What does Mr Wiggles mean with rock, skate and roll??

That's sort of a metaphor. By saying so he refers to the different way of grooves (bounce, rock and isolated grooves) , the bboying and popping. With all the 3 elements hip hop freestyle dancing was born. They're what makes Hip Hop Freestyle dancing different from other dance styles. You'll see popping in Hip Hop Freestyle but it has bounces, party dance moves and ground moves like breaking aka bboying/bgirling.

Rakesh Ghising boogie ist another term for electric boogalo (=how the East Coast call it) which is nothing else than popping.

He’s referring to “Electric Boogie”. East Coast dancers saw poppin and figured the hit came from a little shoulder shrug. They did the whole dance with that shrug and the bounce found in Bboying. That dance became known as Electric Boogie in New York.

Naming things is hard because you can't get people to agree. But a lot of this could be cleaned up if battles would define their terms as far as which styles belonged in which categories.

Harold Buck thats the reason why most of the battle results are hard to understand. Some people only do mostly popping in Hip hop but win ( look at Kefton). Or people like Rice Ball who mostly do hip hop stuff like bouncing, using up to date dances and lose in Europe. Europe has its own way to see what is hip hop dance to them.

@@j2dakdak719 I got back into dancing after a 34-year layoff in September of 2017. I've done a lot with various sports-working on rules and as a referee, league board member, officials assigner, and coach-and after doing a few battles, I had the thought that you could write up rules and judging criteria for battles and have trained judges. Then I decided that would be a waste of time. For starters, it's not part of the culture, so you would probably have difficulty getting people to buy in. But the real issue is that you just end up kicking the can down the road, pushing the complaining from "Those judges didn't pick the right person" to "Those judges didn't correctly apply the rules and judging criteria." If you want evidence of that, watch any major pro or college sport: it will have tons of rules and well-trained officials, but people still bitch constantly about the officiating even though, in many cases, you literally have the best officials in the world working the games. Still, I think a short statement about what the judges in the category will be looking for would be helpful.

Harold Buck yes, I agree with you that its difficult to excute a transparent system bht it would help to go against that corruption a bit than not doing anything. Newbies in the game would get disoriented or discouraged to continue dancing. I know as well that in other major sport we have issues as well as people also act in a corrupt way. Nevertheless, my point is merely to get the newbies or the non-dancer-audience a clue what's so great about dancing and how to compare one to another in a competition. Me, I've also organized dance events, taught a lot of people how to dance and also do other sports. What droves me to do all that is actually the excitement and that's all what's the contrast to boredom. Imagine things would keep going on like this and we'd know and keep having conspiracies about the judgment policy and that wouldn't also do anything good to the scene.
