100% agree on keeping CZcams a hobby I'll be honest. I never got how people can basically go full business mode and Do the "grind" As you call it to review things by publisher embargos and stuff like that To me once you've sold out enough to try to constantly get new views and subscribers by trying to get early access for recency bias and have to force yourself to make weekly or worse daily videos then I think your soul and heart in making videos gets heavily diminished if not outright gone I suppose if people do want to see CZcams as a job then I guess that's fine But for me I generally Make videos because it's fun and I generally watch CZcamsrs who keep it as a hobby because it's easy to tell when theyve sold out When they are clearly having less fun I've been using CZcams since it's beginning and I will always see it as a hobby platform and generally like it when other people do so I try to do that as well

I haven't seen very much of your channel (maybe a video here and there about VNs since that's a thing I'm into) but for what it's worth, I think you're making the right call. I often find the best content from people comes from stuff they really enjoy and want to talk about. People who grind out stuff, while they may make bigger numbers, I find their work to not be very memorable. If you have a choice, I would say always go for creating meaningful stuff

It sounds to me like you're focusing on enjoying your life more. :) That makes me happy. Even if we see a little less of you around here, the knowledge that you're busy living life to the fullest lets us sleep easy at night.

haha this video is great, i clicked to see your opinion on the few visual novels i've played (fate stay night, hollow ataraxia, steins gate, umineko) and turns out you didn't include any of them, did you not play those titles? i have a pretty basic taste in visual novels and i wanna start getting into more obscure titles so i'll use your video as a reference! I was just curious about you opinion on these very popular titles

One of my favorite visual novels, and series, of all time is Higurashi. It’s a time commitment for every chapter, but it’s really good. I even like it more than Umineko so far. I haven’t played Fata Morgana yet, but everyone says how good it is

I'd recommend reading The Fruit of Grisaia at some point. Same people that made Hatsumira too. Maybe I'm biased since it was my first VN, but very few VNs made me feel the way that one did. And it has absurd comedy too xD

5:53 Clannad is known for being one of the best and most heartwarming visual novels out there. The catch is the novel is absurdly long, like you need to devote several hours a day to complete all the routes in order to unlock a SECOND chapter of the novel. *Beautiful* Forever will hold a place in my heart p.s. there are multiple spinoff novels that correlate to the specific character routes

The house in fata morgana is my favorite piece of media ever. I have reread it so many times and it hits every time. If I could, I'd get a physical copy too. What a beautiful story.

I like this tier list, glad to see someone else putting the first Ace Attorney game at the top, it's always been my favorite as well. :D Also, you should really play AI: The Somnium Files if you haven't already, it's a truly amazing game!

Spirit Hunter NG feels sorta low here, I agree it isn't as good as it's predecessor Death Mark but it's still a solid horror visual novel. Probably an 8.25/10 if I had to score it, probably bump it a tier higher. Great list and attempt at this though! A lot of stuff I have never read or heard of. Good to see a lot of the great VNs ranked where they should be. Thought your boyfriend was getting you into 999, curious how high you put that if/when you finish it. Also think you would like VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action, especially since you have played Coffee Talk among others that were inspired by the former.

Never played Littlewitch Romanesque: Editio Regia? Or any of the princess maker series?

Wow, I could have sworn you played MakingLovers but I guess not. I'm definitely biased because it was my first VN but it is still my favorite and that probably won't change. It's interesting but a bit weird because it's a little difficult to figure out which character you're going after given the choices, but every route is outstanding. Saki was my first route (not by choice really) and it's easily the funniest one I've played, though everyone's favorite is Karen I think. You should give it a try Cub, everything SMEE touches is gold

You should def read white album 2, probably the only visual novel I like as much and maybe more than Fata Morgana series

what made you rank shironagasu as A tier? imo only redeeming factor about it is the ost and neneko but the story, bad interactive mechanics (time limit events punishing slow readers), cheap jumpscares and random advancements in the plot are just not it for me 😭😭one of the only vns to break my suspension of disbelief umineko captures the "trapped on a remote island" much better imo but i see some people have already urged you to read it, so give it a shot at some point pleaseee! also you're so real for putting kara no shojo at S

So many visual novels... My tier list would've been much shorter, still something of a newbie to the genre lol. Did you forget about Bustafellows? I believe you talked about it in a video. Or did you not play it until the end? I'm playing it currently, so that's why I noticed it's missing from this list

I'm surprised you have not played Raging Loop or the Zero Escape series, I would highly recommend them if you ever have some time to play them!
