I've been searching for my Grandfather's bike since he passed. It was a cherry/burgundy 1968 Honda Hellcat cb450, I'm not sure if the hellcat thing was Canadian only, but I remember the decals and it had the scrambler style pipes My Grandfather's name was Ernest Berry and he bike would have been sold in the summer of 2001 in Ontario Canada A Longshot but I would love to see it again or find out where it ended up.
@@danberry3417 I hope you can track it down! I have heard that some of the 450s were hellcats, but haven't found much on them! I have a similar predicament, I would like to find my Dad 1969 Harley Davidson Sportster! He bought it in Arizona as a basketcase, brought it back to Illinois n we rebuilt it together! I wish you all the luck in the world, n hope you find it soon! Thanks for watching!
That's awesome you guys rebuilt the sportster together, best if luck locating it man
I believe that's a CL, not a CB.
@@jayabacromby675 I like the CL pipes better, so I got a set n put them on! Mufflers were rusted out, so I took them off n put baffles in the pipes!
I had a used one , bought it used in 1982 ran it for several years sold it ,never missed a beat.
Nice old Honda.
The only problem I see is the CL Scrambler has a different firing order and it sounds different number two you cut the pipes too short which changes the sound I wrecked my 250 Scrambler like doing that it sounded like s*** they need to be going way back about another foot without baffles and they sound great but when you cut them off too short it changes the sound the horsepower the dependability everything it sounded like crap where should I never did that but every time somebody does that to a bike it changes the sound and it's really not what the Honda should sound like
@@brantardrey7360 Thanks for watching, didnt cut them, the mufflers were clamped on with gaskets, so I just removed the mufflers cause they were rusted out n put baffles in the end, sounded better than strait pipes or with the mufflers I had! N I was using a Mic that changes the sound of the bike aswell!
@@JoshuaEagle1080 wow from looking at the bike they look a lot shorter than the ones were on my 250 Scrambler but it just doesn't sound right they should be longer pipes
@@brantardrey7360 I think the lower CC's, 250 n lower all had the muffler welded onto the pipes! Ive seen a number of 125s, 175s, n 250s with solid exhaust, unlike 350s n up
@@JoshuaEagle1080 later models probably I had a 65 CL 72 to 50 Scrambler with a 337 kit the muffler was off of it and I took the snuffers out I got a picture of it somewhere I had it 50 years ago
@@brantardrey7360 O that's right, the CL72 and the CL77 had long pipes with the snuffers, I completely forgot about those! I got a CL77 305 the same time I got my 450! The motor was stuck, I got it freed up buy cracked the piston in the process, got it running but wouldn't stay running, so I sold it to get a morw reliable bike for my Son to learn n ride, a 1969 CL125A!
had a 150 susuki before I went in navy, in the navy was 18 I bought a 450 cb honda 72 new and drove it for a year and sold it, when I went out to sea was a fun bike, Im now 71 have a 1998 hondda Valkarie and a 2018 Indian scout and a bunch in between the years from a road king to a gold wing
@@billc6019 That is Amazing! Thank you for your service! That is probably the most interesting back story I've heard from 1 of my Subscribers! Thank you for watching!
looks more like a cl450 (up pipes)
@@nedgreeneltch6770 That's what a few others have said, but it is a CB 450, I liked the CL pipes so I got a set n put baffles in the header pipes! I think the only real differences between the CB and the CL is the pipes n handle bars and I think an extra guard around the rear sprocket on the CL! I think the CL had a drum brake in the front aswell!
@@JoshuaEagle1080 if i could remember where i put the ones i took off my 68 50 years ago in miami , you coulda had them for free
I'm just now getting into bikes, and while I favor old Hondas, I'm going with a Suzuki GS for my first. Videos like this are great.
