U.S. B-52's flew over the Baltic Sea, in international waters, and Russia scrambled jets that illegally flew into Denmark's airspace, so yeah Russia would really give a "fuck". And the U.S. never landed or flew over Ukraine, nor landed in Poland.

Gotta love the Buff! I was stationed at Griffiss AFB in the '80s and watched the MITO launches. THAT'S something to see! They were injecting water into the engines for more thrust and it looked like the engines were blowing dark smoke out of them. Each one would take off in seconds behind the one in front of them and when airborne, each would turn slightly to get out of the way of the wing vortices (really disturbed air). It was really something to see and hear. Geat catch, Teddy!
The sound is normal as there is no sound quieting on the engines . Ups and FedEx planes are louder then passenger planes too.

They have 8 engines.
They've had virtually everything upgraded, from engines to a glass cockpit, etc. The airframes are inspected periodically for stresses and hairline cracks. Safer than a current Boeing! jk

58 active that's almost 5 dozen.
There are actually 72 in service as of today. So yes, there may be dozens anywhere at any moment time. Too old, but still able to carry nukes on a first nuclear strike attack

I have a regiment of 500,000 seasoned Icelandic soldiers stationed off of Norway's northern coast that will launch an imminent attack on Russia using skis. These would be NATO Icelandic soldiers, not the regular forces. NATO Icelandic forces are much more capable with skis than the regular army. Skis don't work on lava flows.

The A-10 is the best ground support aircraft every built, and the US military has been trying to decommission it for years. It's good to see they are coming to their senses with this plane. But the implications of moving them to Europe under the current situation in Ukraine is scary...
Remember that this aircraft was developed to halt a Russian incursion into Europe. Currently, they are being deployed to Europe, but are still in the hands of US airman. Imagine what one of these would to to the Russian trenches in Ukraine.
