Exactly what I’m doing for my dog behind the back landscaping where he likes to run. My flagstones are oddly shaped, though, but it will be better than the cardboard pieces I laid down to kill the weeds! Thanks! I didn’t even think of the sand! Better get some!
This is freaking awesome thank you
Awesomeness!!! What was the cost estimate? Thank you for sharing!
Curious question. How tall is your back rest piece? Building this with my son tomorrow. My put padding on the back rest as well! Would appreciate the height of that back rest piece! Thanks in advance!
For the actual step (top) what boards did you use? Were those 2x6’s or some other kind of boards?
They are standard deck boards, which are about 1 inch thick by 5 1/2 inches wide.
He is too cute!! I have a question... Do the worms go in and out of the baskets back into the soil? What would happen if they were put into a compost pile in the making? I'm barely starting my composting and am curious if I could just add them to that!
Thanks! My worms are basically free range, so I imagine some will leave and never return. But I figure as long as I feed them and keep the space from getting too hot and dry, most will stick around. I wouldn’t add worms to an existing compost pile because it can get pretty hot in a big pile. Worm composting is shallow so that the heat can escape, and has less of the green to brown ratio. Although honestly I don’t focus on the ratio for the worms. I just try not to over feed them. Good luck!
I LOVE that you name the tools you are using
I’m so glad you find it useful! Thanks for watching 😊
CUTIE PIE LITTLE BOY!
Awesome! ❤ Mine is above ground. That’s because I’m old !😂
I think we’d end up with worm jerky if we tried doing it above ground here. It has been so hot 🥵!
This was awesome. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Can you tell me what the music is at 1:50 please, shazam has given me two very wrong answers. Excellent instructions for my new front door too, thank you. I didn't know about painting the edges different colours, but it makes so much sense now you've explained it! 🥰
I’m not sure the name of the music track. It comes from a subscription service I use for my videos. Thanks for watching!
Exactly what I was looking for. How do you paint a previously painted door? It was painted with a shiny coating of bright red. Looking forward to your advise. Thank you.
Glad you found it useful! My advice is to sand off the shine and apply primer.
Thank you! Exactly the ideas and inspiration I needed for my wrap-around desk stair!
Thanks for watching!
Very nice. I love the look of a louvered door. Your tip about dropping the door opening down to accommodate a regular door is super. I have a Restore Store near me, and can probably purchase an inexpensive used door from them for my own barn door project. I was holding my breathe vvatching you vvork sans eye protection, and also thought it might've been a good idea to have on vvork gloves for the demo part. (Sorry, my "VV" key is broken.)
Thanks for watching! Yeah those were my early years. I’m much better about eye and ear protection now ☺️.
Paver base goes over the stone (which should also be compacted). Paver base, by name, goes under (hypothetical) pavers as it can be set to a grade, not a rough stone surface.
WOW!! Did I like it? Absolutely because this is totally sensible and me being just a beginner I know that I can make this!! I want to really thank you for this video. All I have to do is find cedar slats
Yay! Glad you found it useful! Good luck with your project.
Awesome tip. Thank you!!
can i do this with a jigsaw?
Yes if the blade is long enough and sharp. Watch out for tear out though.
What size trim did you use? I’m attempting to do DIY built-ins and used 1 inch boards and I cannot find any 1 inch trim. Any suggestions?
I used a few different sizes because of the angles. I bought 2 inch and ripped it all down on a table saw to the specifications I needed.
awesome i love it.... thank you Laura
Awesome thank you for sharing! I'll follow your method with the exception of putting the post in planters with concrete ❤
Lovely
I absolutely love this project - great way to build utilizing the fence as a back wall - looks great. Can you PLEASE tell me what color your stain is for the picket wall slats? I am needing a color to match "weathered wood" shingles on my house, but darker almost like Japanese shou sugi ban. I will be watching this video many times over as I have a tall fence project to do that I want to attach this shed to. I think I will be using your video where you used cedar slats on the 8 foot fence for your friend. By the way, I'm female and 70 yo!
Thank you. Very helpful.
What are its dimensions/size? Cool idea! Thank you
Grandad did this ... look at those cancer hands.
Best design on You Tube.
Thank you! Best comment on CZcams 🤗
Thank you for this quick review. Seeing someone else install some thing always helps me better understand the instructions.
Really good video, nice to watch 👍
You're a rockstar!
I came here for ideas... stay for the cringe. So many more ways to do it easier and sturdier.
Did you think the thumbnail was a Dalmatian too?? 🐕
I did!
Maybe not a Dalmation but I thought it was an angry dog for sure
Tuyệt vời Bạn.
شكرا لك. 😊 فكرة مميزة و سهلة 😊
Ur absolutely cute😂
Thank you I am installing my little heads today and didn’t know what all these parts were for and thought I just pushed them into my black line so glad I saw this vid
WOW< that is awesome
Thanks 😊!
Great stuff - I like it.... a lot, especially at the end "...so I put up the lights and called it a day". 😂
Small roller or brush for the door (larger areas, not the detail).
Looks quite easy but I haven't got a circular saw. Can I do it with a plane manually ( A hand plane) ??
I wouldn’t trust myself to get a clean cut, but I imagine it’s possible.
lol... "...is me doing something for the very 1st time..." that's funny! I feel like most things that I do as a semi-pro handyman, is for the first time. Not because I have dementia, but because every job is different in handyman work. Greg [garden grove, CA usa]
Well good, I’m glad it’s not just me 😆.
You're so patient...good job...question, you didn't show you installed the door glide stabilizers at the bottom on your wood floor. Did You? and what does one need to do if there is carpet instead. Do you really need glides at the bottom? Thanks!
Thanks for watching! Yes, I did install a floor guide. I think you can get away without one to be honest, but my kids would probably bring the whole thing crashing down so I added it. There are options that attach to the door frame that are compatible with carpet.
Cover your hardware with painters tape instead of removing hardware. Depending on your style of hardware.
Looks great! Do the. Ike’s get rusty at all in the shed? Or does it stay pretty bone dry?
Nope, not rusty at all. The shed has been totally dry despite the fence as the back wall. The roof has an overhang so I think that has kept the water out.
👍🏼
make every space count!!!
I agree!
Very clever solution to a very small closet. Your boys are adorable especially with his comments about child-size safety glasses and sanding.
He loves his protective gear 😆. Thanks for watching!
Extremely helpful, very detailed instructions! Thank you!!!!
i agree , very helpful and easy instructions
Learned a lot from this video, you cover all the required steps and things to think about, I keep coming back to it. The lipstick tip, brilliant!
Thanks! I’m so glad you found it useful.
Great video but it was so fast I had to watch it a few times and pause.
Thanks! It was definitely hard to fit it into the minute or less required for the short format.
