This was my solo at the end of the play. (solo, but the audience sang along) When I walked out to cheers, it scared me. ("How could I ever live up to that?") Then at the end of the song the applause (not just for me, I realize, but for the whole play) was amazing.
Thank you, you wonderful crazy audience.

Bluebird

Bluebird is a song that I started writing when I was standing in my carport with my ukulele. A couple of bluebirds were flying around. The muse struck and I strummed a few chords and started singing. After lots of re-writing and re-arranging, here is the final version. All rights reserved.

Today

This is an older song that was sung by the New Christie Minstrels. I heard them sing it in concert years ago. Here is my version. I hope you enjoy it. Today while the blossom Still clings to the vine I'll taste your strawberries I'll drink your sweet wine A million tomorrows Shall all pass away Ere I forget all the joy That is mine today I'll be a dandy And I'll be a rover You'll know who I am ...

Thank you for the great video, i like how you are so calm. My sister got me the set of 36 for my birthday and i don't think I ironed long enough because the colors washed out almost gone. I'll try again, ty for the video
Thanks Barbara. I guess I need to check out mine and see how they wash.
❤
Very interesting video ❤️ 👍
Great exhibition ❤👍
Thanks!
WOW. I’m headed to my sewing room right now. Will take your video and get to cutting. Thank you so much!
Thank you for the kind comment. I wish you much success.
I still come back to your video when I cut bias binding. The best video out there! Thanks.
Thanks so much!
...and that video just made my day! Thank you Gene😊
I am happy to have made your day.
That's the spirit! God bless!
Thanks for this easy to understand video!
Just found your channel and love the music I grew up listening to so many as my dad and brother would sing every Sunday at my grandmas house
Crazy cool...thanks!
WHAT WAS YOUR YAED IOR.1 HALF
THANK YOU YOUR GOOD
Thank you this was just the tutorial I needed. :)
Thank you, I am happy to hear that it was helpful.
Great job, Gene.
Thank you!
Wow you are a talented quilter!! I found you while searching how to cut bias strips from fabric! I hope to see more quilting blocks or projects in the near future! BTW did you quilt all of your works on a domestic or is this hand quilted or long armed? Either way, quite impressive.
Hi Lisa. Thank you. I quilt everything on my domestic machine as I have no room for a long arm and I prefer to do it all myself.
what you throw away we use for crumb blocks for quilts
Those pieces that "go in the rag bag" are often used for smaller pieces for paper piecing - and yes, for crumb blocks. I throw away very little in reality.
❤
😄
That was great! Congratulations.
Thank you.
Thank You so very easy to understand for beginners. I can do this😁 I loved how you had no clue either. That is me also but as you said too much is good as it can always be used for something else. I am firm believer more is better than not enough. Thanks for not complicating one continuous binding so simple not for newbies. Yeah thanks again.
Hi Gene, Best Bias Binding video EVER !! Question: What did I do when the ends aren't lining up correctly? I've been cutting them to fit but that's a pain !!
what manner are they not lining up evenly?
I'm looking for Laura Ashley designs for my embroidery machine, where can I find them?
I am sorry but I don't know. These came programmed into the machine.
Thank you
You are most welcome.
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Great little video!
Thanks Anne
Спасибо! Интересный и красивый рисунок!!!)
Спасибо за ваш добрый комментарий
Wow Gene! Congratulations on your exhibit. I had no idea you were so accomplished. I love your use of color! And you have mastered so many styles and techniques, as well as free motion quilting. Your paintings are lovely too. Keep up the good work and keep showing is to us please!
Thank you. I appreciate the support and kind words.
I return to this time and again. Thank you, time and again.❤️
Thank you. I am glad this is helping so many people
Bravo! Thank you for your video!
You are certainly welcome. I hope you are successful with the process.
That petal that ended up with a Too-dark edge... perhaps if you re-wet it, you could Blot some of the dark off... ?
Thanks, these were just demo pieces. I don't think I kept it. My experience is that the black is more difficult to remove.
easy to follow and I love that you show how to fix a flawed cut (which I do often!) Good to know it even happens to those who have more experience than I do. subscribed and liked. Thanks!
Thank you. I always try to make it simple enough so that ***I*** could follow it.
Wow! You're a songwriter too! Beautiful and so true.
Thank you.
Absolutely wonderful, Gene!
Jeanna, I think you kindly!
Very lovely 😊
Thank you, so much.
Very nice!
Thank you, Kathleen. I was amazed to get a comment this quickly, with only three views.
Never heard that one before. Very nice.
According to Hymnary.org this song was written in 1895 by Johnson Oatman.
Beautiful!
Thank you, so much.
Very nice. I've always like the autoharp.
Thank you!
They will try to claim anything they can get away with. They claimed I was infringing "When You and I Were Young, Maggie", which was first published in the 1860's. I stood my ground and they went away. By the way, really nice performance.
Thank you Mr Gene for sharing your voice with the world.
Thank you!
You learned all that in 2 days?! Wow!
I had watched a lot of videos on playing the autoharp prior to getting it. AND I knew a bit of music theory also, from playing other instruments.
Very nice. Thanks.
Thank you!
Nice song Gene! I'm impressed.
Thanks Chris. I am fairly new to songwriting and most of mine will sound "country" because that is where my roots are.
I would love to hear Dolly Parton sing this.
Your voice reminds me of Leslie Jordan, may he rest in peace.... Great video!!
He grew up only 2 hours away from where I grew up....both pretty Southern. Thanks!
That was a super efficient technique with easy to follow instructor!
Thank you so much. That was the goal!
Brilliant, Gene. May I ask what fiber and weight are you using?
It has been quite a while since this project was uploaded. I am guessing that it was a standard yarn probably dk weight. I also suspect it was a synthetic fiber on this one. However I have had success with this using various fibers and weights. My favorite for weaving is a cotton fiber.
Nicely done!!
Thank you, Jackie.
Just beautiful, Gene!
Thank you!
