How big is the paper?
12x12 scrapbook paper.
Very helpful tutorial . I love it.
The best part: the video and the hat making wasn't 10 minutes, it was 3 minutes!
It's fast-forwarded :)
But you didn't show how to make the top part???
Yes
Lovely
Good way to make the Cap. 🙏🙏
واووووووو 😃😃😃😀😀😀😄😁❤️❤️❤️😮😮😮😮
You’re amazing, thank you. I’ve just purchased the book😜
Are you able to embed or migrate a merchant account in show it?
You can imbed PayPal links, or create a link to an outside merchant site like Etsy, or Shopify.
Love it
Nice work, and so satisfying to watch!
Is there a way to transfer ownership to a client?
You can't transfer "ownership" per say. There are a couple things you CAN do. 1. Give the share code of the site design to your client, and they will have everything from your original design - EXCEPT any organized files/images. But they will have/see the ones you've added, they just won't be in their library. 2. You can start a Showit Account for your client, and that way you can set it up/organize it for them, then send the share code to yourself so you have the design/template in your own library.
@@DesignThisKernThat Thank you! Will the code allow them to make alterations to our site we designed or will they receive their own copy they can edit? Ex. selling templates to multiple people - does everyone get their own copy they can edit? Also, do you know how we can publish our templates/ make them for sale on our site?
S G you give them a special code and when they open that code it’s like giving them their own unique template. No library’s transfer, so if the edit an image they won’t have access to the template image anymore.
I'm finding your videos super helpful! thank you so much
Super helpful walkthrough and you have a good voice for narrating videos - thank you! :)
Very nice
This is such a helpful video! I'm a Squarespace design and I've recently become obsessed with Showit's capabilities. This is the second video walkthrough I've seen and it's super thorough! Thanks for sharing! :)
Yay! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I just wanted to be able to walk through and explain what I've seen and from a birds eye view without getting super detailed.
This video would be great if I could keep up with you. It doesn't seem to be geared to people who are totally unfamiliar in this arena.
Sorry - my audience tends to be designers, or those who are learning to become designers. Id be happy to answer any questions if you have any. :)
I like the way you're spacing between the letter
es una tiza especial??
This is awesome
This is a really cool video, thanks for sharing. I totally agree the time spent is mostly in the wireframes etc and that makes ALL the difference in building the site. Great work!
i want fix if forever waht i do tell me bcz when i drw it my littel sister clean it haahhah waht i do plz
💑👪👪👫🙋🙏😘☺
Thanks for this awesome and very detailed overview without overwhelming us with too many details! Are you planning to have more Showit 5 tutorials in the future? Would be very interested in the advanced options and advice/tips on best practices in designing a Showit site from scratch :)
I hope to! <3 I've been put on a little bit of side track lately because I became pregnant with #3 and also started a new full time UX/UI Job, so I've put some of my design/web videos on hold...but I plan to hopefully get back into it. :)
I realize this is an "older" video, but I just stumbled on it while looking into choosing Squarespace or Show It for my new website... I think you convinced me to use Show It!
john1910 that’s awesome! Let me know if you have questions it’s my favorite!!
Awesome. Thanks so much for the reply! Ok, so I do have one question. I'm a brand identity designer myself, currently rebranding myself under a new studio name and am torn between using Squarespace or ShowIt. Squarespace is a little more affordable and includes a blog in it's standard options, whereas ShowIt upsells that feature. (I don't currently have a blog yet, but I would like that feature.) I also just had a developer friend tell me that ShowIt isn't as "responsive" as Squarespace? I'm not sure just yet exactly what she meant by that...I'll find out though. Curious your thoughts on one platform outweighing the other. Would love your take!! Thank you :-) ~ Josie D. PS: My current site is just a portfolio site via Dunked.com, as it was started with the intent of marketing my work to potential employers when I was looking for full-time jobs. Then I molded it towards freelancing, but that's just NOT what the platform is for. I've designed one client site (suuuper bare bones) in Squarespace. Other than that, I have no preferences towards one platform over another.
Super cute Devan!!
Thanks!
Thanks so much. Great video!!!
i love love love your channel!!! keep up the great video work!
Thanks Brianne! I'm glad you love it! Its new so please let me know if you ever had video ideas! <3
Thanks are sharing these tools!! It's great to know what you are using!
I love using photoshop for cake sketches with a tablet! More and more I'm leaning on video editing apps for social media like hyperlapse
I've heard of hyperlapse, but haven't tried it yet. Your timelapses are always so fun to watch! I get lost in watching them. LOL
i was first introduced to photoshop and was a bit familiar with it coming out of high school. i remember hearing that we were going to learn about illustrator and thinking it was some kind of drawing program haha. i bounced back and forth between those two in college, always sayin "hellllllllll naw" to indesign. but now in the "real" world i love all three in conjunction (as well as premiere pro, after effects, animate, etc.. haha)
Haha! yea! I kind of use all of them now but InDesign stressed me out, sometimes it still does. Unless I'm doing a book or magazine thats over 15 pages, I use Illustrator...LOL. But I use photoshop a lot for UX stuff or when I need to do some weird effects to a photo or even some of my illustration work. I've not ventured into the premiere pro, after effects as much...I'm still at the "hellllll naw" stage on those. But I also don't NEED them for what I usually work on.
but you must use something to edit your vids right? something more user friendly like imovie?
Yup! That I've got down. I also use Keynote for some basic animation.
How many sheets do you use per tassle?
monica maldonado usually 2-3. It depends on how big the sheet is,
I think in this particular video it’s only 1 sheet but i had an oversized piece from Michaels craft store
Design This. Kern That. Ok thank you! 😊
It's funny to go back and look at work you did a couple years ago and see all that could be better. I should try this again and on a better surface...this wall is VERY bumpy. Thank you all for the nearly 40k views! <3
super cool!
Amazing tips as always, my friend!!!
I love these time lapses... they are just so fun to watch!
I LOVE the edits! Seriously, amazing!!!
A simple adjustment but I think it made a big difference. :) Glad you love it!
This is so helpful! I don't do much design work but this helps me understand what designers are offering me!
Thats good to know! <3 It's also helpful in case you get an original file knowing what the files are for and how they differ.
What do you think? Do you like the edits and suggestions I gave? What would you do?
What platform do you use the most if you use Adobe programs? If you don't what are you hoping to learn more of?? <3 Leave a comment below and let me know!
Ahhhh!!! I love this video so much and it makes it so so clear to me! Thanks for sharing!!!
Girl, you dropped so many knowledge bombs here! I love it, thanks for chatting about the user experience.
"P.S. I'm not reading your newsletters." hahaha #sorrynotsorry <3 Ain't nobody got time for that!
Nimbi Creative by Devan McCabe girl you better read CC'S newsletters, hehe. I thought that was funny because I don't read them either.
obvi! <3 haha
Such great advice and explaining the difference between UX and a client experience. Both are definitely very different (but yet also related).
So true. You can't have one with out the other and except a successful biz.
I loved this Devan! It was weird seeing myself in a vlog. Haha. But this is such a fun way to re-experience the trip. Awesome job!
I'm so glad you liked it! I wish I would have captured more moments. It's a new thing for me to record like that. But I'm glad I did it.
Always so helpful and fun to watch Devan! I learned a lot and thanks for sharing! :)
Wooohoo!!! <3
