I was getting a little overwhelmed with all the info and the other CZcams videos went all the way explaining what EC and PH were, but they didn't do any demonstration like you, so thank you!

Thanks so much for this! You remind me of my mom teaching me her moms recipes
You are welcome! I learned a lot from my mom in the kitchen as well! Thanks for stopping by my channel. 🩷
Oh this is SO SMART! One of my favorites gardening channels does this! Says it takes a little while but it’s super worth it ! I used to make a compost tea w/ stewed coffee grounds & banana peels but THIS is so smart!!
Thanks for stopping by my channel!
my first year gardening in Edmonton. Learnt to wait for May long weekend to plant outside 😅
I delayed some planting until early june this year cause of our cool spring. Everything is looking great! Thanks for stopping by the channel.
Garlic scape pesto is my fav
Yum!
I’m so curious, do you prefer the sprout box or Grobox? 😊
I haven't really found much difference between the two. Both companies were great to deal with and the beds were both easy to assemble. So far - I love them both so will see how durable they are over time.
The pool noodle trick is genius!

LEAVE A FEW FOR SELF SEEDING. BEST PLANTS NEXT
Never have tried that - thanks for the tip!
i learned something new!
Ya! 👏
Do a lacto ferment with those garlic scapes. Put them in a jar, then add water and salt, ratio is the amount of water times .03 in salt. Thank me later😅
Thanks for sharing! How do you use the lacto ferment?
Also growing serranos here but I’ve been eating them my whole life they can be harvested at any size they’re very hot when fully ripe(red)
So hot! I prefer the sweet peppers, but have a good supply of dried serranoes for my cooking.
Im 72 and was taught to curl up the stems and fresh or freeze use when making pickles .. I no longer make pickles but do use the the frozen stems when making soup stock
Thanks for stopping by my channel!
Nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
When they turn red good time to harvest, but you can havest them green if you prefer. Id recommend retransplanting serrano plant so it doesn't die . Too close to your other plants.
Thanks for the tips!
Awesome!
Thanks! Hope your garden is doing well!
Try to grow a real corn, now sweetcorn! Tastes so much better, and impossible to find on stores. So even a small amount worth it
Where do you find "real" corn seeds?
Well done! Plants not crowded and good and healthy tomatoes.
Thank you!
They're very expensive - about $30/six-pack in Canada. You can cut it into quarters - one for each barrel - and that would be enough for 30 days.
good idea!
Amazing recipe 😊❤

how many hour to infuse the oil?

