    The original & best motorbike tents on the market. I am on my second one now. First one lasted 11 years & had dozens of trips every year in severe European weather. It was really well used & abused in all seasons, in all terrains. Brilliant tents & well worth the investment. I cant speak highly enough of the Redverz brand. Customer service & advice is very good. I wouldnt use anything else.

    Good review. I'm not a big guy at 5'10 165lbs. I recieved my sunset today but instantly returned it because i don't like how narrow it is. There is no where to rest your elbows. I already have the one chair and that is far more comfortable it feels more natural. I didn't even know about the one xl so I ordered it also the Savanah. We'll see which one is better . I like the cradled feeling the one gives me. Like I'm being hugged by a mommy .😂

    I had a large comment. Deleted it. Short version. It is a great tent. But damn what a large packingsize. To be honest ? Almost to big and heavy for me. But once standing it gives you a lot of comfort. Breaking it down and getting it in the bag again i find it a hazzle. Everytime. Sometimes when waking up around 4 a clock. My first thought is. Man, do i really in a couple of hours have to do that all again ? But everything has a positive and a negative not ? O yeah, make sure to tie it down with stakes. After coming back from a shit my tent was gone. Had to retreive it almost from 500 meter away.😇

    Help! There are _two_ ground sheets available for the Atacama tent. I thought this meant there was one ground sheet for the bike garage and another ground sheet for the luggage/storage vestibule at the far end of the tent _away_ from the sleeping bay. But the ground sheet you demonstrate here seems to cover *_both_* the bike garage and the storage bay. Is that correct? If so, why buy *_both_* of the optional ground sheets?

    • @RedverzGear
      @RedverzGear Před rokem

      Hello. There are two separate, custom fitted sheets, one for the entire garage area and one for under the sleep area. When used under the sleep area it protects against ground moisture, and damage to your floor from dirt and debris, extending the life of your tent floor. In the garage area the greatest functional reason is to keep ground moisture down in the single walled area to reduce condensation, it also allows you to walk between sleep and garage areas on a clean surface, and acts as a place to store gear clean and dry. If you want to have the bike inside simply connect only that vestibule area up to the Moto space and leave that open to the ground. I tuck the extra bit of sheet back and under and you can secure with a bit of gear on top, so it is used only partially. Any further questions just let me know. Cheers, Christine

    • @RedverzGear
      @RedverzGear Před 2 lety

      Yes, the Series II is our older model which we no longer produce. The change you will note most obviously is that the sleeping bay on the ATACAMA is longer and allows up to 3 campers to sleep lengthwise utilizing both doors for entry and exit. There are also mesh screens in the J-doors of the Atacama to allow for more ventilation with bug protection when you hang out in the garage. There are countless smaller tweaks that improve performance and ease of use. We no longer stock replacement parts for the Series II and that may be a consideration. Cheers. Reach out directly if you have further questions, happy to help.

    Kevin, would you recommend a little zipper wax be applied?

    • @RedverzGear
      @RedverzGear Před 2 lety

      Because we spend too much time in the sand, we like to keep ours like they come new - bone dry. Once you start having sand and grit sticking to the wax the zipper starts to wear quickly. brushing out the main zippers you use from time to time goes a long way to overall longevity of the zippers . Cheers

    I have compared this tent with the Lone Rider Moto tent and from what I can see they are nearly identical in material, weight and layout, but the Redverz tents have the HD rainproof air vents(so important) on the tops and the tie cord pockets that are so convenient .. The Moto tent has a larger sleeping area for 2 people, but the Redverz is $100 less and you can upgrade to the larger Atacama that sleeps 3 for (still)slightly less than the Lone Rider, but weighs 2lbs more(for those who care). It really comes comes down to the carrying bag and in my opinion one of the key features of protecting your investment..

    I used this tent on a 2 week motorcycle tour covering 4000 miles through the Western USA. I recommend it!! It is a little more costly than some of the others out there, BUT! You get what you pay for. In this tent you get excellent quality and reliability. Tons of room for all your gear. I especially liked the fact that I could stand up to get dressed, either in the tent or garage portion. I would recommend bringing some extra para cord, to put in the garage portion, I used the cord to hang my towel at night. I have used both the Solo and the Atacama they perform equally well. Packing size is about the same for both. Yes it is a larger pack size, but to me that's a minor issue versus comfort. It sets up very easily, remember to peg the sleep side first into the wind, then after all the poles are in place, grab the anchor points on the garage end and pull it up, its like a parachute of sorts, boom a couple of more pegs on the garage end and your set! Enjoy.

    Looks great but missing a few small details? How does it pack for travel. how much does it weigh? How long does it take to set up and take down? Does it fit on the back of a bike or a half ton?

      The Solo Tent weighs in at 12 pounds. Set up and take down videos are also available and following the repeatable steps it's incredibly easy and straightforward. As with everything, the more you do it the quicker you will get, first time maybe 10-15 minutes, just orienting yourself with set up and I now set mine up in under 5 minutes easily. It packs down to 21" x 7 inches and fits easily behind you on the bike or alongside strapped to a pannier. Cheers!

      @@christinemuggleton5504 : Thank you for the extra info Christine. The size packs well but 12 pounds is about 8 pounds heavier than my 2 person tent. Bike has to sleep outside though.

    Where the hell do you pack your tent? In a back-up vehicle?

      At 21" long x 10" around the tent fits nicely across the back of the bike or strapped alongside on a pannier. The Series II is a past model, which we no longer sell, the current Atacama packs to the same dimensions and offers upgraded features. Cheers. Redverz.
