Great video Gary. I know that area well. I have winter camped at that dam before ,great spot. Thanks for sharing.
Backpack brand/model?
@@michaelogden5093 It's a Eureka canoe pack. 60 litre I believe.
Looked like a nice quiet relaxing spot.
I found it quite relaxing. Easy paddle in.
Excellent start of the trip Gary. I camp at that lake all year long ,great spot.
I found the best campsite on the lake.
Another good one , Gary. I get poopy leg cramps too! Keeping hydrated & keeping my lower back loose & not swollen helps. We're up there for an 8 day trip this coming Friday!!!
Thanks. I have a 10km hike coming up soon. Stretches & hydration hoping will help.
Great video Sandra and Gary. Beautiful scenery. Your video's are getting better Gary. Thanks
Thanks Brian. Compared to many others, I still have a long ways to go
What camera are you using? The footage looks great!
An android LG phone. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Woohoo. Thanks for the shoutout although not my finest moment. Looks like a great trip ! Congratulations Sandra ! 🥳 Hope you loved it.
I never used to tie up my canoe either. Never crossed my mind to. Sandra was awesome on her first trip.
Nice one Gary! Perfect ending with a sunset & a fire.
It was a perfect day for my partner's first canoe trip.
Beautiful scenes! Love the waterfalls and the turtle laying eggs.
Thanks Glen. First time I've seen a turtle laying eggs in the widerness. An amazing sight to see!
A nice relaxing few days at a beautiful site . Doesn't get any better than that.
That was my thought too!
Great area with a beautiful camp site. Thanks Gary.
Thanks Brian. A shortened trip but very worthwhile for me
Nice work Gary....... What fun eh?
Jamie, lots of fun.
Nice views and adventure! Glad to see you are getting out! Cheers
Thanks. Retirement has its' rewards.
All the essentials and a nice view.
Exactly my thoughts!
Nice Video Gary, We just did this hike today June 3rd. Quite a bit more flow today!
Glad you enjoyed the video. Seeing more water at any of these falls would be great!
whats the campground number
I think I was on R12
Great tour of the various falls! This is an excellent resource for people like me who enjoy seeking out the falls around northern Ontario. 👍👍
Glad that you enjoyed it. Thanks for the review.
Beautiful spots Gary
Beautiful scenery and great weather. Was a great trip. Thanks Gary.
Thanks Brian. It was very relaxing and after the first few hours of rain, it was very nice the rest of my time there.
Looks like a great trip Gary. All the best!
very nice Gary thank you for sharing with us - Brian
Thanks Brian, Glad that you enjoyed it
What a great site . Beautiful views . Thanks Gary
It was a very relaxing weekend despite the rain. Glad you enjoyed it
Beautiful spot Gary. Great idea on the bear barrel.
Thanks Brian.
Great spot Gary. Nice set up for sleeping and meal's.
Thanks Brian. It was a nice 3 days away. Visited 2 waterfalls.
How many Falls does this make?
I visited 3 on this trip and there is a fourth by the Clydegale Lake portage that I visited a couple of years ago. But overall, in Ontario, I have visited 803 waterfalls. Thanks for watching!
hey Gary - we have done the Rock to Pen trip once - beautiful rushing falls there that you showed us. thanks for sharing your trip with us!!! missing it from Alberta... 🤠
Brian, I have been along this route three times now. I think I have all the waterfalls in that area now! Thanks for watching.
Well said Gary. Beautiful spot to be at. I always take a couple of extra dry bags,1 for tarp and or tent fly, so as to not put wet stuff in the tent pack. Nicely done.
Thanks Brian. I've been lucky to not have any problems with wet stuff. It rained pretty hard for half the day. Just goes to show that even after 30+ years of canoeing, there is something to learn.
I meant to go but my car broke down, too bad I missed it
I've been fortunate to see them play 4 times. I believe their CD's are still available. Hope you enjoyed this excerpt from the show. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful falls...very nice! Thanks for sharing🙂
Thanks! I've stopped there many times but always love it.
Lots of water falls and great scenery. Thanks Gary
Brian, waterfalls is my thing for sure. Most camping/canoe trips focus on them. Thanks for watching!
