Wir wünschen euch eine entspannte Fahrt und eine tolle Zeit in Berlin! Die Bahnpreise sind echt hoch, wenn man nicht mit Monaten im Voraus bucht. Für die Strecke würde ich jedoch die Bahn auf jeden Fall empfehlen, da sie die einzige ist, wo man mit der Bahn deutlich schneller ans Ziel ist als mit dem Auto oder Fernbus.

@@twinwalks Ist klar, aber die Entscheidung nach Berlin zu fahren ist vorletzter Woche gefallen. DB wollte über 250€, auch mit BahnCard Ermäßigung. Die 10 Stunden und 6x Umsteigen mit Deutschlandticket wollten wir nicht, deshalb Flixbus. Es gibt Schlimmeres.

also kind of funny, as a west australian this is considered quite a large town. there is only one city within 1000 kilometers of me this is over 100,000 in population haha.

Thanks for your interest and question! In general all the rivers are swimmable but not drinkable. The Rhine and the Danube are the busiest rivers and along their course there are several „Strandbad“ aka „River Beach“ where you can swim. Every river in the largest cities, where they are supposed to be more polluted, are swimmable (Munich - Isar, Berlin - Spree, Hamburg - Elbe).

@twinwalks Yes :-) My father was in the military. We lived nearby in Ulm. I can't wait to visit. I turned 50 this year and would love to see it...hopefully soon. Trying to convince my wife, children, and parents to tag along. Thinking about doing a tour of the Christmas markets next December :-)

If your focus is on Xmas Markets, right off the bat we recommend: Friedberg (next to Augsburg, not in Hessen), Kufstein (actually in Austria but directly at the German border), and Nürnberg.

@@albertafarmer8638 Sehr interessanter Bericht! In Deutschland hört man meistens gute Sachen über Kanada, Calgary scheint sogar eine verbesserte Version von Toronto und Vancouver zu sein. Alberta ist landschaftlich auch sehr schön :-)

@@twinwalks Hello again! Das stimmt, wir haben mal einen grossen Bogen um Toronto gemacht, uns reichen die Nachrichten... Vancouver ist zwar schoen gelegen aber so eng, extrem teuer und dann die ganzen Obdachlosen und Drogensuechtigen. In Calgary ist es (noch) nicht so schlimm schon wegen der eisigen Winter. Wir sind aber froh, dass wir nicht sehr oft nach Calgary muessen, immerhin kommt man schnell wieder raus nicht so wie Vancouver wo sich alle auf dem Highway 1 draengeln. Viel zu sehen gibt es hier in Alberta nicht, es sei denn man mag die Weite so wie wir. Herzliche Gruesse nach Deutschland 💟

Congratulations on the admission and my apologies for having to decline it. I don't know where you're from, but I came from Brazil to pursue a master's degree in Germany back in 2014 and during my studies, I could find internships working 20h/week that not only helped me fund it but also let me travel in Europe. The rents were not that high back then, but as a foreign student, you can still get a dorm room for a very reasonable price (~300€/month). Try to contact the International Office and ask about jobs and scholarships. Keep in mind that Germany offers an ocean of possibilities for students! I wish you luck and if you have any questions, let me know!

@@Blueskystars I assume you're an international student. Write an e-mail to the International Office (Akademisches Auslandsamt) and they can give you some directions. There are plenty of state dorms, but I can't tell you how hard is it to get a room. Normally there are a contingent for international students. In the summer it's definitely more suitable for tourism. The water temperature goes beyond the 25°C.

Changsha is international! In western restaurants it won‘t be a problem to find non-spicy food options!

In Mallorca it‘s quite hard to pick the most beautiful beach! 90% of them are amazing!
