The Strange Floater rear end kit for drag racing transforms your conventional solid rear end, in which the axles support the weight of the vehicle, into a floating setup. Our kit is very popular for a Ford 9 inch full floater conversion. The drag race floater kit puts the weight of the vehicle on the wheels, hubs, housing and not on the axles. The result is axles that can handle more power and torque, more efficient transference of power from the center section to the ground, and the rear tires and wheels remain intact even if an axle is broken.

If only the axle bearings werent trash...have one in my fbody, cam heads ls1 and after a year of street only it trashed an axle bearing out of the blue...strong as this axle is no way in hell that should have happened, 35 spline alloy axles, torco 85-140 fluid. axle bearing decided to blow apart, should have went 9" like everyone else.
Did you go with junk green bearings?
@devinhudak9608 there is no "i" in this. They assembled it this way. They did a big batch of them this way.

I need one for my '80 Trans Am.
Just think I manually did this on a machine at Ford Sterling plant in 1979. The machine was already almost 30 when I worked on it. Production was 398 for 8 hours, lol then it was hug on another line that someone balanced them. Next they were crated and put on railroad car. Worked there 8 months while I was in college. I use to race the guys who did this for 5 years. In the beginning I couldn’t even lift them off line barely. At the end I could lift with one had off line. I’m small too

Calipers are made by Wildwood and rotors who knows anymore? The rest includes driveline hardware made in China. You are not buying made in the U.S.A.

Is there preload on this? I have a TruTrac in one of my cars which is..... ok. But I've got it setup pretty rigid and as soon a I lift a wheel like going up a gutter/driveway it just turns the lifted wheel. 0 traction × any torque = 0 drive
The N1980 S-Trac differentials are set up with preload. This will prevent the unit from slipping. If you have a unique application that may require more preload in the unit, we do have options. Please contact our tech department at 847-663-1701 to go over your application and we will be able to direct you into the best unit for your application.

No more than 20 pounds heavier than that 9 inch.
While it's heavy it has less parasitic loss than a Ford 9" and GM 12 bolt.

Well, this is an interesting question. What is the difference between Porsche or BMW carbon ceramic brakes and this material. Are they familiar or much different? This would be really helpful.

But still I have a question, can I really use it on a 911 turbo on the Autobahn? It says it will have a lot less life and a lot more brake dust and poor brake performance at cold temperatures. I would like to see then in real life.
@@kubanaltan - The situations vary. Type of racing, streetcar, what style of the race if a combo. Be smart about it. They will sell you anything you want. They just want your money now. It is not like it used to be.

The pro touring kit is not intended for drag racing. We do have a drag racing floated kit and/or offers a low profile (caliper) drag racing brake kit - the low profile caliper is specifically designed for 15" wheels. However, our brakes and drag floater - are solely intended for drag racing.

I'm looking at this for a drag application, so I'm looking for a smaller brake rotor to allow 15" wheels and possibly dual calipers. Is that an option?
Will this kit work on any year 8.8 and will it work with other brakes than the Wilwood? What does it cost also. Thanks.