Very nice waterfalls! Something I never get tired of seeing on canoe trips is waterfalls.
Me too! I often plan my canoeing trips & my front country trips around waterfalls!
very nice sir!! thanks for sharing
Thanks Brian. I'm closing in on 800 waterfalls in Ontario!
Thank-you for showing all of those places. I'll be there for my 2nd year to T trip. Sadly, only for 1 night next week. Do you find Sep. is still comfortable? Cheers
Yes, I find September still comfortable. Wear a jacket and maybe a sweater. At night when it is cool, I generally sleep in track pants and am fine. Thanks for subscribing.
@@garysmith5975 Thanks for your tips.
I was sitting right in front of you! I'm wearing the blue hat/green jacket. I recorded and posted every song from the concert :)
It was a great show despite the rain. I'll miss watching them in concert.
Great video Gary, Pretty nice to be so close. He didn't seem to mind you being there, I guess he was too busy eating.......Take care, Bluefin.
I was a little nervous being that close but we did not get any closer and he did not make any indication that we were too close for his comfort.
That looked like a great show. Thanks for sharing Gary.
Thanks Brian. I've seen them 4 times in the park. Love their music. Have all 4 of their Cd's
What a great sight to see and experience that close. Well done Gary.
Thanks Brian. I've seen lots of moose but always delight in seeing them.
very cool Gary!!!! awesome sight to see no matter when or where but that close is so awesome!
Certainly was awesome! My second close encounter. First was on a campsite on Pen Lake. That was a female just a few feet behind our tent!
Very cool, Point Grondine is a bit of a hidden gem. We've done the backpacking loop and really enjoyed it, hope to do a canoe trip there someday.
Yes, it is a hidden gem. Not very busy, campsites spread out. I really enjoyed my stay there and I am sure that you will too. Thanks for the comment.
Nicely done Gary. Fantastic view. Will have to go there in the fall.
Thanks Brian. That unmarked trail is never busy. Even when the park is.
Another great video. Never been to Algonquin park yet so thanks for bringing us along.
Thanks. I enjoyed the hike. There are some hidden gems in Algonquin
Thanks for the vid.I have been to Crotch before.doing my first portage into Shirley with a friend.
Glad you enjoyed the video. It is a great area of the park. Not usually very busy.
wow not wrong about those views!! beautiful Gary - thanks.
Brian, yes I enjoyed the great views and the non busyness of the park. I'd go back again for sure.
Nice! Thanks for bringing us along. Beautiful park by the looks of things. Havent been to that park yet.
It is a beautiful park. Plus not very busy either. Thanks for watching!
Enjoyed your trip Gary!
Thanks Scott for watching. I enjoyed it too.
I’ve never been good at knots but the sheet bend drives me insane. Too many things to remember when it comes to knots 😂
There are a couple of websites that show pics of the knots. Before I found them I found some knots hard too. A reef knot is usually OK to use too. It helps that I have to know some knots to teach my Cub Scouts. Thanks for the comment. 😀
Reef knots my favourite because it’s so easy😂 I subscribed to your channel when I got back from being a jr staff at wheeler, and I’ve enjoyed it, watching your adventures are super interesting keep up the great work😁👍
@@Madturtle191 Thank you for all your help at Wheeler. And for subscribing here.
Nicely done Gary. Looks like a great spot. Good job on the knots
Thank you. I never used to be very fussy on knots but since I teach them to my Cub Scouts, I figure I should start to use them when appropriate. Glad you enjoyed the video.
very nice Gary! looks like a nice quiet trip hope the bugs weren't to bad. Like your vessel!
Thanks Brian. It was a very peaceful trip. Just what I wanted. Bugs were not a bother at all. The wind kept most of them away.
Nicely done Gary. Not a lot of people get to see that.
Thanks Brian. I have been very lucky.
A beautiful waterfall for sure - I need to see that in person one day - thanks.👍👍
One weekend a year, on Easter Weekend, they are accessible. It is a fund raiser for the Picton Rotary Club. A voluntary donation is requested. Well worth it.