Thank you for watching, I'm glad you are following your passion of bikes, I wish I would have got 1 soon in life! Honda's are more reliable, but I think the GS line of Suzuki are a pretty good place to start aswell! Good luck!!!😁

When you review a compensator it might be incumbent for you to talk about whether or not you feel it’s effective and show it from a side view
I've got a 1981 SR250 Exciter and enjoy this video ,thanks for making it . I've rebuilt my carb ( left the insides jet and such in ) I've had it all apart before . Run s like a top . Happy riding .
Thats awesome, its a good bike n easy to maintain especially compared to my Honda 450! Thank you for watching and leaving a comment, check out some of my other videos, you mite see something else you'll like!
@@JoshuaEagle1080 ive got a 1982 450 Nighthawk as well and the motorcycle is incredibly fun . I'm working on cleaning it's twin carbs as of this weekend , and have enjoyed it's 6th gear on the Freeway rides.
That's Awesome, sounds like you have a good start on a great collection!
How do you like the compensator and what brand is it
I love the Wasatch Compensator, I takes most of the lift from the barrel rise, and allows quicker target acquisition, plus it looks cool!
I’m definitely going to get one for mine I just wanted some information about it thanks
That's a cl450... It has the scrambler exhaust
The vin says CB, and it came with the low slung CB pipes, however I liked the CL/scrambler pipes better, so I got a set n put them on! There is no difference in the motor, just handle bars, exhaust, and brakes!
I got a 71 for 200 literally needs battery and gas tank cleaned
That's a pretty good deal! I think the 450's r under appreciated, they r torque monsters, reliable, and a blast to ride!
nice video, i just bought a barn find 1976 honda cb400f with a lost keys.,i dont know much but what type of plugs did u use?and did it have only one key for ignition, seat and gas cap? thanks
Thank you for watching! There should be a number on the ignition, you can put that number into ebay ( Honda ignition key #-----) n it should give you options for a key that they will cut for you, or go to a honda shop with the number n they can get 1 for you! My tank doesn't have a lock! I found a key that worked to start it, but wasn't an actual ignition key, but to get the seat off, the key wouldn't work, so I pulled the lock off n pulled the pins out of the lock so I could use any flat peice of metal (standard screwdriver, other key's), and reinstalled the lock so it would still claspe into position bit not lock! I used a NGK BR8ES spark plug! For more in-depth look at what I did to get the 450 running n road worth, check out the 1st video on the channel, the quality is a little lower, but worth it to see the progress! Again, Thanks for watching, n be sure to check out some of the other video's
@@JoshuaEagle1080 thanks a lot for good information,so im just gonna pull the ignition out and find out if it got key code,i used a screw driver to open the gas cap but the seat is giving me a hard time so i tried taking out the lock off to pull the pins out,i wish i saw how you pulled it off lol"i got me the spark plugs number 2021 ngk d8ea from 0"Reilly auto parts....
The number on the ignition should be right on top where you put the key in, but I'm not sure when they stopped doing that
@@JoshuaEagle1080 Yes Sir,the old ignition did not have any key code numbers soi just bought and installed a replica ignition at ebay for $28 and like i said before, ive tried all kinds of keys and flat screw driver for the seat lock but i cannot still open it so im still gonna try to remove the seat lock mounting,i wish i knew how you took it out on yours lol" thanks anyway......
Perfect for a backup concealed carry piece you can carry in your pocket.
100% carry n snag free!
U ARE OUT TO THE PICTURE FOR THE MOST PART, RE VIDEO FOR A BETTWE LOOK!
Would the job have been easier if they tanked were removed?
Taking the tank of is kind of a pain in the ass, so it was easier for me not to, because I've removed the carbs before, but removing the tank free's up space and gives you more of a view to make sure everything is going back in the right spot and securely! Thanks for watching!
Didn't it come with a thiner mount plate.. and the screws that come with it should have larger heads on them.
It came with 3 or 4 specific mounting plates for different optics, the plate I used was for the Mecanik MO2
So this illegal for USPSA carry optics right?
I'm not sure, I'm actually curious about that aswell!
No compensator's are not legal in USPSA Competitions! Damn!
