The D-Day Cameramen Who Filmed Normandy Invasion on June 6, 1944 - WWII Then & Now
From Omaha Beach to Utah Beach: On D-Day, June 6, 1944, at least four detachments of the 165th Signal Photographic Company landed on the coast of Normandy to document the Allied Invasion of Europe. These combat photographers were armed, not with guns, but with cameras. In this mini-documentary we will be following three of the four detachments as we uncover their footage on the locations where they shot it!

My Father told me some guys drowned. They were left off where it was too deep & their gear was heavy. He was there and he said the Germans were hidden up in the brush on the hill. The bullets were flying overhead. I still wonder how they survived. They went onto Bastogne & Battle of the Bulge, stepping over bodies.

My son, Roy Wulf, was honored to be able to participate in an event at the French Embassy in Washington D.C. on June 6, 2024 to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day. We made a fun video of the event and posted it on his CZcams channel 'Mr. Roy Wulf' at czcams.com/video/cphGjHyHXDw/video.html -- My father (Roy's grandfather) was a B-24 Pilot in the Pacific. My wife's father (Roy's other grandfather, whom he is named after) was with the Army Corps of Engineers in the Pacific. Let's continue to remember the sacrifice made at the landings in Normandy and in the entire Second World War!

People these days have access to Sat-Navs, Detailed Road Atlases and Maps and still get lost or have difficulty finding their destination. In a battle zone in a foreign country with countless snipers and the risk of imminent injury or death, thats enough to test the abilities of the most ardent map reader, and most of the villages around there are called Saint- something or other. Respects to Snafu Docs and all who fought in that Conflict.

Yankee-Schwachsinn. Soetwas nennt man "menschliches Kanonenfutter".

Wow. I have been to the D Day beaches, including Omaha, and of course, to the wonderful and very moving Cemetry above the beaches. A magnificent place of tranquil remembrance. Also the British Cemetry in Bayeux is another place beautiful remembrance. It beggars belief what these heroes did for our freedom. I've also visited St. Mare- Eglise and to walk in the footsteps of all of these brave, brave young men is awe inspiring and yet, so sad. God bless them all. My gratitude can never be enough for what they ultimately gave. 💔
