficult to see women having to justify their worth or the worth of other groups. That should not be our role. Showcase their work, their skill, their passion, and by ISA devoting equal time to women and others (non-white, cis-gendered males) - that inherently and without words, shows worth and value in the arboriculture community.
