Welcome to the CZcams home of our department! We were established in 1898 ... and have grown to 21 stations that house twenty-four engines, five ladders, one ladder tender and three ARFF units at two City of Mesa airports. All engines and ladders are constantly staffed with a captain, engineer and two firefighters; of which two are paramedics (ALS) and two are EMT's (BLS). Chief Mary Cameli has been with us for over 34 years. Take a look around and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
Fourth of July Fireworks PSA-dangers
Get ready to celebrate the 4th of July safely!
If not handled properly, fireworks can cause significant damage to both property and individuals. Property damage may include fires, broken windows, and structural damage from debris. Physically, fireworks can cause severe burns, eye injuries, and hearing damage if they malfunction or are mishandled. Following safety guidelines and laws when using fireworks is crucial to minimize the risk of harm to property and individuals.
The Mesa Police Department has increased enforcement this year. To report illegal fireworks usage in your neighborhood, email Fireworks@MesaAz.Gov.

What would you call this method? ... "Noninvasive interface ventilation"? Has MF&MD done away with invasive intubation completely? Thank you.
No, we actually still do invasive intubation. This just gives our firefighter/paramedics an additional treatment option that at times may be more appropriate for the patient. Thanks for the question.