Why not use say Coke to lower pH? Baking soda to raise it? Vinegar to lower. It's not the space program people. No need to buy pH up and down $$$$. Simple stuff you already have at home.
Thanks for the tip!
Dude... its called CaliMagic. That's literally the entire joke of their branding. I get it if you find the joke a bit cringe but it's still not called "Cal Mag"
The brand is calimagic but most growers still call it calmag
Awesome! The weathers been weird here..50 one day 90 the next..rained every day since spring..lots mushrooms everywhere..lol
I see mushrooms everywhere this year - just not sure which ones are safe to eat! Happy Gardening Mike!
@@LittleGardenSK yes I'm too chicken!..even if research says ok
Thanks for the garden tour! It was encouraging to see as our zone 3 gardens won’t look like those on US garden channels. We have been having similar weather challenges this spring in northern Alberta (Grande Prairie) as well…some of my plants are not happy. My peas got chewed off too in my back yard garden (possibly mice but possibly birds?). My peas are fine in my large out of town garden but other challenges like beans not sprouting and trouble with carrot germination have been frustrating, but every year is different so we just keep trying!
I'm zone 4..its always a challenge and I agree can be a bummer to see huge fruiting plants in the south and we are just starting
Thanks for tuning in Jeanette. Yes, every year we face different challenges and have a few failures, but there always ends up being many rewards throughout the season. Good luck with your garden.
Can you make big strawberries like almost the size of an apple? Or is that a genetic thing?
I've never seen very big strawberries in my garden!
@@LittleGardenSK Thanks, I bet they taste good at least :)
Such a shame but it’s always worth testing and trying for yourself!!
Thanks! I've got a few ideas that I might try again this fall. Thanks for stopping by the channel!
Beautiful soap!
Thank you! Cheers!
I'm in Southern Saskatchewan and plant my garlic in 1 foot high raised beds. I've had good luck with that.
That's great. I think a better insulated container might still work that maybe i could store in my garden shed over the winter. 🤔 Thanks for stopping by the channel!
@@LittleGardenSKdefinitely worth trying. Just make sure they don't dry out in the shed. They also don't like to be too wet. 🤷🏽♀️
Sorry to hear you had no success. I'm in zone 6B - 16mi. west of Boston. I plant my hardneck in 7 gal fabric pots. I then put five of them in a 100gal fabric container and stuff dried maple leaves al around and then fill it to the top. I would say I have at least 95% success rate.
That's great - I think a better insulated container will work for sure. Will try again! Thanks for stopping by the channel.
Its so hit and miss...i just got scapes yesterday...on like 4 plants..ive planted probably 30 bulbs..so not great return..lol
Yes, even my with in ground garlic I only got about 50% Better luck next year!
@LittleGardenSK but to me it's amazing to get any so I'm thrilled..lol
Encouraging video. I still got time.
Yes!
What variety is that?
Beefsteak Bush Variety.
Hi, I was wondering, can the tallow be a higher percentage of the salve or does it have to be 10%?
hello! I think you could up the tallow percentage. Since the tallow is a harder oil, the texture of the salve may change but should still be fine. Thanks for stopping by the channel!
Awesome!...will be great!
Thanks Mike!
I'm wondering if she has holes for drainage in those pots she is using.???
You bet. I used a large size drill bit to make several drainage holes in the bottom before filling
I grow carrots in buckets so I can move them easily into shade or sun, as needed. I cover the seeds with a thin layer of sand and then a single layer of paper towels. Watering doesn't disturb the seeds at all that way. To check germination, I just lift the edges of the towel carefully and peek. The sand doesn't adhere much to the towel so if they haven't germinated, I just let the towel go back in place. When the seedlings are starting to show, I just remove the towel.
Great tip! I'm seeing some germination with my carrots now!
Ohhhh my god dear I did same in empty containers I’m ❤trying to grow veggies,I love your videos 🌺💕🙏

The algae is coming from light penetrating the can. You can duck tape the coffee can so that the inside of the pot remains dark. I did this and my roots stayed whiter.
Great tip! I will try that on my next round of indoor vegetables.
Great video
Thanks for the visit.
I'm going to try carrots for the first time this year. I don't like them myself, but several of my critters do , so why not try😊. I have the seed square too, I'll try this.
Good luck!
Did you show the results of the strawberries ? What NPK ratio did you use ? Everyone I know has had a hard time growing hydro strawberries in a stand alone system, I was wondering how yours came out….. *BTW, did you make your grow tent yourself or buy it ?! I still don’t have one and I just don’t want to buy those cheap Amazon tents…….
My grandson got to enjoy one or 2 strawberries every week all winter long! czcams.com/users/shortsdwiCDQXN1N0. The tent I have is a Mars Hydro - love it and thinking of getting a second small sized one for next winter's indoor growing.
Yes carrots take a long time to germinate. Lots people don't know carrots seed don't like to germinate above 15 degrees Celsius. I seed always early carrot seeds!! Covering helps a lot.
Thanks for sharing. I hope I have good germination! 👍

Is all that straw your walking on necessary for the Ruth Stout method ? Her videos seem very little straw , Thanks
You can use less if that works best for you. I use a lot to help keep the quack grass under control plus I have a good supply. Happy Gardening!
Thank you. I use aluminum cans and pine cones most often, but the old clothing idea really surprised me. What about drainage? I have problems with overwatered annuals most years (in Atlanta and just had two inches of rain in 24 hours. Many plants want their soil to dry out between waterings.
Great point! I have drilled several holes in the bottoms of all my tubs to ensure good drainage.
how long do you soak the plantain and flowers for before using please... thanks
Using the fast method - I steep in a double boiler on very low heat or in a crock pot for a few hours. The slower method is to leave in a spot out of direct sunlight for 3-4 weeks. Hope that helps!
