Anywhere in Colombia is fine.
Don't go to. Downtoun medellín bars. Drugs. Áreas prostitución gay. City. People. Are. Hangry. Money. Only. Don't. Said. You are. Americano. O. Gringo.
las perreiranas
A few other nice cities in Colombia that people don’t about very much include Barranquilla, Ibagué, and Manizales.
Yeah, I heard that Manizales is a hidden gem that people don't know much about. I never heard of Ibague.
Pereira one of the few cities never visitd in Colombia, thanks for nice video. most of beautiful Colombians girls are from Pereira and Armenia. but i think most of them moved to big cities
Thank you for exploring the country and your suggestions, I’m sick and tired of the women in the U.S. and I prefer a more feminine woman like a colombian lady
450 i medellin i dont think so
Thanks for the info. May want to add best way to get there (bus/fly) and places to stay.
2K Medellin to 7.5K Chicago comparison is BS. I would not believe this guy's cost comparisons. Obviously Medellin is less expensive than the US and Pereira is less expensive than Medellin. But it could be a boring life in Pereira. It really depends on what a person likes to do. Just because a place is safe, beautiful and inexpensive doesn't mean that it will have that vibe or be fun for everyone. It could be boring AF after a few months.
I grew up in the sticks. Wandering around in an open field is a good time. So, Pereira may be right for me.
Gangs use pretty girls to find foreigners to drug and rob.
Best of luck on your life's journey. Much courage for getting out of the mundane, easy path.
Thanks for the concept of the video and the education. Well done , look forward to checking out your other stuff.
I am staying out of Columbia
Great feedback between both cities 👍🏻
Pereira is terrible, its filthy, crime ridden and the people are definitely not friendly. Please do not go there, stick to Medellin where theres more resources.
How much time have you spend in Pereira?
How's the women quality in Pereira? Does it compare to Medellín?
Do not compare south america to chicargo. Usa is the worlds biggest shit show
Well, you just compared. The purpose is to compare an unknown entity to a known entity.
The most beautiful girls in Colombia, if not the world, are in Medellin. Really. Of course that's only my opinion but I will not budge from that.
I granted you credibility before you said you will not budge. It sounds like you don't have an open mind to travel and discover amazing places.
@@jakemccoy Well, seeing is believing. Plus crime against tourists seems to be getting worse in Medellin so I'm going to factor that in to future vacation plans.
@@JacobStein1960 It sounds like we share similar tastes in women. I need people like you to keep traveling and telling me what is out there. I can do the same.
@@jakemccoy At the moment the Philippines is on my radar. Much less crime, especially outside Manila, and allegedly many attractive and friendly ladies. The internet is full of details.
Great video my friend. Keep up the fine work.
Any other Spanish speakers bothered by the way he says Medellín? There is no J in it brah....the double Ls in Spanish are pronounced like the English Y, not J or G.
This is how the local paisas and all Colombians for that matter pronounce Medellin
@@CJDA415 i have plenty of Colombian friends, none say it like that.
@yzuniga13sa I’ve been to medellin multiple times and have never heard a paisa not say in the way it’s said in the video
@jakemccoy lol no they don't, where y'all getting this from. Considering that the English J sound doesn't exist in Spanish.
Native Colombians pronounce Medellin with a strong "J" sound. You will announce yourself as a new foreigner if you use a "Y" sound.
Nice, clearly explained video. Thank you! Is the water drinkable from the tap like it is in Medellin?
Great video! Still chasing the dream of 6 months in the US, 6 months in Colombia- very hard to find a way to do it. Would it be possible in your opinion to live in Pereira for around $1000 a month? I know that's not a big budget.
Peace and Blessings
Most of those Issues that ish* is happening to you involves Asso'hol!!! Just like in America. That Asso'hol have you Doing riske' Ish*!!!!!!
There are so many interesting places, towns and cities in Colombia. Ive been to a few over the years and every traveler should explore and figure this out for themselves. I typically have major dislike for tourist hubs like madellin, but will reserve my opinion in this case, because i didnt make it to madellin
Watching this video reminds me of Bucaramanga. I have been to Bucaramanga lots but unfortunately I found Bucaramanga incredibly boring. If you are into the nightlife then Bucaramanga is not a place to consider. I cannot stress enough how boring I found it. This city gives me the same boring vibe.
Yes I did some more digging. Medellin is 4 hours drive.
Region PaÍsa 😃😀
6 years ago (2017) everyone in Antioquia I talked with (Colombians) told me Pereira was the best, friendliest, safest city. Manzinales was the other city people recommended.
Keep talking about it and pareira will become medellin 2.0 in the next 3 years. You never learn ?
My understanding is once you get off the plane in bogota. You still have to drive about 2-3 hours to get to Pereira
If you're going from Bogota it's about a 7 hour drive.
Have you found local bodyguards out there if I wanted that option???
Pereira is definitely on the bucket list. Where are you from in the US?? I’m from Miami
Houston
Don't go... unless you want R.i.P.
Every city is better than Medellin.
can you do a similar video about manizales? looking to get out of med
Pasto Colombia is the best city in Colombia. Cooler, but safer and with good people.
Ok. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the input.
You have a good narrator's voice. I definitely will be checking out Pereira when I come to Colombia. I'm thinking of flying into Bogota and then exploring Pereira. The prices in Medellin for airbnbs etc have skyrocketed in the last two years.
The prices have definitely increased! Thanks for the comment and compliment. I appreciate it.
Live in Colombia at your own risk. Drugged, robbed at gunpoint, stabbed, watching over my shoulders. No thanks.
Medellin is an international city... Pereira is not... It's a small grungy town...
I spent a few days in Pereira in January during my 3 week Colombian tour . I preferred it to Medellin . I found the latter to be a tad overrated . I enjoyed Barranquilla also .
I love Barranquilla.
I had the privilage of spending 2 days in Pereira back in 2022. It's a jewell, and the countryside is breath taking.
Pereira is part of the Paisa region of Colombia that makes up Medellín and the coffee region: Pereira, Manizales and Quindío.
Yes and Armenia, another one of the major cities in the coffee region, is actually located in the Quindío department. Thanks for the input!
You are not safe anywhere around the world if you are alone, drunk and out walking in unfamiliar areas after midnight. Safety is more about YOU than it is the local crime rate. Criminals don't usually like daylight, so I do all of my errands in the morning while they are all in bed. Can Colombia be dangerous? Definitely, but you have to work at it. Get on a dating app and hook up with an 8, 9 or 10. Tell her, "Sure, you can bring your girlfriend along!" then when they suggest going back to YOUR place to party, you are about to get drugged and robbed (or worse). If you use good judgement, you will never be in danger.
Great comments, and thanks for sharing this moment with us. Don't forget Armenia and Manzinales. I think all part of the coffee ☕ triangle?
It’s a mini Medellin but Medellin will always be Medellin
Awesome! Moving there next month from Medellin! Thank you. Where are you now, Sir?
Just got back to the States a couple of days ago from Buenos Aires. I'll be here for a week.
The block is hot is Medellin…
