I wash my hair daily and mine is like this but I live in a very hot climate where I am constantly sweating. The key is to keep it braided, and sleep with it braided. I don’t brush mine. Only to braid or to put it up.

I only wash my hair every two week. I have a different hair type, but she is correct. My hair doesn't produce oil like white people. I must add oil. My hair is growing a inch per month and it is down my weight. I use organic Ayurvedic haircare DIY I make at home.

Being Native American I always wanted my hair traditionally long. However it was cut a lot when I was a child because I fussed when my hair was brushed because of snarls and it hurt so much being brushed aggressively so a parent just would cut my hair short. To this day I cannot stand having my hair pulled. When I was old enough I started letting it grow. Then over ten years ago I started trimming maybe once a month and it grew even longer. It is now to my tailbone 😊

Corn starch helps also in between washing but not too much of it 😊

In middle school, I tried to wash my hair as rarely as possible and was using dry shampoo because then it began to talk about how "good" it is for hair and extends the time between washes.. I got seborrhoeic skinitis and after years I'm still fighting it so no. It’s not for everybody.

The thing is hair washing depends from person to person. For me, I have tried washing my hair once a week and my scalp gets really dirty since I go out all the time. So I wash my hair thrice/twice a week.

Lots of great advice! I'd add: wide headbands and bun forks can be jazzed up with flowers, lace etc to channel that excitement and interest in your hair, and make styles look special.

I also had log hair like you but cutted it because of some influencers said that it would make your hair healthy😢