This puts you in open division
@@JoshuaEagle1080 you can have comps... just puts you in open
And you don't wanna be running against guys that have $4k-$5k open race guns, lol
15 minute video for a red dot😢😢
I’m getting ready to get a compensator for my canik is it worth the money or no
I definitely think it is, helps mitigate muzzle flip, for follow-up shot! Down side is you'll have 2 get a different holster! Thanks for watching! Be sure to check out other video's!
Just recently purchased one for my TP9sfx. Wasatch Arms. To me I mostly def can tell a difference. Seems like my muzzle wasn’t even moving. 😂 just got the thumb rest to try out also. Try a better camera angle next time, we cant see what youre doing
I just wanted to say I enjoy watching your motorcycle related content and I have one suggestion. It's very important that you do better with your audio. It's usually very, very low. That is probably the number one reason people will turn you off. A guy turns up the volume to hear what you're saying and then you hit them with a very loud table saw. Not good. Also, during fast forward parts of your radio. It's probably good to add music. I typically mute the noise from the video and just play music. My small CZcams channel has been growing and I'm just trying to help another guy out. Who was some of the things I did wrong. Keep up the good work.
First of all Thank you for watching and I appreciate the constructive criticism! Unfortunately this is a no budget format, doing all recording and editing on my phone, until I can get decent equipment(camera, computer, and editing software), I kinda stuck inna box! Thank you for you comment and viewing, I'm a small channel so both mean alot! I'm so glad to be able to produce content you enjoy! And I will strive to produce content you will enjoy in the future! Thank you again for your feed back!
Yeah I get it. I started out with just my cell phone but I pretty quickly purchased cyberLink video editing suite. It's under $100 a year. It makes the whole difference ! Of course you need a pretty standard computer to run the software. My laptop is over 10 years old and it runs just fine. If you want to stay on the free side, I would suggest just standing much closer to the camera for your intros and exits so they are nice and crispy. Clear to hear. A selfie stick would probably help a lot too. Keep up the good work and I'll keep giving you good thumbs up.
Sounds like you need to set the gap on the valves. If they are within spec then the engine rattle is likely the cam chain tensioner. Actually I’m going to say you should start with the tensioner. Good ATVS. Just rebuilt my little 1987 moto4 225. Fun little machine. Good luck buddy.
Thank you for the info, I will be sure to look into it! Also, Thanks watching, be sure to check out my other videos!
A rebuild is the terminology that refers to an engine rebuild, nor replacing some bolts.
You're right, I'll be more specific in the future!
I found one at a pawn shop a month ago for 200. It was dirty but i cleaned it up. I found 2 New Old Stock mags for 22 bucks each at a local gun store that had been there for years. I love this better than my 3032 Tomcat. No recoil. 25 ACP is 30 a box though for 50. I use Fiocchi 50 gr.
Nice, good find on the mags, when I looked for extra mags they were $50 a piece!
Factory magazines are running around $80 "on the market". Good find on the N.O.S. gunshop ones!!
What does the 14 1/2 stand for?
The length of the barrel! Its a lil tiny thing! My first BB gun is actually bigger!🤣
I have a mp25 also chrome yellowish pearl grips as it old
Alot of people dislike them but mine was solid!
@@JoshuaEagle1080 haven’t shot mine just got it and ammo for it bought as is but guy cleaned and dry fried it and oiled it and replaced any bad or lost parts etc some people say it’s junk cause they think its like the Jennings or Davis or lorcin but it’s not most say it’s reliable Jennings was his son who had that and Bryco and now phoenix arms .
I believe you are correct, Thanks for watching, and be sure to check out the other videos aswell, enjoy!
@@JoshuaEagle1080 had a g2c do not not like the trigger pull at all nothing like my Glocks or revolvers transfered it over to son
@@JoshuaEagle1080 nothing like owning used guns they tell stories like my 1982 model 10-7 was a police gun had officer intials and badge number etched into it rebuke some scratches and I replace the worn grips looks good now .
