well for one day, certainly it comes as "exotic", even "nice". But living here, between the fact that everything is grey, the dirtiness, pauperty, toxicomany, abnormal prices, grey people (unless they had one many beer, that seems to be the national sport there), well that is the reality. But thank god for these toursits, they just stay one to three days there.

Lol the food is disgusting and of low quality in general in The Netherlands from Albert Heijn to the restaurants. After 18 months of living there, was so happy to leave. I appreciate they have honest and not overly rated reviews.

I'm from Rotterdam and I agree that the "Markthal" building is iconic. But foodwise, it's a tourist trap, twice as expensive as outside of the building.

Nat and Katrina- We like this food hall. Our favs are the fried chicken and the dumplings ( plus the nice assortment of beer/wine 😉). I couldn’t imagine living there, tho. I’m still smh at that very squaky seagull.

Bij een tamelijk feministisch klinkende kreet als "the most famous Dutch woman" had ik meer aan Alletta Jacobs gedacht. De meeste standbeelden zijn van mannen, maar de meest afgebeelde persoon is H.K.H. koningin Wilhelmina, die het broertje dood aan ministers van haar vader had geërfd en zich graag had willen bewijzen op het slagveld, mede om aan te tonen dat ze niks onderdeed voor de mannen. Dat tegenstrijdige lijkt me exemplarisch voor de Nederland, net als als republiek een koninkrijk stichten, precies als de halve wereld de monarchie bij het vuilnis zet. Het moet in Nederland vooral altijd net even anders dan bij de rest. Als je de activisten wegdenkt, is het allemaal best wel grappig.😂

This little town of 195 000 inhabitants in the middle of a 700 000 urban aera .It's a grey city because they use grey stones to build their houses but they use red bricks too so it's a red and grey city . It's in front of the "markthal" in Rotterdam. A restaurateur is illegally feeding them leftover rice that's reason why they are so annoying. Interesting tit bit beside the markthal you can now watersurf, cost 50 euro for an hour. This is since July 2024.
