Yardmaster Metal Shed Instructions Part 3 Walls, Doors and Completion
Final stages including loose fit of wall panels before tightening down, install of roof, then door assembly and fit.
As with previous stages leave all screws loose until you are happy the panels fit together and framework holes line up.
It may be prudent to add a touch of silicone over each of the roof and wall screw heads once tightened to improve weather resistance.
I've added a bead of silicone around the base where it meets the base, then screwed it down at approximately every 300mm/12" and corners.

It’s a shame that they don’t supply an eves filler and a ridge filler the profile of the sheets as this would help make it more water tight. You could rivet the overlapping on the sheets to keep them in corrugated position.

You should never make your shed base wider than the walls of the shed the reason for that is when the rain comes off the walls inside there's nothing you can do to stop it from getting under and going inside not even if you put silicone next time you make the size of the floor in quarter of an inch smaller than the so the water runs off the side and down on the ground if you understand what I mean

I bought the 10x10ft and there are no runners for lower edge of door so the doors are just hanging on upper runners so dont slide wellk. If i lower it it sits on the metal and is noisy. Annoying!

For anyone watching this, i am constructing my 10x10 version of same shed right now and have some advice regarding the roof. Don't join the struts together then connect them to the ends, join the half-struts to the ends then join the struts in the middle. Otherwise, with the 10-footer, things get pretty awkward.

Anyone assembling this or similar type of metal shed. I strongly advise to get some tech screws with rubber washers for the roof as the plastic washers will crack over time and eventually couse leaks.

We bought 2 of these sheds on-line last year for temporary storage before seeing any videos and knowing how crap and flimsy they are. Bought under a different sellers name but still same Chinese shite. Panels are less than 2.5mm thick, bend like paper. Followed instructions building first one. When second one was built we dumped fixings and use pop rivets. Strong winds in Autumn ripped first one from base causing damage to roof and walls, second stronger as better fixings but walls and one side of roof damaged, doors on both complete shite and both leaked before the storm damage. Morale of story is, save your time and money, don't bother with this crap.

I'm building this shed as we speak and have found these videos brilliant..Today I was tieing myself in knots as I completed the roof frame and one of the purlins bent over in compression.5 mins scratching my head and slacked off the purlins bolts and everything popped back straight.Marvelous....Onwards and upwards thank you.....

  • @christopherhollingworth

Good video except I think you will find that the base joining screws are fitted incorrectly from the underside rather than the topside.

Great video but crap shed. Incredibly complex. Many parts it’s not cut to size so instead of having full length of some roof or floor length, perfectly capable to fit the box, you get two parts to joint together and there is many like this. Reason behind it is they can use the same length for smaller or larger shed just by extending element and screw it in next hole. From manufacturing perspective is clever, from user perspective theoretically easy job become nightmare. On the top of this many if not half of holes dose not match pre drill holes during assembly even with almost perfect concrete floor. On the top of this…. sorry but there is lot more. I do not recommend this and I do lots DIY like this

If you had watched the official Yardmaster video you would see that the panels actually overlap from the other way and it looks like you installed them from front to back instead of the back to front, then your overlap would not be like it is. and also I noticed when you put the base rails together and you screwed it together from the underside, that is wrong also. You did an okay job for the first time but this video should not be followed by people sorry to say, you did too many things the wrong way and yes I know the instructions are very poorly done but a little know-how and common sense is also needed too.

I bought mine 2nd hand so I had to dismantle it first then rebuild it so I had an understanding of what I was doing. Building the roof separately is the way to go. Don’t know how many videos I’ve watched with guys trying to screw the roof panels in place while standing on a ladder 😂😂 Just one question. How do you cope with the condensation. My build is exactly like yours with the wooden floor but the condensation on the roof is dripping all over the floor and tools. Any thoughts Thanks again for recording this

Does anyone have any advice about the continual condensation on the inside roof. I'm assuming I have to ensure the roof is water tight before fitting my insulation but what is the best way to do this. I have already silicone as much as I can reach but not sure that its enough. If anyone wants to make a video on the subject please hurry. Everything in my shed is completely covered in mould which had defeated the object completely.

Built one of these last 2 days. Pain in the arse. Especially if stickers missing or wet. Pictures you need to study closely. As for the fixings so time consuming! Takes ages to pick up a small screw and add the washer then line the holes up. If I built one for myself I’d use hex tek screws with the seal already on the threads. Smash them home. Easy to break into you just need to take the fixings out. Cheers

    • @MrSmid888
      @MrSmid888 Před 3 lety

May I add, if you keep the base and roof square I only had a few holes not line up, but a screwed it in at an angle and it pulled it taught and the others lined up.

Mines was bought online the shed frame for a 5×4 & says fits a 6×4 on concrete, plus it was arrow head, but shed metal Amazon Chin getting refund soon I hope, cuz seller no reply, no support, or tell you what frame goes woth it, cuz not all have money or handy man, husband, poor, et they should think of that. The frame not seem real or works though good enough material. I hope your video helps me a bit figure out what is wrecking me rn. That is the shed base which had issues with. Not what I needed. I needed floor holding base for plywood.
