When life hands you lemons | The Fall of the House of Usher
A short scene about life giving us lemons from The Fall of the House of Usher Episode 3 talking about how opportunities should be made well-off, with a rather extra addition of more realistic concepts of what people do with lemons these days. Bold statement to be made of something we all fall for on a daily basis. Marketing has always been part of business however the question is, where do we draw the line? Perhaps in this era where information is so accessible, we may need to question what is true, false, real, fake or as the trend says, question the matrix? Spotless acting though. Goosebumps.

Like how De Beers does with diamonds, they artificially choke the supply which increases it price. They went ham on the marketing with diamonds, saying how it's the only way you propose and all of that jazz.
Finally someone who realized lemonade is still SOUR.
Ironic Hollywood made this. They are the lead of lemon culture
This is exactly what Bill Gates is doing with seeds and farming.
"Sell me that pen." "Do me a favor and write your name on a napkin." "I don't have a pen." "Exactly. Supply and demand."
as a top-tier movie director (Ted Hecksey, look me up), a former real-estate mogul, and corporate leader, I can with 100% confidence confirm that this is how all of us corporate leaders think. Effing Lemon.
I'm interested in the tit-lemon.
This is where Auggie was reminded just what kind of smart monstrosity of a man he is talking to.
Beethoven was lemon before anyone else
I'm shocked anyone doesn't immediately die of cringe during this scene. Smoke and mirrors; Bruce Greenwood's delivery masks how painfully obtuse these words are. So bad. Show was a mixed bag but this scene almost made me quit watching. It was the highest example of my problem with the show.
I met Bruce Greenwood at Comic Con and he said this was his favorite monologue to film!!
"when life gives you lemon you demand life to take the lemons back. I'll get my scientists to invent a combustable lemon to burn your house down, with the lemons"
Reminds me of Caitlin Clark and womens sports at the moment.
"Lempire" made me spit out my drink
So lemon!
Used that lemon in EVERY WAY!
I didn't catch until now that at the end, he says LEMpire 😂
"Money Game" - Ren
Yo, that's the best pro-lemon campaign I've heard in a long time.
My man Carl Lumbly as Dupin! He has been around for decades, but he is aging into a chiseled version of William Marshall, who could steal scenes from anyone back in the 50s and 60s, even from William Shatner on Star Trek. Marshal was in 'The Ultimate Computer', foretelling all the difficulties we're having with AI back in 1968.
The advantage of being a screenwriter is that you can take a month constructing a speech like that, then have the actor rattle it off in two minutes so he looks like an utter genius.
When life gives you lemons say f**k the lemons and bail.
I know a song that is effin lemon.
It is lemon by kenshi yonezu.
I used to play an online game which had an "auction house" that operated exactly like a market.. I'd buy stuff out and then I'd resell it. I'd hike prices then lower em, sometimes i needed a boatload of materials for example, I'd create a false history of sales lmao yup. I was rich lol. Online only, I played too much. I have money, not that kind...
And 1000 percent more for oil costs under Biden
Lemons DO make you cringe...
Suggestion to college professors whose syllabus includes the principles of capitalism and ecomomics: Send a link to this video to all your students. That's it. Don't bother having them come to class. No finals needed. Class dismissed.
My mother said this is the best propaganda lesson she has heard. Gen Z, let Uncle Bruce help u ❤
The way this show kills capitalism!
I remember being fuckin blown away while watching this for the first time. Just mind blowing monologue
What song is this in the back?
Forget all the murder and other vile behavior. Roderick is at his scariest while explaining how capitalism really works.
honestly, really terrible cringe writing
The look on the detectives face at the end is what it looks like when one has been “Lemoned”
I'll break it down mothe***ckers line by line, This is business economics in a nursery rhyme
One of the most cynical and well delivered things I've seen since CDB Spender's "Life is like a box of chocolates" soliloquy on the X-Files.
This reminded me so much of Cave Johnson.
The Fall of the House of Usher is probably one of the best productions I've seen on Netflix and this scene is one of the best moments.
This is actually what happened with milk ("got milk?" campaign) and apples ("one apple a day keeps the doctor away" campaign).
Most people don't even understand that this is simply capitalism 101.
A beautifully crafted dialogue from "The Fall of the House of Usher" presents a satirical and exaggerated critique of modern capitalism and its mechanisms, as portrayed through the metaphor of lemons. Profit and the nature of consumerism and the ethical considerations of business practices. Or simply, "f'ing lemon!"
Its totally lemon 🍋
This is lemon
Bruce is so goddam lemon!
Terrified at how right he is and how cool te delivery is
Poor Dupin looks so confused at the end lol
Mix of Monsanto & the diamond industry
I honestly am not saying this to promote myself, but I uploaded a story a while back called Fuck Oranges and for whatever reason this scene blends so well with it.
he is talking about bitcoin
Finally some good writing and acting that also has truth to it. Some people are just wired differently.
