12 seconds is relatively quick for any age, at least for 100 yrds. Don't for sure if we're talking yards or meters here, but a 12 sec 100 yd scored a100 pts on a physical fitness test for high schoolers when I was there. Rewatched. Guess it's meters. That is REALLY impressive!

@@blusheep2 He's neither friendly nor unfriendly to it. He responds to it as a scientific proposition which has some salient points, but which the tools of science are not able to investigate.
@@johnpatmos1722 Hes obviously friendly to it, especially if hes saying it "has some salient points. If you listen to him closely though, he doesn't say that science isn't able to investigate it. He says he doesn't know how science would investigate it and from that you can tell that he means by direct empirical research. ID is an inferential argument as are other historical sciences. ID then can't be tested directly it must be tested through its predictions, just like evolution. Hes a scientist so he is familiar with the research that has done so. Not to mention hes friends with the discovery institute which you know has filled him in on the science that going on. I think that he just keeps a professional distance from it for the sake of his career and being lumped into a think tank group instead of being recognized for the work hes done in his field. Especially since there isn't anything in his field that would be a help or a hindrance to the "cause" other then pointing out the problems with the chemistry and the standard model.
@@blusheep2 Well, I certainly am sympathetic to your point. I was dismayed when I heard him say that he is not a proponent of ID. His position is at once something of a compliment, while yet falling short of embracing it. The compliment is that he is acknowledging that ID engages in scientific methodology, and is not religion masking as science. But as a scientific theory, he cannot embrace it as yet. Better that we simply leave it to Tour's own words: "I have been labeled as an Intelligent Design (sometimes called “ID”) proponent. I am not. I do not know how to use science to prove intelligent design although some others might. I am sympathetic to the arguments and I find some of them intriguing, but I prefer to be free of that intelligent design label. As a modern-day scientist, I do not know how to prove intelligent design using my most sophisticated analytical tools- the canonical tools are, by their own admission, inadequate to answer the intelligent design question. I cannot lay the issue at the doorstep of a benevolent creator or even an impersonal intelligent designer.
