Smoker Build Part Dose!
Finally finishing up the smoker build. I don't recommend cutting into propane tanks...but if you have to fill it with water to purge the residual gas out of it.
Don't forget to watch part 1
czcams.com/video/TuQUul6zoBQ/video.html
Thing I would have changed for round 3:
-More angle on the reverse flow plate
-Larger tanks
-Larger fire box
-centralized fire box
-grease channel
Thanks for Watching!

SMAW Hobart 7018

Doing a little 2F 7018 welding with Hobart 1/8” skip to 6:00 or so for plate welding. I like to weld stringers in a T joint opposed to welding the infamous stringers on a pad. It gives you a better idea of how to use and fight gravity as your welding. I also do not like to remember settings because you never know what kind of machine you will be running in the field, how cold/hot it is outside ...

Welding galvanized steel with .030 ER70S-6 with C-25 gas. This process is safe to do, it has been proven that zinc is not a carcinogen. Welding galvanized affects everyone differently, you can experience mild nausea after welding for a prolonged time. The process is done around the world and done on a mass scale. Zinc is less noble than carbon steel, this means that the zinc will act as a sacri...

Finished up the MANVIL!!! Check out the building of MANVIL in part 1: czcams.com/video/0VnpWwsEAWQ/video.html Used Russian Olive for a base, not a good idea because this stuff is rock solid and hard to cut. Drilled some holes in the MANVIL sized to drive some timber stakes through. Thanks for watching Subscribe.

Issues with a Craftsman riding lawn mower blowing white smoke in mass quantities. Tracked problem down after some high tech diagnostics including but not limited to driving back and forth a bunch of times. How do I start a Troy-bilt trimmer
too much talk
I watched a couple of other videos on this topic. Yours was the most helpful. Thank you.
look at all the stupid people being happy that "it wont kill you" like as if you don't need to avoid breathing it. Even knob jockey in the video says it makes you feel like shit, how much of a genius does it take to see your body doesn't want anything to do with it??
Seeing that smoke coming off right in front of your face makes me cringe. I would weld galvanized only outside on a windy day or with a fan to blow the gases away from me..
Agree 100%
can you weld with 30 gauge sheet mettle
20 gauge is the thinnest I have ever mig welded. 30 gauge would need TIG.
How or can you weld galvanize plate on body of car???
Will it weld galvanized to mild steel?
Yes
Your spool is definitely upside down and you are pushing your puddle when you should be dragging with flux core wire.
Damn guy……that looks a lot like my welds with a Titanium 125.
Doesn't look like your garage door is open, and I dont know if you're wearing a respirator, so ill just ask. Do you know that breathing the fumes from welding galvanized metal will kill you? Do something to remove that galvanized coating before you weld.
Still kicking buddy!
@coconutcowboy5976 good to know! But, protect yourself so you can stay with us for a long time.
@michaeldvorak5556 Absolutely! I believe the air quality regulations just changed or are in the process of changing on galvanized/zinc welding, so that's good for everyone.
@@coconutcowboy5976what does regulation have to do with you welding galvanised in your garage? If you don’t care about your health (and multiple people have warned you about the danger of welding galvanised) you can go to Ukraine and fight the ruZZians
I had zinc poisoning once, was laid out for a week with a bad cough, migraine etc
You just saved my sanity! Thank you for these clear instructions. I didnt think I'd find anyone with the same trimmerm
Great explanations and very easy to follow thanks a lot!!
Held up so far?
Do you leave the string stuck/pushed into the sizing hold tabs, when feeding the two string ends out thru the final holes?
No..or they would break inside and not make it through the hole..you should try and get them out-of-the-notch beforehand
I'm new at welding, have all my equipment. Flux core, gasless. Need to weld two pieces of 10ft 12gauge unistrut. Do need to weld on a bracket to it or just the both ends together?
If your welding end to end to make 20ft and its holding substantial weight I would use a bracket or stiffener of some sort. If welding in parallel no need.
@@coconutcowboy5976 okay, yeah I'm actually building a ground mount solar array, going to have around 12 panels, so yeah thats what I was thinking. So unistrut makes a 1/4 bracket that bolts up to it but it bows when I lift it. Can I weld 1/4 to it?
@carlosreyes6448 sure can, concentrate your heat on the 1/4 and let the weld puddle flow onto the thinner material.
@@coconutcowboy5976 okay hey I really appreciate your help.
So why didn't you use 409CB or 409Nb? Was it just time constraint?
Thanks for posting
Thank You Very helpful
easy to follow, thanks!
This is looking like the most useless video ever. Why do you start the video with the machine already taken apart??? It's impossible for me to follow your video when you start with a already disassembled machine. I need to know how to do the first step.
Unscrew the middle cap on bottom of whacker..and the spool will fall off/out of spindel
Great video man thanks
Hey, what size wire did you use? Thanks 👍
.030
@@coconutcowboy5976 thank you :-)
Good to know and thank you for sharing!
I welded galv pipe, or was in close proximity to welding almost daily for maybe 5 years just fine until one day I got so sick I almost called 911. 15 years later, I’ve had it maybe a dozen more times like that. My sensitivity to it has become increasingly noticeable. Can weld raw steel all day no problem. But have to limit myself to 2hr sessions or it’ll kick in. Not sure what it’s all about, I just know it’s a real thing. Now I always weld with shop doors open, and am way better at holding my breath. The milk thing doesn’t seem to have an effect.
Thank you...try find your light
If there's slag, drag the puddle not push
If it works, it works...
Thank you sooo much for that info. I'm 56 and I've never heard anyone say that it won't hurt you..😇🖒
People are NASTY!
Didn't explain witch way to turn the line after putting it in
I purposely use flux core or stick to fix galvanized. The fumes coming off of the galvanize will negate and shiding gas you use otherwise.
The worst educational video ever
We humans take Zinc pills but NOT Zinc oxide pills..From most all authoritative sources on this subject, Zinc oxide smoke should be avoided when welding. Otherwise in my view, your video is very informative!
Your wire is in the machine the wrong way..
Sorry about that, I just seen someone already mentioned it.
Love the Brush guards my dad is getting one for ram 3500
Any of y'all ever welded hot dipped fencing that had been powder coated?
No and it doesn't sound fun. Welded some uni-strut that was painted. Will never forget that.
🥲 my string keeps feeding itself. Or my string stays caught in the notch so it won't feed. ????what am I doing wrong again?
String may be too long on spool
Perfect! I just learned something. Thanks brother!
Very well instructor. Thanks
Dont mix cancer with poisoning…
My cap is inside other part.i have to dump cap out.
I have my instructions.but have to look
I have only one spot for one string
Only place on mine to have strong wound
I can't find a single video that shows how to take that entire head off to replace it with something that doesn't need string.
thanks...
Just saved me so much time. Thank you!
What did you have your welder set at for Voltage and Wire speed
Usually around 170/17 to 180/18 is a good start for 14 gauge.
@@coconutcowboy5976 ok i did a weld test yesterday and passed the cold rolled steel but then they hit me with 14g galvanized flat and downhill and i havent done galvanized since 04 and just couldn't get the machine set right, i had it set good on a couple test pieces but started the test with the steel so I turned it up and forgot my numbers for the galvanized lol
You telling me I haven't been galvanized poisoned? Hilarious
