Thank you so much for posting this. It means a lot. I immigrated to the USA in 1963 as a 3-year old, and it's only now that I got to watch this much of my beloved Orioles in the 1966 World Series! God bless you.
I don't care for the modern era of baseball. I attended my first major league game in 1960. I was 15. Stopped watching the game around the late 90's. Serious Dodger fan back then.
I was 11 and this was the moment I started hating the Cardinals. Still do to this day. 🤣😭
I was born during the 1973 World Series, October 18th. My Dad remembered Tug McGraw was pitching.

beautiful dodger stadium. now its thugged out
Whitey was a cool dude when he managed KC and Whitey was still a cool dude when he managed the Cards. RIP to the Hall of Famer Whitey Herzog.
I was 7 during this series. Big Met fan from NJ with my dad watching the games. I thought Willie Mays was always a Met. I’m amazed at how much I remember. Rusty Staub was my favorite player along with Felix Millan. What a pitching staff they had. Too bad they didn’t keep Nolan Ryan. Imagine Ryan, Seaver and Koosman on the same team. I don’t remember how to spell his name, but he was amazing
The birth of the Big Red Machine and just another day at the ballpark for the Birds. Fantastic series between two of the best teams ever assembled. WTAF was the umpire doing in the damn baseline?? Not only did Hendricks obviously not tag Carbo but that was one of the worst umpiring plays in MLB history, due respect to Angel Hernandez and Jim Joyce.
It's astounding how long the St. Louis Browns suffered in perennial incompetence and how quickly and enduringly the Orioles were successful.
I missed a lot of classes that fall my mother really ragged on me when she found out
Hard to overstate just how good the 73 Mets played that September; especially with all the injuries. Shows just how good underdogs can be.
what was the format back then? 3-3-1?
Excelentes videos!! Tendrás el de la serie mundial del 2002 Anaheim Angels vs SF Giants ?
RIP Willie😞
I was at this game. I was 8. Still gives me goosebumps. Sad the Oakland Alameda county Coleseum will be gone after this season. What a beautiful stadium still in great shape. Sad they are tearing it down because it a top 5 ballpark in the majors.
Interesting to see what the Browns future would of looked like had they won 🤔
The Streetcar Series
I’ve never seen a blooper pitch before
7 and 0 that speaks for it self in post season play
Whitey traded them Vukovich, Ted Simmons and Rollie Fingers for David Green. Despite that horrible blunder, the Cardinals won anyway. Whitey later said that if the NL had the designated hitter, Simmons would've died a Cardinal as Porter's backup and DH.
The big red machine great club
I loved da Reds....but I loved Catfish Hunter as well......his arm was about shot
1976 ....was America to me ...everything was right with the World. Bicentennial...as a kid....life was good
I watched em all a starry eyed 13 year old. These were great days for baseball.
Al Michaels got it all wrong. The Minnesota Twins won the World Series for the second time in their history since 1924 when they were the original Washington Senators. The original Washington Senators relocated to the Twin Cities in 1961 as the Minnesota Twins in exchange for the expansion Washington Senators which they later became the current Texas Rangers franchise. D.C. would not another Big League baseball team until the relocation of the Montreal Expos, becoming the current Washington Nationals franchise, and won the 2019 World Series.
They may not have had the greatest players but someone always made the big play in key moments!
The funny thing about this series is Herzog called the Royals a "punch & Judy offense" when in fact his Cardinals batted .185 in the 1985 World Series while the Royals batted .288 the better team won 68 hits to 40 hits for the cardinals.
Cardinals didn't show up for game 7, that was a terrible call in game 6 and the Royals were lucky to win
@@wickerman4609 That one call didn't do cost them the series, Jack Clark didn't catch an easy foul ball as well, Orta was the first guy on by a missed call, shortly after that that Jack Clark gives the Royals an extra out, the better team won, when a call doesn't go your way, you cannot stop playing that's what the Cardinals did, they didn't perform in a winner take all 7th game, Cardinas Choked again in 87 in game 7 too it happens. Cubs did the same thing in 2003 in a game 6. A fan trying to catch a ball, the Cubs cried just like Cardinals and stopped playing, the Royals were the better team Period.
The Cardinals said they were robbed and in the end they were not robbed after that call they quit playing. The Cards got the calls in the 1982 World Series. I liked 1987 World Series better than this one the Twins just kicked the Cards butts.
Yount was obstructed at third in game seven.
Lasorda and Luciano were great. I can't stand the Dodgers but Lasorda was a riot
Rose says he always gives 110% plus in the 1970s Rose took amphetamines better known as "Uppers"
After the Reds many world series losses they won one but had to get some help from the baseball Gods.
I was 9 yrs old and lived in Massachusetts but a red machine fan lived it
It’s funny that the Milwaukee Brewers won their only American League pennant in 1982 before they switched to the National League in 1998 in favor of the expansion Tampa Bay Devil Rays who want to play in the American League.
Four years later, Reggie Jackson would play for the Mets’ crosstown rivals, the Yankees which they were in the 1977 World Series against the LA Dodgers and won 4 games to 2.
There will NEVER be another Vin Scully... R.I.P. Vinnie
Thanks CZcams time, machine. I'm in the 5th grade again.
82 Angels were loaded
How can they leave Oakland?
And i got to sit next to Lou Rawls!!!!!
I was there! Cant believe i got to see Yogi, Willie, hank Aaron and Reggie all in one series! Not to mention that entire As team Rollie catfish, vida, campy ..,...
R.I.P. Ken Holtzman.
Currently reading a book on the 1975 Cincinnati Reds. What a World Series that was. Yeah, that was a bad call in Game 3. It would have been overturned if they had replay back then. But nevertheless the Reds deserved to win. They were the Big Red Machine.
The 1974 Oakland Athletics are the best of the best. 😀👍⚾️
Sad day for herzog family!
And so should be Steve Garvey
I’m just saying. Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame.
Brooks was the best MVP ever
Hall of famers in all positions
