It would be great to hear some options to this question. I'm no expert, but as far as I understand, it's necessary to maintain a 'Balance of Power' principle, and this polarity seems to be composed of a dynamic between NATO and the CSTO Member States. If NATO continues to expand, meaning, including Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina , Georgia and Sweden as aspiring members as part of their Open Doors enlargement policy, it is natural to assume that the CSTO might also increase it's members, or, seek partners in different spheres, similar to political approach that the Kremlin has shown to Pyongyang. Perhaps the solution for such difficult situation could be found on the promotion of Global Values, for example, values that speak about Global collaboration on humanitarian policies, centering Humanity instead of fomenting aggression. It's like the problems generated on the Cold War are being revived, and the current conflicts are spectrums of miss-solved problems. I think we need to move away from this Nuclear Winter mindset, and focus on a Kardashev Scale goal set, aiming for the Stars in unity of consciousness as Humankind, not as citizens of broken nations.

No, the batteries would in no way keep cooling systems functioning and the workers fully understood they were not powerful enough, they were used to restore monitoring instrumentation.

Just watched Walking with the Enemy during which I researched Carl Lutz. Yes, what Pinchas Rosenbaum did was fantastic but also fantastic was what Carl Lutz accomplished! In this particular film, the story is focused on Rosenbaum (called Elek Cohen in the movie) but Carl Lutz, Righteous Among The Nations, will always be remembered and should always be honored for his bravery, compassion & determination in being cleverly defiant of "the Fuhrer" and his rescue of tens of thousands of people; people who were in addition to just being human were also Jewish.