Expensive as they are, gotta use hollowpoints on the jugs, it really ups the action on hits. I had a .32-20 colt police positive that earned the nickname "milk jug deathray" due to backward seated hollow based wadcutters, and entirely injudicious helpings of powder, but the jugs would pretty much vaporize into atomized water and shredded plastic. Ahhh, the joy of senseless youth, lolol
That's hilarious! I will definitely b getn a box or 2!
My bet is you find the gear dogs on 3rd are beat up. Your '72 is a few years before they went forced lube on the trans ('75 on the cb550k and the 500t), and the splash sump is a bit undersized on the twins. 3rd is mid shaft, so most oil starved among them. The forced lube doesnt pressure oil the gears, but it sprays hell out of them, and the splash sump has a bit more volume. I switched out my 500 four engine for a 75 550, the lubing of the trans was one of the reasons. Yamaha had a decade plus of shift dog problems, all mid pack gears on splash only boxes, so its a fair bet your identical symptoms are kissing cousins, lol. Cored out pipes on the 450? She's nice and throaty!
Thank you, Those are just the scrambler pipes with no mufflers, not another bike around town sounds like mine, especially with all the Harleys!
As youre getting mixed first and second strike firing, id do a complete strip and cleaning of the breech (ultrasonic if possible), and very carefully (magnified) examine the firing pin (especially the nose), it's channel, and the breechface of the barrel in line with the pin. 100 year old "kid's gun" means she's probably seen corrosive ammo (so crud in the pin channel could be rust dust, lol), and a fairly certain overdose of dry firing (hell on rimfire firing pins, and the above mentioned section of breechface on the barrel). My bet is cruddy pin channel, and a little wear on the pin nose itself. A welding torch tip cleaner set (couple bucks at harbor freight) is nice for chasing crud out of the firing pin hole in the breech (where the tip protrudes, ding wee hole), and even scouring out little baby burrs there too (think little tiny round files made from steel wire). A couple loops of copper wire flattened out and then chucked in a drill, then bumped at the tip to form elipse shaped loops is good for "crud reaming" a firing pin channel (the "big" part, relatively speak) with solvent, to dislodge old oil gone to goo, dirt, lint, rust, wax, and firing residue. Id honestly make sure the pin and breechface are ok before dropping dough on parts (even cheap ones), especially on way old .22s
Thank you for the information! I appreciate it, n I'll be sure to pass it on to my Son who now has it and is an aspiring gunsmith! Also Thank you for watching and Subscribing, be sure to check out the other videos aswell n let me know if you see other you like!

Anyone who has ever worked on Japanese inline fours of the 70s and 80s know your frustration (and the crowbar trick). I think that the worse I ever had was a CB750. It does help using new boots but can still be a bear and a lose your religion moment. Watched this from the beginning and you are doing a great job. Looking forward to see how it ends up.
Thank you so much for watching n subscribing! It was a great bike to learn on, being my 1st inline 4! Got it for a good price from the junk yard outside of town n didn't cost much to get it running! Unfortunately, I traded it for a AMF Harley Davidson SS 175, but it was a bike I've wanted for a long time! Probly not the best trade, but it was a mutually beneficial transaction, they 16yo guy wanted a bigger bike, n I had always wanted a Harley dirt bike! Thanks for the constructive criticism, I'll be sure to mention it in the next video with the Canik! Thanks for watching!
Did you have any problems getting your compensator or with the company because im not getting any feedback from company or the app they sell through
No, I've had no problems with my compensator, n haven't had 2 contact them! My Canik originally had a gray 45 blast compensator on it, but the gun shop I bought it from offered 2 others a black 45 blast and a gold Wasatch, I liked the gold, n they installed it n had it ready when I came 2 pick it up after my 3 day wait period! I had a bit of a problem with my rail fitting correctly to my compensator. Email is hit or miss but I spoke with Justin from there and he was awesome! Fix my problem even though it was my fault.
Since then I have received my compensator I have installed it and I have put 800 rounds through it without issue aside from the tungsten coming off and limescale building up inside the muzzle break itself
